Gannon was terrible too. Ultimately its the head coach's responsibility. If we had done better on time of possession, Gannon's screw ups wouldn't have mattered. For the life of me, I can't understand all the excuses fans make for Sirianni and his 6 play Tecmo bowl offense. Go watch the offenses of other playoff teams. Its not even comparable. Sirianni isn't a real head coach.

Not about excuses it's about being rational. I think there's notable downsides for the Eagles as an organization if they take the irrational approach and bounce him immediately. There is a considerable chance it will turn off top coaching talent from coming to Philadelphia, combined with what happened to Doug.

I also think it sets a terrible precedent. If what Nick has done isn't good enough, then pretty much the only thing that will appease the fanbase is a McVay, Shanahan, Reid level coach - so the types that have entire coaching trees. And that has been VERY rare in modern football.

You don't bounce a guy before trying to make it work. As for your argument about other playoff teams...

I want to point out to you that, once again, the highest position John Harbaugh held before getting a head coaching job was Special Teams Coordinator. So in that case, he's probably pretty reliant on his coordinators right? But the Ravens make it work with the 4th highest win percentage of all teams since 2000. So if the board's interpretation is right, and Harbaugh is so useless, why don't the Ravens fire him?

There's tons of different ways to run NFL teams, that's why.

I get that they won't fire him for the reasons you mentioned. However, for me...I think it was a ridiculously stupid hire in the first place. We should still have Doug as our coach.

Harbaugh is a good leader of men. Same with Tomlin. Can Sirianni be that? I guess it's possible, but I don't see it. He claims though that his is HIS offense. They aren't winning anything with this terrible scheme.

So yeah bring in a guru to change the offense like Harbaugh did and hope for the best.

Okay so this, I can actually 100% agree with. I'll even break it down.

So this is a sentiment I can get behind. I realize at the time both sides got stubborn which dissolved the partnership, but there was really no reason OTHER than that which required Doug to be fired. It was just a super sad situation for all sides. Though as a note, that doesn't mean Sirianni's hire at the time was stupid, just Doug's firing.

This is fair yep, though I think it's important to note this can come in many forms.

I mentioned before that I think we might have gotten a dud scheme. It's likely one of those things that can work but only if you understand every nuance of it, and I think the only person who did was Shane. This can happen with younger coaches unfortunately, which is why it's good to pair them with a veteran coach on their side of the ball. This is actually a reason I don't like it when coaches were mostly raised under a single system unless they're people who are second generation to established coaches (think Shanahan and his dad).

So all in all yeah, I can get these sentiments, agree with you here.

12-5 with this schedule and the loses moved around there wouldn’t be a peep

Tbh I think all NFL fans right now want a head coach who is cutting edge on the offensive side of the ball. They see the offensive minds around the league who are constantly adapting, always have productive offenses no matter who the QB is and are jealous of it. And perhaps the biggest reason is when you don't have that in a head coach, and have to rely on your coordinator for that, you're going to lose that coordinator.

I don't think anyone was ever sold on Sirianni as some offensive savant. Or Sirianni in general. Because of how quickly Doug fell off when it looked like he was going to be the next great Eagles coach, fans had skepticism with Sirianni over the early success. And if fans don't believe he is some offensive savant, they're going to want to move on, regardless of how many playoffs he makes unless they're winning Super Bowls. Fair? Maybe, maybe not, but I don't think Doug was treated fairly necessarily either and the team hasn't really regretted firing him. The thing is, winning is so contextual it's hard to just declare that the coach is solely responsible for it when you watch the games and don't like what you're seeing. Most fans will trust their eyes first and foremost.

Because they were winning

But they didn't look good doing it in most of their wins. Can you honestly say that this team, specifically the offense had one game where they were great from start to finish?

ok whatever was happening behind closed doors clearly didn't improve their play over the course of the season.

This is true

Absolutely pathetic. Coaches are incompetent and players don’t give a sheet.

sad how it’s gone this season. Super Bowl hangovers are real

I just hope they sack him straight after the WC game we lose so we can all move on and get started as early as possibly

Eh, I'm getting the scenario I wanted, however I didn't want the starters to play at all. So I hope AJ is healthy and Hurts doesn't have any issues with the finger. REST EVERYONE NOW and prep for the Bucs!

You think this team can beat anyone? They are a joke.

Okay I have had enough im in. Ain’t got the words. Fire him

Let Patricia coach the playoff game. Lose to Baker 70-0 and then see what Jeff does lol.

Get rid of this clown.  Time to clean house.  Most embarrassing collapse of all time, even worse than 1994.

Team definitely looks like they gave up

The team no longer buys into the flower power talk. They no longer can get by with a nice motivational speaker. They need a head coach capable of designing offensive plays. They need a defensive coordinator who knows how to coach. They need a new voice. Siri has run his course.

That said, if next year is a rebuilding year while they fix the cap issues, that's the only reason to keep him around.

Anybody still not onboard for firing Siri should go play in traffic.

I’d rather add a new coach especially if it’s going to be a rebuild year.

They have to! They have to bring in a new HC because otherwise it’s likely to be 2 dead years.

You potentially lose two seasons giving Siri a lame duck season and then brining in new ideas especially if this is a rebuild.

That’s what I mean bud. The likelihood of a new HC coming in the year after next and turning it round is slim. It could happen but it’s unlikely.

Yup. Just pull off the bandaid. New coordinators and a new coach.

I’m finally on board after that first half, it’s impossible to defend
