Again, if everyone takes responsibility, it can be done.  The issue is that not everyone will do that.  And ultimately, everyone is scared of a virus that has a 99.6% survival rate.

Just to point out that quoting a 99.6% survival has no reliable evidential basis whatsoever, at the moment there is no accurate estimate of how many people have had the virus and the mortality rate among confirmed cases actively contradicts a survival rate of 99.6.

That figure and the 'less lethal than flu'  lines seem to be something some Turning Point USA type pulled directly out of his a** to provoke the sort of people that protest for the right to visit Dave & Busters or get their nails done in the middle of a pandemic

No the Eagles should not play in Happy Valley.

The Premier League method in soccer is working.  No fans and regular testing since they returned.  NFL can do the same as long as the players, coaches, etc. are safe and in a controlled environment.

You're right...there is no accurate estimate of how many people have had the virus and the mortality rate.  With the way they count cases and deaths, it will never be accurate.  Seems as though you would be the type to argue it's more than what the numbers show and I'm the type that would argue it's less.  A matter of perspective. I choose to take anything I see in the media with a grain of salt and use critical thinking skills.  Based on that, the answers become obvious to me.  Others just gobble up what the media tells them like Zeke Elliot eating a bowl of cereal because they're too lazy to apply critical thinking.

I will tell you guys this... My wife is a RN and works on the Orthopedic floor of her hospital.Which is no longer used as such.  The hospital system owns 4 hospitals in our area. Back when this pandemic started, they converted ONE floor of ONE hospital to a covid only floor.  People not there for any other reason other than covid OR if they were there for something else and tested positive for covid.

Fast forward to today.....

All 4 hospitals have specific entire floors for covid positive people who are too sick to go home. 2 of the hospitals have 1 floor.  2 have 2 floors now. So, 6 total floors.  Today they filled their last bed. So... another floor needs to become a covid only floor.   Now heres the kicker...

Hospital 1 = 3 floors

Hospital 2 - 4 floors

Hospital 3 - 4 floors

Hospital 4 = 5 floors

16 total floors.   6 currently at capacity with covid only sick patients.  1 more likely opening tomorrow.  So 7 of out 16 floors across 4 hospitals are nothing but sick people with covid..... And thats AFTER 36 PEOPLE DIED IN THE LAST 48 HOURS OUT OF THOSE 6 FLOORS.

So ya. Its fake. The numbers are a lie. No ones really sick.... FOH with that bs. Tell that to my wife who STILL comes home every day, undresses in the garage, straight to the shower, with bruised ears and gouge marks across her nose and eyes from the PPE that she wears for 11hrs of the day.

Why the hate for Penn State?

Guarantee if you looked at those figures the death toll would look worse, as an example in the UK when the National Statistics Office counted deaths above the expected average the death toll comes out way over 60,000, whereas the official diagnosed COVID deaths total is around 45,000.

I was getting more at total deaths year to year, forget COVID for the moment. For instance, total deaths in Philadelphia 1 January to 15 July in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.

Who gives a crap what they want? If the options are wear face shields, or they have the option to sit out and not get paid then I’m sure they’ll come around.

I don’t want to wear a face mask when I go to the grocery store either, but here I am in a state that makes it mandatory.

Same here but collective bargaining means shields need to be negotiated.  It’s complicated.

Eagles coaches and other football staff should be back in the facility by now.  "Camp” starts in two weeks.

So what do ya think?  Will there be a season?

I'm thinking they may start the season but they'll shut them down before Thanksgiving, the folks behind this plandemic will be reporting numbers that are out of this world, they'll have the mandatory vaccinations in force before New Years.

Yeah and that's what I'm saying the UK measured total deaths so far this year and compared it against a 5 year average total deaths by this time of year and the number of deaths this year over the 5 year average was in excess of the official COVID figures by ~25%.

Wierd how critical thinking always equates to ignoring the science in favour of some new world order conspiracy theory that the deep state is trying to subjugate the population by making them wear masks and not watch sports in a stadium.

Subjugate the population? Hardly. Influence the national mood and how they vote November 3? Possibly.

A little off topic but still in the spirit of the post I think. I'd like to see total deaths from ALL causes for a given month for the past 3 or 4 years. If the total number of deaths per month is not that different from previous years, that would make me wonder about the "Covid deaths" count. It sure seems like there's a political motivation to Covid accounting.

It shouldn't, since we haven't closed the country down completely for 4 months before due to an illness.  People like to say that the flu kills 60k people a year and this is the same.  Well it's not.  First, the flu kills around 12k to 60k people a year, so an average of about 35-40k.  Second, this virus has killed 3 times that many people in less than half while the whole country was closed for 4 months. You can think it's politically motivated accounting, but it's not.

Funny how anyone who doesn't simply just accept what we're being fed is labeled as a "conspiracy theorist".  By your logic, then you would fall under the "sheep" category.  Is that accurate for you?  If not, then why would the conspiracy theorist label be accurate for me?  Because I disagree with your sentiment?

The more I see both players and coaches speak on how they don’t believe the NFL is doing enough to protect them, the more I’m doubting this is going to happen. I see the other sports putting players in bubbles as designating specific locations for them to play at while the NFL is operating like business as usual and are even considering bringing in fans. I guess the league won’t get it until a coach or owner gets the virus.

You don't see or hear what the owners are doing or are trying to do behind the scenes.  The only thing we are seeing is the players making statements on social media.  You can't put players in a bubble.  Not the NFL.  You can't guarantee everyone's safety.  Nobody can.  So you don't have the season.  Plain and simple.  Both the players and owners lose out.  So no one can blame the other.

If the owners were doing things behind the scenes I think we wouldn’t have so many people speaking out about how the league isn’t doing anything. Surely they would keep people informed on some level at this point right? Like you mentioned you can’t put players in a bubble, because it’s just too many people to try, but you can instill safety measures in some level and for now it doesn’t look like the league is even trying. Teams are set to report to camps soon with no real directives from the league. If they don’t figure this all out soon I can’t see the season lasting at all.

The one major problem is the NFL and NFLPA can;t reach an agreement on anything. The NFL had a plan but the NFLPA keeps changing it. The NFL changed it a few times to try and meet in the middle but the NFLPA won;t budge. They want everything their way, no ifs ands or buts. So its not all the NFLs fault.

The owners are most concerned with making money. The players are concerned with players safety and making their money. Negotiations are give and take. Truth is they had months to iron all this out.

Well from what Ive seen on tv, read there has been a lot more give from the NFL and the owners then the players. Players don't seam to be willing to give on anything.

The NFL has informed teams their training camps will open on time. NFL players are publicly pleading with the league to address several health and safety concerns on the eve of training camp.

The league informed teams on Saturday that training camps will open on time even though discussions with the players’ union regarding testing for the coronavirus and other health and safety protocols are ongoing.

Rookies for Houston and Kansas City are set to report Monday and rookies for other teams are due on Tuesday. Players for all teams are scheduled to report by July 28.

Many prominent players expressed their thoughts in a social media blitz Sunday.

"We need Football! We need sports! We need hope!” Saints quarterback Drew Brees wrote on Twitter. "The NFL’s unwillingness to follow the recommendations of their own medical experts will prevent that. If the NFL doesn’t do their part to keep players healthy there is no football in 2020. It’s that simple. Get it done @NFL.”

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said he is concerned because his wife, Ciara, is pregnant.

He wrote: "My wife is pregnant. @NFL Training camp is about to start.. And there’s still No Clear Plan on Player Health & Family Safety. ???? We want to play football but we also want to protect our loved ones. (hashtag)WeWantToPlay.”

NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith and President JC Tretter addressed the union’s concerns in a 90-minute videoconference call with reporters on Friday.

They want players tested daily for the virus. A joint committee of doctors, trainers and strength coaches formed by the NFL and NFLPA recommended testing every other day.

Other outstanding issues include number of preseason games. The league has planned to cut the exhibition schedule from four games to two while the union wants none.

Players also wanted a 45-day acclimation period to help avoid injuries. The league asked them to report early but the union declined. Questions remain on protections for players who want to opt out of playing.

All 32 teams have sent the union their Infectious Disease Emergency Response that have been approved by joint infectious disease experts and NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills, according to a person familiar with the details. The person, speaking to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because protocols haven’t been finalized, said the union has approved several and continues to review them.

On Friday, the league sent players and teams an Education Protocol for camp which requires clubs to distribute joint educational materials and to conduct educational sessions for players, staff and family members.

Tretter, a center for the Browns, wrote: "What you are seeing today is our guys standing up for each other and for the work their union leadership has done to keep everyone as safe as possible. The NFL needs to listen to our union and adopt the experts’ recommendations (hashtag)wewanttoplay.”

Under the collective bargaining agreement, the NFL has the right to impose report dates and teams can fine players who don’t report.

The NFLPA could file a grievance to argue the league isn’t providing a safe work environment under the labor deal.
