I feel pretty confident in saying that any Eagles fan who thinks Brian Dawkins was a better player than Reggie White never watched Reggie White play for the Eagles.

Dawkins isn’t even 2nd, Bednarik is.

Depending on how the next 4-5 years go, Lane might have a say.

Jalen Carter has potential as well, the most from a young player we have had since maybe Reggie?

Dawk is more of the fan favorite.

White is the better player.

Yup.   And White gets knocked down in the eyes of many fans, because he left for GB.   BUT, those of us who remember understand the nuances of all of that.   White was chosen by the NFLPA to be a primary litigant in the lawsuit for free agency, because of his status as the best defensive player in the league at that time, and that aligned with his contract status with the contract ending that year made him the best option to be a primary litigant.  He became the face of the lawsuit.   And, then when he won he was awarded free agency, he almost had to sign elsewhere to bring legitimacy to the process.   Then, add on top of it that the cheap skate Norman Braman wouldn't even offer him a contract, and you have the end result.  He left for GB, but having played his best football in Philly.   21 sacks in 12 games is a crazy record that won't be touched... ever.   18 sacks the year after in 16 games.   When he left, he had more sacks recorded than games played.  That's nuts.   And if not for Bruce Smith hanging on forever, would still be the all-time sack leader.

The real comparison for GOAT isn't about Dawkins... its about Steve Van Buren.   Van Buren was the first ever player to surpass 1000 yards rushing in multiple seasons (Back then it was a 12 game season).  He led them to 2 consecutive titles, and retired as the all-time rushing leader in the league.   Granted, his record was later demolished as the game changed, seasons were extended, but he's the guy that I would put up against White for GOAT, not Dawkins... and I love Dawkins and see him as one of the greatest safeties to have ever played the game.  But White and Van Buren are ahead of him for me.

PHLY Eagles coverage is really struggling to find things to have shows about right now. Going to be a rough couple months until camp. Unless the Eagles make some type of a big move, which is unlikely.

I just don't get the format of having to do one show for each team 5 days a week. Maybe their sponsors require it, but jeez, they should've known it was overkill going in.

I’d go with Peterson over Moss for the Vikings. This could be debated as well but I like Steve Smith over Cam for the Panthers. Take away the 2015 season and it’s not close

Alan Page should be unquestionably the pick for the Vikings.  I agree it should be Steve Smith for the Panthers.  I don't understand how it wouldn't be Joe Namath for the Jets.

I liked the Brandon Brooks episode.  They should work to get on more guests.

Neither did the guy that posted the list.  He was probably the most dominant NFL lineman of the 1970s.

So he switched into a terrible number and is going to force the Eagles from listing him as a DE to LB, all in a contract year which will probably be his last big payday if he hits FA.

He has a terrible agent.

Purple people eaters? That’s all I know about the Vikings from the 70s. I think Tarkenton was their QB… wasn’t born yet

It's free. The only thing you have to pay for is a subscription to some of the articles.

Alan Page literally ate opposing players.  He was the people eater before the NFL outlawed cannibalism.  #soft

AND Associate Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. How's that for high level accomplishment in two unrelated fields?

I'm just glad Troy Aikman isn't being mentioned as the face of the Cowboys. There was a video posted about a week or so ago about how overrated he is. Now, I know the NFL and football has changed but his individual numbers are so uninspiring.

Somehow he has 3 Super Bowls and is in the HOF. Is that because of Emmitt Smith and the OL? Jimmy Johnson? Everyone talks about Trent Dilfer and how any QB could have taken the Ravens to the SB with that defense. I think you put any average QB on the 90s Cowboys and you get the same result. Aikman wasn't it.

Packers -- Rodgers over Favre?

Favre threw a ton of interceptions. Rodgers has the highest career passing rating and lowest interception percentage in NFL history. Favre was a hoot to watch though.

Looks good on those breakdowns. Would like to see him in the slot. I am also wondering when Fangio throws Ringo in at safety in practice just to get a look, will he look better than anticipated there. I still think he looked better facing the ball rather having his back to it, though he still can develop of course. But if he's naturally better at one thing maybe that's just where he will most likely succeed and even have a higher ceiling.

These conversations are why I miss the old NFL Films Saturday morning shows and highlight clips. I wasn't alive during the 60s and 70s but NFL Films did such a great job of showing the history of the game that you knew who all of these guys were. It seems like NFL history starts with the Patriots dynasty years now. My nephew is 14 and a HUGE football fan but he doesn't know anything pre-2000.

Yea, Brett Favre is one of my favorite players ever to watch. Pure entertainment and love of the game. Absolutely love watching the old films with Mike Holmgrem and his young staff trying to couch up Favre. So many future Eagles coaches and some players you get to see too. With all that being said, he "only" has one Super Bowl and like you said, tons of INTs. End of his career kind of tarnished his status a bit too.

Yeah that's what I meant.  Is anybody paying to read articles that are generally the same as all the other articles on the internet?

My older brother is a life long Packers fan - since before Lombardi. He said he lost a lot of respect for Favre with his 'will I retire or won't I' crap.

Fans already turning on the Kelce's.
