Really surprised they didn't do much at the position during the offseason.

From Berman

James Bradberry is working at second-team safety on the first day of camp — a sentence I didn’t expect to write when the Eagles signed him to a 3-year, $38M contract following a standout 2022 season when he was second-team All-Pro.

Eagles have a decision to make this summer. They’re paying him this season regardless — his option was guaranteed — but they’ve seemed to move on from the idea of him as a starting CB. The Eagles must consider the opportunity cost.

The performance wasn’t there last year. The person is respected/appreciated in the building.

A trade would be a sensible outcome if another team is interested. Eagles would get some cap savings.

Becton's conditioning is a real concern and why Steen has the inside track at RG.

Practice is over already

Britain Covey, John Ross, Ainias Smith, Isaiah Rodgers back returning punts during #Eagles ST drill.

I think a Bradberry trade has always seemed like the most likely outcome. But the Eagles are, I believe, playing it smart. There's no need to hurry. If we suffer a series of injuries in the secondary, he may be more useful here. Likewise, if some of the younger guys we're counting on (Ringo, Mitchell, DeJean primarily but also Ricks/Jobe/et al) don't impress quite as much as we had expected, it could make sense to keep Bradberry around.

But if the young guys look good and healthy, absolutely he could be dealt to a contending team that suddenly found a hole at cornerback.

For now, I have no problem with keeping him around and seeing what kind of versatility he may offer. It's the logical approach.

Watching the players (Slay, Brown, Hurts) PC.  They are handling the Beats.  Won’t answer speculation and details about the new offense.

Everyone in agreement the worst teams in the NFL this season likely will be Raiders, Broncos, Panthers, Giants, Cardinals, Patriots?

Titans over Cardinals. Washington over NYG.

Titans could be there. Will have a lot to answer for if they're bad with the amount of money they spent during the offseason.

Tend to think the cardinals are better than all those teams. If Murray stays healthy they’ll still not be good but i could see them winning 6-7 games. The rest of those teams I’d be surprised if they got more than 5. Broncos have a shot if Nix is actually good.

Yep. I'd add that Fangio is a zone guy. We all saw that Bradberry can't cover a receiver with speed but in a zone scheme and especially as a split safety he still has enough speed and experience to fit there. Right now we're thin at safety with Brown and DeJean down so it makes sense from that angle as well. Work him there, build up his value both to us and to other teams and see what comes of it. There's no hurry.

Washington could be a wildcard team this year.
