What inspires confidence is the grit and the mindset this team has, beginning with Jalen Hurts. They don’t panic. They just keep grinding and last night it put them in a position to win the game. I’m convinced- and my future posts will reflect this - that despite the "needs” this team has, they’re never out of it until 0:00 in the 4th quarter. They have a tough mental game and they are relentless. While the wins might not all be pretty or dominant, they are winning and that’s not easy in the NFL. Say what you will, but this team doesn’t quit and they are always in it until the end. That’s something special.

yeah these guys are winning despite the deficiencies at OC and DC. so what's the over on josh allen's passing yards for sunday😅

I'm only concerned with the Eagles and their issues. The Eagles shut out the Chiefs in the 2nd half, but drops by wide open receivers helped. That's my point. There are shut outs and then there are shutouts with an assist from the opponent. Last night was the latter. I simply want the Eagles to keep improving so that by playoff time they are much more consistent and efficient than they are now. I believe they can get there. I hope they do. We'll see.

That’s the thing though. The Eagles have been winning like this for two years now. If you think they blew out every opponent they faced last year you’re wrong. They’re one of the few teams that have winning records against winning teams this season. And look at what happens to all these teams that have been doing what you’re asking the Eagles to do which is beat up teams and face no adversity. As soon as they get some adversity they fold up. You can say you don’t care about other teams which is fine, but if you don’t realize that the Chiefs dropping passes is basically what they do then you’re missing the big picture. If you’re also ignoring the fact the Eagles defense stopped the Chiefs in the red zone twice with two forced turnovers then you’re not giving the Eagles any credit.

Couldn’t say it any better myself.

I’d add Brian Johnson is as awful at recognizing what’s going on and adjusting. Getting killed by the blitz and not leave any extra blockers but still have routes run right into coverage. 3rd and 1 and we aren’t brotherly shoving is a joke.

Brian Johnson has not grown like Desai has.  At least Desai makes great adjustments and the defense plays really well in the 2nd half. Shut out the Dolphins and Chiefs in the 2nd half.

It seems like Brian Johnson is this year what Gannon at DC was last year:  the offense has talent and can execute despite the bad play calls.  With Shane Steichen this offense would be vastly better.  Some really, really dumb play calls that it even appears the players are bothered by it.

:towel:

Everyone saying what a great job desai has done, yeah in 2 second halfs. The rest of the games? not so much. Yes he's had personell issues but we're statistically the worst passing defence (maybe not now but we were)

What about when we got gashed on nearly every play by mac jones, sam howell and Kirk cousins? We got a bit lucky on the dallas game too, dak and ceedee killed us.

It will only take another bad performance or result and the negativity will come straight back.

If kelce, MVS and watson don't drop those passes mahomes puts up 350 and we lose

It’s almost like he doesn’t want to be predictable to the point that he out thinks himself. 3rd and 1 with a struggling offense, tush push the sheet out of it. Hell I’m interested to see what a surprise Brotherly Shove on 1st and 10 would get us. Line up shot gun like normal and then motion into tush push.

Desai doesn’t get a pass for me but he’s not to blame this week. Johnson was out of his league last night. Taking so long to give Lane help with a TE or RB chip block was hilariously sad.

One big difference. Desai is making all of his plans and his calls. Brian Johnson... not so much.

Great win!

Eagles are not perfect, but damn do they find ways to win!

Still need to clean some things up.

Man, these 4th quarters are giving me panic attacks, blood pressure spikes, covid, STDs, increased anxiety, hernia issues, and mild heart attacks!!! :smoke:

Siri PC on the 3rd and 1 call that he didn't run the shove.  He says the stat sheet will say 3rd and 1, but he was standing right there and it looked to him like 2 yards.  He could have still run the shove but chose not to based on what they saw.

So I see the colts waived Leonard. We’ve been hunting for LB depth. Siri will have a connection from his time at Colts. Could see this one happen.

He isn’t what he used to be and I haven’t watched a lot of Colts this year but what do y’all think?

He could have ran it twice. First down.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have all have a happy blog.

This team has taken on the identity of their quarterback. As soon as there’s any type of adversity the haters and doubters show their true colors come out and talk their talk. Then the Eagles never waiver just like their quarterback and find a way to win and the haters and doubters are mad about it. You’re mad about winning. This team has three losses in two years with this quarterback under center and you’re mad about it.

Kansas City was clearly the better team last night - as was dallas a couple weeks ago.

It's funny how that happens, inasmuch as we keep

WINNING!

He should have.

I think sometimes they overthink.

Idk if I'd say Dallas was "clearly better"

As Parcells once said you are what your record says you are. Last I checked 9-1 trumps them all. I’ll add the Eagles went to KC who is off a bye week. Both AR and Mahomes have a crazy record of the bye. The also have a crazy record when winning after a half of football. The Eagles stopped all that nonsense and didn’t even have play great to do it. Clearly the better team won.

I'm guessing here but I think he might be mocking all the teams/media that keep saying they were better yet they lost.

Going into last night:

  • Reid's solid record after the bye
  • Reid undefeated against the Eagles as Chiefs HC
  • Chiefs undefeated when they score first (I believe the broadcast put up the stat that was 18-0)

Btw, Nick Sirianni is now 3-0 after the bye.  Off to a good start in his young HC career.

Hell we were gaining like five yards each push. Probably would have got it but if not run it again.
