Its hilarious how suddenly you all have developed a phobia to passing the ball and its a scary thing. LOL

Who’s actually saying to change it? Nobody is saying they want to change the identity of this offense. Nobody is saying they want us to go pass heavy. What we have with Barkley works so you stick with that. But you don’t have to change your identity to be better in the pass game.

So you are saying you don't want Hurts to throw more passes, just to complete more passes. Is that what you want? Because you may want to check his completion percentage before making that argument.

I’m saying there are throw aways in situations where perhaps if he made the throw earlier there would have been yards. I’m saying he takes sacks when maybe there’s been an opportunity to make a pass. I’m saying he’s not been good enough and this passing offense needs to improve.

The numbers could look better if they weren't handing the ball off for a full quarter in multiple games this year because they had such a large lead. Looking at the stats from pre-bye to post-bye, this is what the numbers look like Hurts completion percentage post bye is 68.4%. He has thrown for 12 TD's, ran for 11 TD's and thrown 1 INT. He has taken 22 sacks in that time and has an average passer rating of 114. Lamar has the best passer rating for the season with 116.3, Goff is second with 109.1. Through the first 4 games Hurts had a completion percentage of 67.95, threw for 4 TD's, ran for 2 and had 4 interceptions. He was sacked 13 times and had an average passer rating of 85.7. The Falcons game and Saints game were pretty good for completion percentage with 76.7 and 76.3 in those games. He also had 311 yards in the Saints game which was a season high without Brown and with Smith getting injured. Most of those yards were picked up on the late completion to Goedert and the Eagles won the game 15 to 12. While the completion percentage numbers are pretty similar, he has been far more efficient and effective when he does throw. It's reflected in his passer rating which is 28 points higher.

I’ve not once said Hurts is the only problem and that he can’t fix the issues. What I have said is he is the biggest issue right now and he needs to improve. I’ve also said the run game is an excuse for the pass game deficiencies. There’s a world where we can have the same run identity whilst being better in the passing game. Detroit and Baltimore manage it.
December 12, 2024Dec 12 In my press conference this morning, I reported to the media that you all have a rift with each other. When asked specifically about the root cause, I replied, "Posting."

December 16, 2024Dec 16 It's been 10 games since this was posted: and this: Those posts contain these two graphics: Which I responded with this hypothetical: On 10/6/2024 at 4:20 PM, brkmsn said: Since the beginning of 2023, Hurts has 27 turnovers (20 last season). Josh Allen has 24 (22 last season), Mahomes has 22 (17 last season), Tua has 22, Lawrence has 22, Howell had 23 last season and hasn't played this year. Hypothetical question --- If Hurts over the next 10 games has the fewest turnovers among starting QBs in that 10 game span will people be posting QB comparisons of that span or will they be lumping the first 4 games into it ... or will they lump those and 2023's stats into it? It all depends on the narrative. I would prefer in that situation, we compare Jalen's first 4 games to his next ten only to show improvement in protecting the ball, but fully understand that the 1st 4 games also counted this season (especially when compared to other QBs). But last season has absolutely nothing to do with this season and if you want to compare careers, then compare careers without cherry-picking a time span to fit a narrative. So after 14 games, Jalen is 247-357-2892-18-5 and has lost 5 fumbles and has added 147-589-14 rushing. He has a QB rating of 104.5 and a QBR of 66.7. The team is 12-2 on the season. Time's yours, naysayers ...
December 16, 2024Dec 16 Somehow this Hurts fellow just led the Eagles to their longest win streak in franchise history.

Look it’s hard to break a 2000 yard rushing record and a passing record at the same time. Can’t really expect them to have massive passing numbers besides that’s not how they really operate. In the second half of most games if they have the lead they usually just bleed out the clock with runs and first downs. Sirianni’s second half philosophy has mostly been this way. If they’re up then they’re usually playing keep away.
December 16, 2024Dec 16 If you weren't impressed with Jalen's performance yesterday, then you don't like football. If you don't understand the point that Jalen hasnt looked like that pretty much in over a year and that's been the entire point of the conversation...thats on you. Just get the ball out to your guys quickly. He wasnt hesitating this game and it made him look damn near elite early on. The difference out of people in this discussion is we can give him credit for a great game and not act like it destroys our identity to do so.
December 16, 2024Dec 16 Some of you seem to be confused as to what a struggling quarterback looks like so I’ll help you out. These are the numbers of what a quarterback who is struggling looks like.

December 16, 2024Dec 16 QB1 best game of the season was yesterday. AJ, Smith, and Mailata calling him out did him well
