Training camp officially starts Monday.

That's when the pads go on.

2nd practice day in a row with zero TDs. With all this dink and dunk, they most likely always end up inside the 20, and Hurt’s brain turns into the typical pretzel we always see when he has a condensed field.

That's when he'll run since he can't seem to throw at the end of the field

Kempski went into it on the Philly special podcast. I think he said was the worst player he saw but also he was dealing with some sort of injury prior

Spring practices he had a shin injury if I remember and they were slowly working him in. Now he just sounds bad, although early. He’s also muffed punts so maybe he’s just adjusting to the ball like that one offseason Jamar Chase was dropping passes left and right.

He had the dropsies in college too. One of the reasons I was a little surprised they took him because the Eagles value taking care of the ball(who doesn't?).

I think their handling of WR3 was the oddest thing of the entire offseason. It was a pretty big issue for them in 2023 and back in February before free agency you'd figure while it may not be top priority, they'd put a decent level of importance on it and they've basically treated it like last year. Even a guy like Noah Brown who knows Moore got a very reasonable contract from the Texans and it doesn't appear the Eagles had any interest. Same with a guy like Cedrick Wilson. And they waited until the late rounds to address it. I remember in the weeks leading up to the draft almost everyone who covers the team expected a WR for sure drafted by the 3rd round, and some even thought they could take one in the first if the board fell a certain way.

They just did very little to address it. When you're even entertaining bringing John Ross in and giving him major snaps at WR3 then you've flat out neglected it. But Howie szn never ends, so we'll see.

sorry to interrupt, but maybe you can explain how this first highlight isn't a TD:

Do we have a Nasty Nate yet? Hard to tell with limited access.

That's what it seems like. Minus Ainias Smith unfortunately. He's a guy I was really high on. Granted it's still early but the reports weren't great during OTA's and continuing in to TC isn't a good sign at all.

Because it’s a one on one drill

Jalyx Hunt might be the front runner so far

Steen apparently picked up some injury today during warmups which explained his absence and the random rotations at RG

Him being a player would be a really nice surprise. I wonder if in the long run Hunt becomes a better player than Nolan Smith. Kind of similar to Andre Dillard/Jordan Mailata even though Smith and Hunt were in separate drafts. They can say we missed on 1st rounder Smith but found a gem in Hunt. I hate that mindset but you hear it all the time when people say Mailata makes up for missing on Dillard.

I'd really like to hear/see how the RB not named Barkley/Gainwell are doing as well as the next tier of CB after the rotating starters.

Sadly I am in the position of needing to see it before I believe it.   Jalyx Hunt fits the mold of the Davion Taylor, Bryan Smith group.   I hope he proves that to be incorrect and turns out to be much more Trent Cole.

BTW... Mailata (2018) and Dillard (2019) were also different drafts.

Oh for sure we need to see a lot before we believe anything. Just comparing 2 similar situations where there's a 1st rounder and a project in the same position. I'd love for both to develop.

I thought both T were in the same draft. My mistake.

The funny thing about Ainias Smith is he is one of the players one of the scouts/execs pounded the table for during Howie's "Ok, guys, sell me on a player before day 3" meeting. It was in one of the clips the Eagles put out. I don't remember who it was that stood on a table for the guy, but if he turns out to be not an NFL player, maybe don't listen to that guy anymore.

Maybe…or maybe it’s still way too early to judge.  Have they even put pads on yet?  Some guys don’t practice well, but are gamers.

It seems that way because of Mailata's red shirt years.

I was going to say the exact same thing…

Pretty high pick to be a NN

WR3 is one of those positions where it's not a large priority with all other positions in the O; Brown, Smith, Goedert, Barkley are all higher up the food chain than WR3. So if you are looking to save money, that is the position to do it. So someone like Ainias Smith is a good player to get in the mix with Ross and Campbell.

He's a good runner.  That's why running QBs are best.  It's harder when there is less room.

Nah, he knows exactly what the situation is as does everyone else.  Just a matter of time before he's gone.

I'm sure Howie is on the phone with Minnesota as we speak.  They need CB help badly.

Minnesota may still be sore from the Sam Bradford trade.
