Yep. Great players don't drop the damn ball. Name one other "good" QB who ever did that in a SB? Wasn't touched, wasn't making a move, he just dropped it and watched. I don't care what else he did. The defense was playing alright up until that point (at least got them to punt) and the entire momentum of the game changed.

Entire momentum of the game changed?  Eagles went onto score 10 straight unanswered points to close the half.  Would have been 14 if the refs didn't overturn a DeVonta Smith catch on a replay on the final drive.

They don't. It was a good drive that at the very least would've ended up with 3 points. Instead it was 7 points for the Chiefs. Inexcusable

Yes, the entire momentum of the game changed. Instead of driving to go up two scores, Hurts singlehandedly let them back in the game and got them fired up. All by just dropping the ball and watching it like he didn't give a crap. They lost by 3 points and he gave up 7. Hmmm. I don't care what else he did he changed the entire momentum of the game.

But it didn't change the momentum.  The Eagles went up 2 scores with 10 straight unanswered points after that.  Should have been 14 if the refs didn't screw them with the DeVonta overturn.  What changed was coming out of halftime the defense decided to not show up at all in the second half.  Sirianni's also choosing to punt on a 4th and short in thr 2nd half was also a death blow when the defense at that point was not making any stops while the offense was playing great.

Since it was kind of brought up

What would be considered a failed season to everyone?

For me it would be anything less than divisional game

Dropping a pass isn't dropping the ball while holding it but you know that

Not in the SB. We aren't the Browns.

I need to see two wins over Dallas and a win over San Fran.

So 3-14 is okay for you

Edit: it's a joke

SF isn't on the regular season schedule    🙂

Truth be told, for a team like the Eagles 3 wins would probably be preferable in the big picture to 8 or 9 wins.  You're either a contender or you're not.

I will watch at least part of the game tonight to see the new kickoff rules in play.  Looking at what receivers the Texans use.  May suggest who they might part with as they seem loaded there.

Anything less than one playoff win would be a failed season. So either a win during the wildcard round or a win in the divisional round if they are the #1 seed.

I edited it to say I was joking. Didn't go as intended

I’ll be more specific and say minimum of 1 playoff win. If by chance they get the 1 seed, putting them in the Divisional round, but they go one and done still, it’s just as much a failure to me. I want a minimum of 1 playoff win.

Beat me to it.

Didn’t think of that. Had any done a count of who lost and who we signed this offseason to figure out if we might be in a position for any comp picks?  I was thinking we weren’t as we signed Saquon, CJG and White and didn’t lose value equivalent to them.

They don't matter to us at all this year.

I usually go here

Philadelphia Eagles
CFAs Lost: 2 CFAs Gained: 6
Name Rd APY # Name Rd APY #
  Saquon Barkley 5 $12.58M 197
  Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Jr. 5 $11M 220
D'Andre Swift 6 $8M 301 Devin White 6 $4M 443
Marcus Mariota 6 $6M 433 Bryce Huff 4 $17.03M 175
  Zack Baun 7 $3.5M 604
  Mekhi Becton 7 $2.75M 653
Non-CFAs Lost Non-CFAs Gained
Nicholas Morrow   $1.5M 878 Matt Hennessy   $1.75M 849
Iosua Opeta   $1.38M 1067 Oren Burks   $1.5M 959
Jack Driscoll   $1.79M 850

TBF, I was being snarky.  Opeta wouldn't have mattered either way given the formula.

BUTTTTTTTT.... looking at the chart does show how in the end, it was smart to trade Reddick.  Even if he didn't have his current contract dispute with the Jets, the "He could have played his contract out and we would still collect a 3rd round comp" falls flat on its face.

Edit:  Was trying to find my POV to quote in the old blog, but the archive forum is basically unsearchable.  But if memory serves me I was ok with the Reddick trade because:
1) You aren't guaranteed comp picks, so this locks it in at a higher value

2) If we approach the offseason to maximize comp picks, this will effectively allow us to collect another one

So in the end, it was a good trade.  If we didn't do it, he would have walked and we would have got nothing.  And his current contract dispute and it makes it even better.
