In my family as well.  Every generation is less religious and non-participating. This includes me now.  I literally cannot bring myself to drive 2 minutes up the road and go to Mass.  It's been 3 years since I stopped going. Didn't go Monday even.  Not sure if my grandparents and parents are rolling in their graves or not, but I do remember speaking some Latin as a child in Church.  Went to 12 years of Catholic school, married in full communion of the Church, and raised my children in the religion.  I guess I've paid enough dues as they sold me 2 plots in their cemetery and my name is on the stone.  Not sure if I will just rot there in the ground or have eternal peace.

When were you in HS? All my teachers were people who studied Theology after Vatican II. I think that made a huge difference.

Yes. I'm guessing this priest was one of those not too fond of Vatican II

Their heads really explode when you discard BC/AD in favor of CE/BCE. For some reason it bothers some when you point out the world doesn’t revolve around their religion.

What new year will you be celebrating next week you hypocritical fraud?

You said Merry Christmas and you'll say it's 2024 next year but oh yeah it upsets "them" and you're not like "them" because you read Indian gibberish and are so cultured and educated in the true nature of the world

Yeah, your teacher was definitely a pre-Vatican II guy

How did my people get involved in this with our gibberish?

FWIW, based on the timing of the census that required Mary and Joseph to return to Bethlehem, it is likely that Jesus was born between 4-6 BC.

Also, there is no part of that area where there are spring lambs in the middle of winter.

The church has no choice but to adapt or be left behind.

Many choose to stay behind. The United Methodists are going through a split over same sex marriage. Over 40% in Western PA left and formed more conservative congregations that still allow them to be bigots.

Sorry to hear your Christmas didn’t go so well. Maybe 2024 will be a better year for you.

TNT is an enlightened Buddhist, so he's way smarter than Christians.  He always pointed out things to his teachers in Catholic school because of how smart he was and how misguided they were

He’s gleefully antagonistic toward Christians but dare to point out the challenges with Islam and he’ll attack with an ad hominem fury rarely seen outside of mostly peaceful protests. He’s smoked away the ability to reason and now relies entirely on juvenile emotions.

"Let he who has committed no logical fallacy, cast the first stone!”

I have been overly antagonistic against some Christians at times, especially during the angry atheist stage of my deconversion.

Just because I don’t see all Muslims the same, doesn’t mean I am defending Islam.

Christians who seem to follow the teachings of Christ are not the issue.

It is the majority of those claiming to be Christians, who clearly, have no idea what that means. The ones calling Christ weak-sauce, for example.

The ones who if they saw Joseph & pregnant Mary, would rack a shell in their shotgun and tell them they had best not let the sun set on them here.

Here is a quote just for you and TNT

While claiming to be wise,t they became fools
23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes.u

24Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts* for the mutual degradation of their bodies.v
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.w
26Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
27and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity.x

What do you think of Christians who follow these teachings??

You're so full of nonsense

It's impossible to be well versed on every work of fiction, so I stick to the ones that are at least interesting.

I do not put any thought at all in what teachings anyone follows as long as they don’t force their beliefs on others.
