Funny how the haters are acting like we a now winning just because of Barkley like this dude didn’t just play six seasons of mostly losing football with the Giants. 😂🤣😂 I mean first we only won because of a center and now because of a back. This is coming from the same people who claim that you have to throw the ball 50 times a game to win in this league. 😂🤣😂 You guys are hilarious.

Very Aristotelian, I like it

I know he was evaluated on the sideline, but... watching this interview afer the game, I think Jalen really got his bell rung...

That interview was a little concerning.

No Seth they won’t and never will.

I made a similar point weeks ago that all QBs miss open guys, so I couldn't understand why Hurts was getting harshly criticized here for it. I think it was the Giants game where he played a good game, but had 2 plays where he missed open guys.

Think he got criticized for the sacks too, but that's a good debate because he does take bad sacks at times.

Of course this is true.  But the issue is that this sport has been on about a quarter century run where, with a few exceptions, mostly only nearly perfect HOF QBs are winning SBs at the end of the year.  There are exceptions, but they are in the minority.

 nearly perfect

Hurts played a "nearly perfect" super bowl and the Eagles still lost. Matthew Stafford played a very mediocre game the year before and won. I know Eagles fans hate to hear it, but Tom Brady outplayed Foles in LII in nearly every statistical way (except as a receiver) and still lost by 8 points. It's a team sport. People talk about Nick Foles, The Philly Special, the strip sack, but nobody really talks about Corey Clement catching 4 passes for 100 yards and a td or Jalen Mills having 2 PDs ...

Burrow missed Chase tonight on a wide open TD. Would have given them the lead, instead they lose

Again, not unlike other QBs:

I don’t think Eli Manning won two super bowls against Tom Brady, because he was nearly perfect. In fact one time he beat a nearly perfect team. Also crying and hoping for some perfect quarterback isn’t realistic. How many quarterbacks are the Bears looking for right now? What about the Browns? HOF quarterbacks don’t just fall in your lap. Heck quarterbacks who even make it to the SB don’t just fall into your lap. Here we actually have a quarterback who made it to the SB ( ONLY ONE OF FOUR FOR THIS FRANCHISE) and dopes think there’s something better out there. Who Tanner McKee?

A lot of quarterbacks take some bad sacks too. Some of them might not be as egregious as Hurts, but what do we want? If he throws that ball into that window people will kill him for the interception. In the KC game, Josh Allen threw one of the ugliest picks I’ve ever seen on 4th down. Jalen would have been crucified for that. I’d rather he take the sack than give up the turnover. Take the punt over giving up the short field.

Joe Burrow this seasons has two games verses the Ravens that he threw for over or close to 400 yards. He lost both games. If he stays healthy this statistically could be his best season ever and he probably ends this season with a losing record. Jalen’s only season with a losing record was his first season with Doug P.

I can think of 12 Super Bowls since 2000 that teams won without elite qbs or a qb playing at a non-elite level during the season.

I think in the role he is in now where he isnt the main focus of the offense is when he is at his best. As flawed as he is, this roster is built to cover up a crap ton of it as long as he utilizes it correctly. Seems the coaches gave up on trying make him throw for 350 and now we score 35 lol

I think last season he was flat out used wrong. Too many QB designed runs and forcing the deep ball.  We don't see that this season, so he's playing better.

He started out the beginning of the year the same way. After the bye they reverted to a more fitting offense

He isnt meant to be a 350 yard passing qb. That's fine. We score 35 when they stop trying to force that on him

The only difference before and after the bye is that we've been able to get multiple score leads in the 2nd half and haven't been in situations where there's a need to keep passing frequently. It's the same offense.

I'll tell you one thing ... when this team is playing from behind and needs to throw the ball, I'd much rather have Hurts passing in that situation than Goff.

Quality of opponents and health is a reason for those leads...but if you don't see a difference in play call and a change in focus,  that's on you brother

Like every team, we have to deal with health too and, unlike you I guess, I don't believe there's nearly as much of a difference between the majority of the NFL. Most teams can beat any team on a good day or lose to any team on a bad day. Hype is a great way to promote a product, but the truth is most teams are actually loaded with talent and pretty capable of being in the mix. Every year there are a couple dysfunctional teams with infighting, finger-pointing, or some other distraction going on preventing them from performing as a team (which is critical to success in football.) But it always cracks me up when fans fall for the hype. Remember when a healthy Aaron Rodgers was going to make the jets a super bowl contender? Remember how great the Saints were heading into week 3? Remember when Darnold was an MVP candidate? Remember when Hurts led the NFL in turnovers?

Every team has a schedule made up of other NFL teams and every team has to deal with injuries or play other teams dealing with injuries. Every NFL record is a product of that fact. It's not like HOFers only ever played against the best of the best their entire careers. Stop downplaying everything to fit your narrative.

Downplaying or facts? Nobody over .500 for a long period of this stretch. I believe just washington actually.

(Wash 7 wins, Dallas 3, jax 2, cin 3, ny 2, cle 1) soooooo...

Who is the one playing things for their narrative? I love your passion for the team and how you can spin things to hype the team up. They are playing great. I'm just analyzing why such a drastic change versus the beginning of the year. You dont see a change. To me that's odd because there is obvious change by just looking at what's on the field and the scoreboard. I see a complete different approach that says we lean on our strengths as a team which also includes jalens downfield ability, but no longer makes it the focus of the offense.  Somehow me pointing that out offends your fandom. I don't understand why. I probably never will. I'm an eagles fan. You seem to be a jalen guy.

Do you read my other posts in other topics or do you only come to the Jalen Hurts thread to talk about him?

I'm for all our players and coaches and want them all to succeed. If anybody has a bad performance, I'd rather see them learn from it and rebound than to see heads roll. I am  Jalen guy, and a Nakobe guy, and a Baun guy, and a Sweat guy, and a Covey guy, and a Slay guy, and a Rodgers guy, and a Blankenship guy, and an AJ guy, and a Dotson guy, etc...
