No,but Ham wanted to draft one in round 1. There are no round 1 worthy RB's in this draft, let alone"elite"

I never said anything like that

4.43 for my LB prospect I’m real high on…smokin!

Can you say climbing the draft boards boys and girls?

Barkley will want too much money.and Howie won't pay it

You’re not wrong but the point was I’d rather pay the 9-10m a year price for  a 3 down guy like Barkley then 7m for guy like Swift who is a liability in pass protection and reasons we seen gainwell in key spots over the season.

RBBC fine with also but we can go cheaper and get similar production as to swift… Moss from the Colts could be another nice add mid round RB in the draft… Singletsry from the Texans possibly, take a flier on Dobbins hopefully he can stay healthy, CEH been a bust for KC but only 24 former 1st rounder

Lmao since I’m not the old interesting side note grew up with Jordan Magee Lb from temple used to play pickup basketball with him… crazy seeing him at the combine going to get drafted… would be lying if my bias isn’t there for him to get draft by us either

Sounds like you have similar ideas to my thoughts on this subject. Think you are lowballing Saquan here. Pretty much not worth my efforts to even contemplate us retaining Swift. I really am not much of a fan of signing players to contracts when I believe they are sitting on their high ceiling mark. Exactly how I see Swift’s situation. But feel the need to point out the obvious here about him. Even at his high after having a Pro Bowl season….6 mil per annually is likely all it will cost to retain him. Which isn’t even large backup rotational money for other positions.

I’d choose the two young vet FA RBs. Probably spend about the same on two as just Swift.

I think 10m range sounds about right for Barkley … But he is hard to gauge it’s a guy that is 27 coming off a down season, has injury history but the upside if he is healthy on a way better team could sway things as well. There is always a chance teams are willing to over pay. But like you said it wont be us why I also don’t think we will pay Swift

Gainwell I don’t consider guaranteed to pan out even. Whole new O now for him to learn. So much is his positives are now lost in the coaching switch.

I don’t see 10 as overpaying for Saquan. He’s a leader and strong character type person.

Think we got to get serious here. Not so general thinking about league wide…and what so many other teams will choose to need to do. Our goals should be very specific. Easily identify our main focus. Always need to build within and concentrate on ourselves all around. But been pretty darn cut and dry situation for us. Seems like it’s been going on for years. Our mission is to beat the Cowboys and the Niners.

What’s it going to take to beat Dallas and Santa Clara?

Any players that give us a distinct advantage in those two matchups are worth twice as much to us as any so called  market.

These are great traits for guys to have but we aren’t paying a guy 10m+ to be a strong character and leader lol…. You pay guys to perform….  Also said 10m is about the right range and stated I would not be shocked if a team overpaid him meaning Barkley gets an offer to be paid around Kamara or CMC in that what 14-16m range or even give him highest paid RB money of a teams desperate enough

Detroit I feel has earned their recent position in the hierarchy of the NFC. Feels so weird to say about the Lions. Never uttered that statement about them ever in my life.

Wouldn’t matter if we can’t get to those matchups for those players lol can’t build a team solely focused on beating 1-2 teams there are 30 other teams in the NFL…. And no telling which teams raise up out of nowhere… I’d be more worried about Detroit moving forward v SF or Dallas think both teams fall off…

If not for bad management of the game Lions should have been in the SB

I see strong character and leader as very crucial pieces to paying up that extra big money to a top player. These are important aspects that shape each team. Chauncey Gardner Johnson is an easy fresh example. Played fantastic on the field. But not the leader and right kind of locker room presence to lift up others. The pro that sets the example for all the others to follow is a crucial piece to a winning locker room.

Green Bay is the potential rising team I’m considering. But doesn’t really matter if we fail to get far enough for the Niners matchup to matter…or not. The goal…is the goal. Our odds and legitimate claim towards being any real contender can’t ignore the Niners. They are there every year. A failure to plan a way to beat Santa Clara in the 2024 season isn’t acceptable.

Didn’t Johnson turn us down lol we offered the man what like a 3 year 24m deal roughly what 8m a year lol clearly was a guy we had interest in that bet on himself to be able to make more

I’m really not so sure at this point I can agree with your statement about focusing so massively on just beating two teams. Feels like I would have agreed and stated the same myself most of my life. But it’s really been beat the cowboys and Niners situation for us for years now.

We can even say how wrong our decision was to not pay Johnson who had another good year for the lions while our secondary just looked old and slow

He was disgruntled over the structuring of that rumored deal. We low balled him really hard in my view. But he isn’t a very bright guy. Has a bad agent. Rumors made his gripe about our offer seem to focus very much on him looking at the cap management hits part of the contract more so than his take home pay.

We couldn’t even beat TB like come on now again doesn’t matter if we build the best team ever to play against Dallas/SF if we can’t beat the 30 other teams in the nfl.

Rather just build our team and force the rest to focus on builds team that can stop us not the other way around
