Goodell is looking at the money and doesn't care about fans wanting it canceled
September 1, 20241 yr Is this game only gonna be on peacock for out of market? Like that one wild card game this past year (Chiefs dolphins iirc).

That would solve everything. Everyone can see the NFL's greed, and it's NOT a good look. The only reason it is playing in Brazil is $$- no player wants to go.

September 1, 20241 yr I see that some are calling for the game to be cancelled due to the situation with 'X'. I doubt they will do that at this late date, but if they did, it would put the game in Philly. So I'm all for it.

I know plenty of people who have gone to Brazil, and while I have heard some hairy stories, I don't know anybody who was hurt.

It is making people sick: asthma/breathing issues, red eyes, and runny noses. But I have not heard anyone seriously cancelling the game. Could they play in Philly instead?

The murder rate in the restaurants and bars of the Sao Paolo Hilton and the Corinthians training facilities is as near zero as makes no odds and that's where they'll be staying the entire time they're not playing the game.

I think the murder/crime rates have been overblow....what isn't overblow is that the NFL is a short season and EVERY game matters and to make two teams travel like this is just stupid. Making them travel to a country/city that is having major fire issues and play with poor air quality is irresponsible.
September 2, 20241 yr Current live picture of Sao Paulo Airport......yeah, that air quality is definitely worth having high tuned athletes play in!!

September 2, 20241 yr From Accuweather. It looks like the weather will change in Sao Paulo on Friday. Winds on Friday are forecast SE 10 mph gusting 24 mph. Night E 7 mph gusting 20 mph. Sao Paulo is pretty much on the eastern coast of Brazil it seems like an easterly wind would blow the smoke inland and away from Sao Paulo.

It's the NFL's half assed approach to growing the game internationally. If they want to really grow the game, they have to commit fully and long term to leagues in Europe and South America, maybe at first treat it like the MLB farm system for college prospects that need a bit more seasoning, Every team has a feeder team in either Europe or South America. Hell you could even consider funding a college system in cahoots with a couple of the big NCAA Conferences, there are Universities in the UK who would leap at another source of cashflow.
