I'm not an atheist.  And you're doing a terrible job defending Christianity.  You're making us look like ****s.  You should stop.

Why, because I refuse to accept atheist and anti-Christian nonsense?  Nah I'm good.

Or are you going to also take the "you should be kind to everyone you big meanie" angle?Because I could like find some less-than-pious posts from you as well

  I don't give a F if you're kind to anyone.  You just come off like an obnoxious d-bag.

But keep fighting the good fight, Mike.  They'll concede defeat and stop mocking you any day now.

Sorry defending Christianity is so painful for you all that you're forced into a life of atheism

I will thanks, I don't care who mocks me because of Christianity.

That’s weird. No one ever mocks me for being a Christian. I guess you just suck.

If you really think you're being mocked for being a Christian you are lying to yourself.

Lying to oneself is probably not a sin in your religion, but in my code of virtue it's the worst transgression there is. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of pretending to be vicariously redeemed through a weird act of human sacrifice when I break my rules (the closest analogy we have is the trial and death of Socrates.) Self-delusion has its own consequences, and those consequences compound when said delusion proceeds uncorrected.

No one even knew you were a Christian, probably because you hide from it for fear of your pals all mocking your religion.

Glad I'm living up to the Arthur Jackson "code of virtue" which apparently involves being a troll on a random EMB.  Virtuous!

Not quite.

You're still drowning in motivational self-deception. But the effort is appreciated.

"Motivational self deception"..."I'm smart because I look down on Christians but have my own code of virtue.  Smart!"

Who wants to volunteer to teach Attic Greek to @Mike31mt? Keep in mind the transition will have to be made into to whatever Deliverance dialect he speaks.

The good news, mike is that it's not too big a step to go from Attic to Koine, so you would be able to read all of the first edition, contradictory mistranslations of mythological desert claptrap.

fyp

'I'm smart, I'm a troll on the EMB but the Bible is a mythological desert claptrap!"

"Now here is some random copy and paste bull-ish no one cares about, please think I'm funny!"

One has to wonder who your responses are for, because they are very weak and lame. You really approach this like a child lashing out. This is part of your self-delusion.

I'm actually trying to help at this point. You're in way over your head and it looks very sad.

It would be different if you had some grasp of the concepts you're trying to defend. So go work on your Greek! I can recommend a few good introductory texts and you should definitely get some of the classic Loeb dual-language volumes.

You think you're so smart because you choose to believe historical accounts from thousands of years ago that don't hold a candle to the level of scrutiny, nor have the breadth of veracity, that the Bible does.

Spare me your nonsense, you say I don't understand the concepts then refer to "weird acts of human sacrifice".  Congrats on copying and pasting Greek.  I'm thoroughly impressed!

You can find legal, public domain pdf's of the Loeb library online. I think Archive.com has some older editions but not much has changed so they're still good. The "facing page" dual-language structure is a really great way to learn how to read it, but you'll have to introduce yourself to the alphabet first, which can be a bit daunting if you haven't taken any higher level math, which I have to presume you haven't, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, happy reading and let me know when you get to extant Koine manuscripts of the Septuagint! We have so much to discuss!

You're right boogie, we should ease up. Myself, in particular.

Sorry @Mike31mt, when I get rolling sometimes it takes on a life of its own.

As an olive branch, I'll post a Jesus fish... which is something we can both like because fish are our common ancestors.
