WR3 should be used as an agile, shifty target in the short middle more than a vertical field stretcher.  Both Brown and Smith are more than capable of getting open deep

Agreed. Ainias Smith has a real shot to be the man in the slot. Shifty, tough, and good hands.

Great player. RIP.

Damn. As much as I hate the logo on his helmet, he was the best G of my lifetime.

This is what I wanted to hear.

One of the reasons we struggled down the stretch is that our C-RG combo was just too small. Jurgens can't be a RG next to another smaller player in Kelce. Jurgens at C is fine, as long as we have girth on both sides.

What Shaun Andrews should have become if he stayed happy and healthy.

Ungodly combination of power and quickness. The Jason Peters of guards.

Funny. I was going to say that.

The technology of these new LG refrigerators is getting crazy. Here's one interacting with humans and answering questions.

Davis was 341 at the combine. That would seem to be an ideal playing weight. If he's bragging about being 350, I wonder how fat he was the last two years? It is also concerning that he seems like a prime candidate to lose weight, play great, sign a monster deal and then never say no to a tastykake ever again.

Makes me wonder if Stout approved of Jurgens or if that was a Howie pick and he just wanted someone like Kelce because Kelce was so good. If Stout loves size and power, seems like Jackson Powers Johnson would've been a Stout guy.

Yep, there was absolutely no future for Jurgens at RG. He maxed out his body to get to his weight last year. He's the perfect size for Center though.

I don't think Howie thought Kelce was playing in 2023 -- the plan was for Jurgens to learn for a year and then play C in 2023. When Jason came back and Isaac signed with Pittsburg (they were right not to pay him that contract), they needed a RG and wanted Jurgens on the field. Had they known 100% Kelce was going to play in 2023, I bet they go G in the 2nd round of 2022 and look for a center in the 2023 draft.

With Lane, Mailata and Dickerson all getting paid, and still carrying dead money from Kelce, they need 2 guys on rookie deals. They bet on Kelce walking after 2022 and were wrong.

Best shape of his career.

I would keep Lamb at a price, but with how much they have waited, he's going to want ~34mm AAV. Which would make him the highest paid non-QB other than JJ. I just don't see Lamb as a top 5 guy worthy of that money. If they were dead set on keeping Lamb, they should have done the deal by now. Waiting has cost them millions.

Nah.   Parsons should be the focus.   He's a unique talent.  Meanwhile, what we've seen in recent years is that with the way that college football is going, finding talented WRs is much easier.   I think the WR market will reset once teams come to that realization.

33 starts in 5 full seasons.  He's the definition of a depth guy rather than someone to compete as a starter.  Nothing wrong with that.

Oh I agree Parsons is the top priority. He's their version of Aaron Donald.

With Lamb I'd keep him at a price, but if he wants 34mm AAV, I'm going to just tag him.

If SIxers land Paul George who would you realistically go after to compliment him, Biid, and Maxey?

Man, that Cowboys offensive line was so good back in the day.  They made holes so big you could drive a car through them.  Emmitt Smith was great because of how good that offensive line was.  RIP Larry Allen.  52 is pretty young.

So... isn't this his 3rd season?  Technically, he was in the best shape of his career in the first season, because it was the only shape of his career.   Really, all he's saying here is that he was out of shape last year?

Also, "best shape of his career" season is one of my least favorites.

They need a backup BIG.   Andre Drummond would be a target for me.

They need some wing players... ideally, 2 way players.   Kelly Oubre would be a guy I'd try to bring back.

And, I'd take a long hard look into Pascal Siakam over Paul George.

You can have a smaller guard if you have a big center. One of those two guys has to be able to pull and trap. The center is preferable because he can go equally to either side but in general the puller on an OL is a guard. Think Alan Faneca or Evan Mathis.

I like the Scharping signing for more G depth. Will be interesting to see the 9-10 OL they keep out of camp.

I want to think John Hannah, Guy McIntyre or Jerry Kramer.

I was hoping they'd sign another guard. I was interested in Connor Williams but he may not even be ready to play tearing his ACL in December. This seems fine for depth. They're definitely going OL early next draft though. And may even double dip.

Pass blocking on Scharping looks to be really, really good.  Played LT and RT at NIU, kicked inside to guard in the NFL.  Cincy liked him enough to have him fill in for Cappa during their Super Bowl run.

Looks like the knock on him is his run blocking.

He's a good lottery ticket to take a swing at.  If he impresses, maybe he takes over the 4th tackle spot from Fred Johnson, or they move Hennessy to backup C and cut ties with Toth.

He was a great great player. Probably the best guard ever.

Better than Wade Key?

I think he wanted one of the Samoans or Latham. JPP didn't have the dancing bear type of feet that Stout would covet. I remember watching the combine and Stout did complement Steen a couple of times.

You've gotta take body type and composition in to account too. Evan Mathis was 6-5 305 but SHREDDED.

What an NFL training program can do: Chance Warmack now (at 345 lbs) vs. in college (330). : r/nfl

Cam Jurgens was a 6-3 240 TE when he committed to Nebraska. Last year, he "bulked" up to 303. 63 pounds over 5 years isn't natural or healthy. Now, I know a lot of OL do this but nearly 70 pounds is a drastic change in body composition. Jason Kelce was 280 at Cincinnati and claims his NFL weight was 295. I wouldn't be surprised if he started the season at 295 but finished closer to 290. Jurgens will be much better back at his natural OL position of Center and hopefully down around 290.
