Y'all are being way too critical.  This guy plays with a chip on his shoulder.  Big-time over achiever, smart, hard worker.

Just based on the last few months, the impression I get is he went to a college program that lacks a quality coaching staff. When he got to the senior bowl, he responded very positively to a higher tier of coaching and it seems he's really hungry to be coached. When you take a prospect that is smart and coachable ... and a good athlete, there's no reason not to be optimistic about his future.

Now halfway into the 2024 season, does anyone have a good feel for what we have seen from Jalyx Hunt and what we should expect going forward?

He's only had 42 snaps so far. When he has been in, he wasn't invisible. He has a sack and Sunday he deflected a pass at the LOS. I don't think his lack of snaps so far is a surprise. He was a raw prospect coming from a weak program. But he has flashed in TC, practice, and his limited opportunity in NFL games. Unless injuries force the issue, I don't expect much playing time from him this year. He should be much more prepared to challenge for time by the start of next season.

OK, cool, thanks.

Sounds promising.  I like both that he's seen some non-trivial game action and that he has not looked like an imposter out there.  2024 could wind up a heckuva draft haul if he turns out to be a player.

Here's his snaps from Sunday.

He didn't have any clean wins in the pass game but showed good awareness in getting his hands up when the qb was looking in his direction. He batted one pass and almost had another. The Cowboys didn't run his way at all, which is a surprise. Still he seemed to set the edge when needed and did a nice job pursuing from the back side.

He also had a nice play on an interception where he occupied a blocker and gave a blitzer a free run at the qb.

Overall a nice first "real" game for him.
