"This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in — an interesting hole I find myself in — fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.”

lol, Ray conveniently leaves out the fact that humans engineered the modern banana.

Not at all. I do not discount those Christians who do good works. A family member is a Lutheran Minister, and he is a holy man. Walks the walk. Both of my kids are baptized, although I am not.

They seem to be a quiet minority. The vocal majority of those pretending to be Christian in the USA, are like Lauren Boebert. No turn the other cheek, no love for their fellow humans, and certainly no love for anyone DIFFERENT from them, and certainly not strangers, REGARDLESS of where those people are Christian or not.

Bitter people like you condemning gays, despite what Jesus told you to do about ANYONE.

I never condemned gays, just said it's a sin which it is by Christian doctrine and that is a fact. Ask your Minister family member.

Your problem is that you only want to accept a sliver of Christian teachings, and have your own idea of what Christianity should be based on that. Unfortunately for you it's not like that and it has nothing to do with being "different".  It's the fact that we won't accept your modified version of Christianity based on liberal nonsense

A defined moral code.

The love your neighbor, wash hookers' feet, turn the other cheek code of the New Testament?

The send a wrath of bears to kill children for making fun of a bald prophet, sell your disobedient daughter into slavery, stone your mother for planting two crops side by side in her garden, with extra stones because she has clothing made of two types of cloth, code of the Old Testament?

From what I see a majority of US Christians want Leviticus, not Jesus. Then they make themselves into immense hypocrites, by proudly proclaiming support for a guy who paid off a porn star. A guy selling bibles and gold sneakers, with culty followers that put up gold statues of him.

Yeah you only choose to see what you want because it fits your juvenile warped view of the world

Again, largest religion on the planet.  If "most" Christians wanted to live by the old testament teachings--which is completely stupid because the entire point of Christianity is to establish a new covenant with God in place of the Old Testament--you would know it

He lacks a fundamental understanding of God.

Why would God create a perfect world?  For as intelligent as he thinks he is, he is very ignorant.

He is lashing out at God, angry that he isn't one himself and actually puts himself above his creator.

Happy Easter!

Name a single instance ever in any part of history, where matter was created from nothing, or where life was created from non-life.

Has this ever, in the history of human knowledge, been observed a single time?

Yeah, I'm glad I don't follow that God that allows something as tragic as bond cancer in kids.

And which God? Are around 2000 of them? And why is yours the best?

What God? Are around 1700 of them?

The one true God who created his son in his image to suffer mercilessly and die at the hands of men.

The notion that "bad things exist therefore there is no God" is foolish.  Everything Jesus said was for the afterlife, not our life on earth which clearly includes horrible suffering which he himself demonstrated.

Jesus said over and over again, those who are last on earth will be first, who lose their life will gain it, repeating these themes.

There is no promise of total piety leading to a total avoidance of suffering on earth.  In fact it's quite the opposite.  Jesus himself said this many many times.

We have enough evidence supporting abiogenesis to form a plausible theory for the origin of life on Earth.

Are you seriously gonna argue against evolution by invoking creationism as a counter point? How old do you think the Earth is?

Yes, those Christians wanking about old testament values are idiots.

Have you ever observed or read about anything other than your own warped world. Your largest religion in the world is divided by tens of thousands of different sects, denominations, and cults who argue with each other about what a "true” Christian is. Maybe stop trying to fix others, and try working on yourself first?

He refused to answer that the last time I asked him that, which was the exact answer I thought he would give.

I even gave him multiple choices and asked if he thought the Earth's age should be measured in thousands, millions, or billions of years and he refused to commit to an answer lmao

That's the same thing as saying 13.5 Billion +/- 13.5 Billion

Give him a break, he's just using broader error bars

According to the atheist, TEW, Christianity is, in part, based on creationism, and all Christians are YEC.
