ESP asking these bad press conference questions, after he still hasn't responded to what DSJ said on his podcast, is so bad. The Eagles' media refuses to call him out despite having seemingly the biggest beat in the NFL and clearly not needing him.

Nothing in his story was a lie. DeSean Jackson did have ties to a gang member who also went to prison. They were friends. That is true and that's all the story said. It never accused DeSean of being in a gang. I went back and reread the story relatively recently to double check that too.

A lot of bad faith stuff has been spread about that story simply because people don't like ESP for his takes and just want to dog pile him and others have just parroted that false information as truth. If you go back and read the article and see what was written, it reported nothing inaccurate.

If there is any issue with the piece, it's whether or not it was relevant, to which I'd say a reporter can write about whatever they want. But your saying he lied is factually incorrect.

All of the renewed outrage, though, came from DeSean's podcast with McCoy where he admitted that he was friends with the guy and that those pictures were taken during the time they met up to celebrate him beating the murder charge. Are you also mad at Jackson for saying bad things about himself?

But he did have ties to a gang member. It's not ESP's problem that someone is going to take issue with him reporting true information. And frankly it is troubling that he had a friend who was a gang member. That doesn't mean DeSean is a bad guy, but if I owned a sport team and I found out one of my best players is close with a gang banger I'd absolutely be concerned. Just like you would if you found out one of your kids was hanging with a gang banger.

As for his intent, that's pure speculation. You can feel that way if you want, but he did nothing wrong and nothing worthy of saying anything to DeSean.

Ties' is nebulous.  Could mean friends, could mean associates, could mean they were in the same place at the same time. At best the piece was irresponsible.  

 

Hell, I have "ties" to a skinhead who helped his cousins kill their parents and other son because I had study period with him once in 10th grade.

Jalyx Hunt was on WIP, I like this guy. Fan of his personality. If he ever amounts to anything he'll be a fan favorite because of that personality.
