I think Howie tried with Schwartz the picks just didn’t pan out…. We tend to forget Howie did draft Sidney Jones who was being looked at as a high to mid first rounder pre injury and Rasul Douglas(super underrated player want a shutdown but was a solid DB).

Derek Barnett just felt like a Schwartz type of player as well who was ok but underperformed 1st rounder

Also Schwartz hand picked guy in Bradham in FA similar to Buan for Vic at LB… also went and grabbed Cunningham another guy that had a history with Schwartz that didn’t do well.

Would be interesting to see what Schwartz could do with Davis and Carter though he was always more of a DL guy even got the most out of Fat Albert Haynesworth in Tennessee then of course we see Myles Garrett just dominate under Schwartz went to another level

IDK wasn't really a fan, didn't hate the guy. He seemed to do the minimum like Hurts did and will keep doing. I hope this new OC uses Tank a bit more. I think he even had a better YPC average than Bark

That scrub Gainwell was really missed too

If we lose Landon and Lane can’t say I’ll have much faith in any RB on this team let alone a ground game we really will have to rely on Hurts and his arm

Steen is more of a pass protector, Jurguens can move and pull but isn’t a mauler in the ground game. Mailata is strong in ground game but we seen him struggle trying to mask the injured Dickerson what happens when we have someone new and worse next to him? A less then 100% Dickerson is still better then most Gs in the league

Yeah Bark(and Tank) will be going back to the crap O line Bark had in NY

Looking at the worst case scenario for this Eagles team we will need

2 OL- Dickerson/Lane retire and that doesn’t even bring up if we think Jurguens is the long term answer at C or if Steen is worthy starting G

2 WRs- AJ likely traded and still need a #3

TE- even if we bring Geodart back we need a long term replacement

RB- maybe not an immediate need but something we should at least start considering Saquon is about to be 30 how many more miles does he have left in the tank.

And havent even mentioned the D needs

On defense

2 DBs- need that CB 2 on the outside and probably a S not sure we get Blank back

Edge- graham sounds like he will play another year but that’s a bandaid only really have Nolan and Hunt no depth

Interior DL- not sure we can keep the trio of Ojomo, Davis, Carter likely only extend Davis and Carter and depth is thin need a future starter

LB- Dean will be gone we have Campbell and Buan is Trot jr the guy?

Joe also posted a still pic showing 3 guys open and Hurts missed the pass anyhow. If he's a rookie,OK,but not 6 years in

Now too many changes and Hurts can't handle them. new OC will be forced back into the KISS offense with possibly an even worse O line. I will give the new guys slack as I did with Patullo who didn't impress me much either. But the game is played by players not coaches. Execution was horrible all over

Biggest problem was drop off in talent level. Becton was a monster in 2024. Johnson was out a good chunk of the year and the playoffs. Dickerson and Jurgens were hurt bad. You put a healthy 2024 line out during 2025, and the team overcomes a lot more of the offensive coaching deficiencies.

Coaching can only overcome so much. If a line gets decimated by injury, the team's record suffers. Happened in 2012 and in 2020 - both years where head coaches were fired. IIRC, Stout was coaching the OL during 2020.
