August 3Aug 3 They got rid of Nettles but kept some of the story - non-spoiler belowA 16-year-old commoner of uncertain parentage who successfully claimed the wild dragon Sheepstealer by bringing him a freshly slaughtered sheep every morningDeveloped a close, ambiguous bond with Prince Daemon Targaryen, which ultimately leads to a spoiler that started last nightConsidering they did the whole maybe a non-Targ dragon rider thing anyway, not sure why they didn't use the character for what unfolds later. As for the show. It has its moments that are good to great, and others where I just DGAF. Can't wait for certain things to happen now so the story can just move on from the stale stuff we've been given.
August 3Aug 3 From last nightSunfire showing up and having the same face as Aegon now was awesome - loved that scene. We need more of him and less of Rhaenyra at this point - the first two seasons were designed to make you feel sympathetic towards the Blacks but this season has been a reversal of that for me.

August 10Aug 10 I think they wanted a death to end the season on as a teaser for next season - payoff the build up. That was the easiest one to expedite outside of the larger spectacle that happened - it's not like the program has stayed loyal to GRRMs cliff notes book version.SpoilerJames Norton playing Ormund did a heck of a job, even in the characters death, The dude deserves more than doing UK dometic TV and Theatre.

August 10Aug 10 I should have said a Targ death, presumably to forebode the story next season. Perhaps things like that are why Ryan Condell and GRRM are not exactly on speaking terms anymore. One doesn't want it to go the way of ASOIAF and the other is a TV exec wanting to make it make sense for TV.Supposedly the scene with some butterflies could be a dig at GRRM for his blog post about poisonous butterflies.Now the other big death was a very AGOT one. I just wish we'd had more from the perp before that.
