Smitty runs shallower routes(that I see), so I believe he will have a nice game as will Goedert. The main things we need to do is disrupt Nix. Don't have to sack him necessarily, but throw his timing off. if we can't keep him from getting hot, he could panic and set up some picks. IDK how experienced he is at silent counts. It will be loud at the Linc. That could disrupt him as well. The run stoppers need to show up. More of the same, stop the run, play seamless zones. They will of course be trying to snuff Barkley,so I would like to see some Shipley sightings this game. Now that we have shown the fake tush push , teams will have to figure out if we are running that play or faking them out, They now need to worry about the Shovel passes at the GL. I have this game alot higher than Joe. I sure understand his reasoning, but with persistent drives, this could turn into a shoot out especially if Smitty gets hot and Hurts can beat the edges. Like to get the slot guy(Dotson) involved too

Long punts too. If there is a guy to notice an extra juiced detail that hasn’t been the norm in the NFL it would be our DC. Heck…he already has gone through this juicing the specific K Ball years back. This made me remember how Vic is very thorough about the stats and numbers. This kind of thing I bet sticks out as huge red flag to that Cat. So much of D philosophy coaching and execution from decades ago just can’t be applied equally to today. Kickers have been really just routinely launching successful 50 plus yard field goals for years now. Huge effect on a DC philosophy and approach.

Unless it is one of the scripted plays called at the beginning of the game NO play call is made during game preparation, certainly no play call that happens in the 2nd Half. But if there is a story that says that play was called during the prep for the game, I would love to see it. Provide us with a link to that story. But setting aside the preparation for that play, and concentrating on the actual play call itself, tell me what you believe was the sequence of events that happened from the 2:47 timeout called by the officials up to the snap of the ball to Hurts. There was some a slow news period where Hurts brought up how he preps for each opponent and provides our coaches with his plays he believes in both our own execution and opponent susceptibility. Hurts provided O coaches with The Dagger for that game.
Friday at 10:05 PM1 day Then very clearly Siri barks at Moore to call The Dagger. Easily could even deduct Moore resisted with a differing idea….by the way Siri barks at him to just call it….order!

Friday at 10:08 PM1 day On 10/2/2025 at 12:49 AM, mattwill said:No, "just call it” is the logical response to Moore who through headset communication with Hurts is trying to decide whether to call the play or not. He isn’t 100% sure whether to do it or not, and he runs the idea (and his uncertainty) by Sirianni. Sirianni has no uncertainty and very clearly says do.You are terrible at picking up such very obvious details. Always trying to explain it to fit your misguided opinions on what’s going on with the O coaching. He straight calls…and demands Moore to run the Dagger.

Historically strong Strength of Schedule against opponents who are 9-2-1 in their games other than against the Eagles. That is a .792 win-loss percentage. No other 4-0 team in NFL history has faced a first four set of opponents with a better composite record. It can be both …and indeed it is

Something I like about Siri. It’s all about confidence in your players. At some point it comes down to can you beat the other guy and get that one yard. Niners are real tough in this area.

Through all these years Vic already faced a huge change with the K game stepping up so much with routine 50 yard field goals. Now add in this huge boost and that scoring range is half the dang field now. No longer the 30.
