I'm not sure how well Fangio and Sirianni will get along either when it comes to on field since Fangio is definitely old school where as Nick is in that new coach mold like McDaniel. I hope Nick remains predominately hands off on the defense side because I can see easy conflicts with his approach vs Fangio's. Also don't want to see a bad cop/good cop dynamic with so many young players.

Fangio as much as said that Nick is the boss at his presser.

I am sure it's overflow from how McDaniel got along with Fangio too.  My hope is that BG and Slay are not alienated because they will set the mood for the defense.

My hope is very few Eagles players look to Slay for leadership, because he's clearly not a leader.

And why is he still here?  🤔

There are a lot of HCs who leave the coordinators to do their jobs. Jon Harbaugh for one. Jim Lee Howell for another.

Baltimore doesn't seem to have those questions. It's not like Harbaugh is in on those things. It's a viable model, just people seem to have a real bias against it and specifically against him. Now if you want to say that the team's collapse at the end of last year shows he didn't handle the last part of what he's supposed to do, I guess that's fair, but he's shown he's willing to work on himself and accept change, so we'll just have to see I guess.

Uh... yes.   That's exactly what I have been saying.   He's supposed to be a culture guy, not an X and O guy.   But the culture AND the Xs and Os went to crap.  And it ultimately seemed to pivot on his decision to switch DCs midstream.   Normally, that's a risky decision for job security.   It's one of those moves where it had better work, because if its doesn't, the one who made that decision gets fired.   Oh well.

And when they collapse like this team did last year, I'll ask the same question.   The HC as primarily only a tone setter and culture builder is great... up until the tone and the culture fall apart.

And more importantly, we don't actually have assurance that Sirianni won't be putting his hand into the offense's cookie jar.  In fact, on the contrary, the conversation publicly is that they will work together and look to meld the two philosophies.   I really hope that Sirianni DOES just let the coordinators do their jobs... but I don't think he will.

He can be the boss and he can also let Fangio do his thing. Keep it like Pederson did with Schwartz.

I’m sure Fangio has a free hand. Just looking at the draft, the free agents, and the defensive coach hires makes that clear.

That's not exactly the impression I have with the player acquisitions.

Howies "I bet Vic wishes he had more say" which was a joke but might have some truth to it.

Vic's "Howie asked me to watch tape on Huff"

Vic's inability to name more than 1 LB'er without looking at his roster sheet.

but you add in the fact that the same coach went to the SB the year before and it becomes hard to fire him, you look reactionary and impatient as an organization, especially after he lost both coordinators the year before so he's the "stability" on the team from the SB year to this year, basically he's shown if he has competent help he can get us there (not my opinion, per se, but that is what I would bet the front office's view is). I get the frustration, but he gets this year to prove he can put it back together. If he can't, he's gone, I would think.

The biggest problem is Siri is going to meddle in the offense and screw Moore up. They should never have kept Siri, but they did, and he is going to be a problem until they let him go.

It's almost unbelievable that people don't understand the difference between a head coach and a coordinator.  Almost.

Sydney Brown isn't practicing but sprinting on a side field.

Bradberry supposedly isn't there.

We've already been told it's still Nicks offense sadly

Disgusting

Lane Johnson, DeVonta Smith, Josh Sweat and Kelee Ringo also not there.

Zack Baun is with the off-ball LB'ers

You seriously believe they brought Moore in to run Nick’s offense?

Wonder if Baun is with the outside or inside guys

I think Fangio has pretty free rein on the defense design and calls, within certain limitations but Nick sets the practice duration and the degree of contact.  But it’s not a vacuum.  Offensive and defensive coaches will talk and offer input to each other.

Believe? That's what was said in the PC. It's still his offense

I don't believe that was the plan.   I think they brought in Moore to fix Nick's offense.      And they said that this was going to be his offense.   Personally, I'd love nothing more than for Moore to run the whole show on offense.   I'd have loved if Moore was the HC, and not just the OC.  But, failing that, I'd love for Moore to have complete control of the entire offense.  I'd prefer if Sirianni were just the figurehead at the top and didn't get involved in the day to day operations of either the offense or the defense.  I just don't think that's going to be the outcome.
