Just me,but I would look at my defense. If they weren't gassed I would defer. If they WERE gassed I would let my offense go first. Both D's played hard all game, both were gassed,so I would want their D back on the field and let mine rest a little. So for me there is no real definitive answer

They were gassed…that’s a whole other part of reality at play

Going backwards you preferred..I see, NOT

Hurts manages both, going backwards AND not doing the tush push because he made his side deal already

He would have scored a TD from the two Brotherly Shoving. Instead just crap….which he actually did throw a TD in those conditions too…called back by penalty.

The play calling was suspect but in this case the play of QB1 was MUCH more so

Did he get married or something?

Yeah he got married, then did the side deal where he isn't going to run and put himself at risk. Just a total SELLOUT AFTER he got the big money

The fact that the 3 time they ran to the left, off or outside the tackle including the TD they gained good yardage. And never went that way again

At the end of the game they threw the ball which stopped the clock. Had they run it they would have forced the Chargers to use ALL their time outs and maybe used enough clock to end the game

2 examples i can think of off the top of my head anyway

Correct... basically putting the ball unnecessarily in the QBs hands. But we do know on the read option plays it's the QB making the final decision.

I'm with you on that game management part that I put on Siri. Run vs pass to me is a clock thing which is head coach. Same with go for it , punt or kick a FG. Im not in love with how Siri has managed the game this year.

But I also have to admit when I said run the ball and we hit a 20 yard pass, that I could be wrong.

Last 2 weeks there were plays to be made ...easy reads, easy throws...and last night some catches that should have been made.

For me... I get annoyed when they call something I would do differently..

But then when the play is there and it's easy execution that causes the play not to work...the players mistakes trump the play call for me. Last night Hurts and AJ were by far #1 and #2 in the blame game.

I'll give you mine. Barkley was running well to the left... Hurts was struggling. There was a drive where it ended after we didn't run it on 3 straight plays.

To me the biggest issue of the play calling is giving Hurts the rope to hang himself. He isn't a 40 attempt per game type of QB. Too inconsistent

Last year, Bark and the O line carried Hurts to the SB, now he made a side deal and quit on everyone

Eagles 2.2 yards per rush while in shotgun

8.8 yards per rush when under center

They ran 51 plays from shotgun

15 from under center

More playcalling

You think the QB has anything to do with that part?

The tush push no longer works like it did. You need to watch the games

Because Dickerson isn't healthy. He is the key on the play. They go right over him.

How he lead them to win The SB

That was the O line and Bark last year. You need to watch the games

No way…want the ball first for sure

You kick a FG...I now have 4 downs instead of 3 to play offense. It happened in the playoffs and Mahomes was shockingly saying that the other team was taking the ball...was a whole thing where KC won after they kicked off in OT and Reid and all the players confirmed they would have kicked off if they won the toss.

So you are going against your idol Andy Reid here on this

TP is now down to 65% success rate,as opposed to 85% last year. So to make 2 in a row work is highly unlikely, but keep dreaming LOL

You go 2nd so you know what you have to do... the obvious strategy.

When did they go backwards? From the 2 back to the 2?

I'm trying to explain to Ham that it's not working like last year. No sense getting into details until he faces the reality of his(compromised) super boy

We gave up 34 yards on 7 plays. Does that seem gassed?

Unless my D is totally gassed. Putting them right back on the field to defend is tougher to do, so as for me it would depend on that. If they are good to go then sure I go 2nd

That is hindsight. There is no way to know until you play the snaps. If Siri can't read them right.that's on him

We ended up kicking a field goal from the 12. 2 yard line back to the 12 yard line…THATS BACKWARDS

Terrible strategy

So dumb. If we kick the field goal…they had the opportunity to come back and win it…which they would have. You take the ball in OT!! Get more than one chance in several potential scenarios.

All it did really was put extra pressure on us that we gave them the ball first in OT

Here are the analytics. Each team gets roughly 11.5 offensive series per game. Of course this is an average. So, you defer in regulation so you get your 6 series in the 2nd 1/2(5 in the first) Team that gets the ball first gets their 6 in the first.5 in the second, so what you say there is true. Now lets go to OT. The analytics say you would have 2.875 series(per 1/4) and as you know if you get the ball first and score a TD(here is the imperative) that you can put more pressure on the opponent because now they have to score a TD, a FG won't work. They key in OT is to get that TD on your first drive(we did not) so taking the ball first and scoring a TD gives you the advantage, but once again for me it depends on how badly my D is gassed. So that is a coaching read. So either one is possible for me depending on the condition of my players and once again you need to score a TD on the first drive, let your D rest to hopefully hold them to a FG(which does no good and forces them into 4th downs to have a chance tie)
