Yes.   That would be a good descriptor - ok.

Jason Avant was fine. An ok #3 WR when he had two good WRs between him (Maclin/Cooper and Jackson).

Avant IMO was not a good enough blocker to be that slow of a WR. 

 

Avant is so overrated by this fanbase.  Never had a big catch in a clutch moment his entire career.  Instead he had a major mess up in the 2010 playoff game against the Packers.  Meanwhile Greg Ward had massively huge clutch catches including a game winner TD against the Redskins.

Avant had hands as good as anyone else in the NFL and played for 10 seasons. Greg Ward was a converted QB who played 2 seasons and was only relevant because our other WRs were absolute garbage. Please don't ever compare the two again.

This is the reason.

I do feel for Reddick. He earned another contract, but the end of last year was so bad for the team/him that it makes it tough for the Jets.
