Pretty cool video someone made of the atmosphere and practice highlights from last night

Disclaimer: Just like Bigfoot and UFO videos it's a little blurry

A funny part of that video is watching fans sprint to get good seats and then absolutely hit the wall going up the steps. It's like halfway up some of them were like "screw it, the 7th row is fine."

If Huff doesn't play really well this season, there will be a ton of lamenting about Reddick, and honestly, deservedly so.

If Huff doesn't play well, the better lament should be his contract... and should have nothing to do with Reddick.   The Reddick piece is separate.   Huff would be/should be connected to other Edge rushers available in the free agency pool.

Huff as a pass rusher is pretty much a proven commodity, and probably worth his deal just in that role.

Question is whether he's a 800 snap 3 down edge player.

But if Hunt and Smith come on, it won't matter b/c he won't be playing 800 snaps.

In what way is he 'a proven commodity'?   He had one big year with limited snaps.   Prior to that he was pretty forgettable as a player.   And that's why he got 3 years at $51M, while Josh Allen and Brian Burns got 5 years $150M.

John McMullen saying the LBs have been bad, esp last night and thinks Howie is going to have to make a move there. Not surprising but another area of need outside of WR3.

Im not sounding alarms yet. LBs still have not been able to tackle. Both are new starters that may need some time to get up to speed. If nothing else, they are much more athletic than last years group so I do believe there will be at least some upgrade there. AND finally, the biggest hope of all- DeJean in whatever packages he is in should improve the in the box play. He may end up being more of a LB than anything this year considering how deep the CB positions are looking.

Yeah, but what good is the competition if it’s among a bunch of dudes who can’t play?

I think Paris Campbell can play. I think Ross has been having a solid camp and we dont want to rely on him but he might actually provide nice depth. And I think people are sleeping on Covey. I did notice him in last nights clips of 11 on 11 1s vs 1s. He was obviously with the 1s, and had a nice catch and run. His skillset is a great match for this offense and I think he has a chance to be a break out player for the team.

I was debating this with a friend today so I wanted to throw it out there

Am I the only one who thinks football atmospheres on TV just feel way better outdoors than in domes. There have been some amazing games in domes, but something about them, it loses a little bit of the luster for me when I watch a game in a dome. Something about outdoor games just captures an element of the game that domes can't for me. The way it looks on TV, the elements, the breath in the air during cold months, something about the sound of the crowds cheering just feels less artificial.

A great football game will always be fun, but I have to say when I see a great matchup and see it's in an outdoor stadium it just brings extra juice to me. Maybe it's just the old school in me.

But I know people who love dome games and they have no risk of weather playing a factor.

Even if there's not hitting, it's not a good sign to hear how Gainwell has been repeatedly cooking Dean in coverage.

that is true.  But we dont really need Dean to be anything but depth at this point. Which is good since it appears thats all he is capable of being. Baun and White will start. One of Dean or Trotter needs to step up as reliable depth. Oren Burks I think is hurt right now too and hes sorta proven depth as well.

Nothing really beats seeing rowdy fans sitting in below freezing temps screaming and seeing the condensation coming out of everyones mouths. Outdoor>>>indoor all the way.

Domes are for wimps.

Re LBs: We're going to play a ton of dime, especially on 2nd and long + 3rd down. Just need one LB to be not awful.

They have so much depth at CB it's a shame they can't move one along with a Dean to a team that can be more patient with him for an upgrade

I think it's possible Devin White is *average*.

maybe they will at some point. As of now, theres no room to play DeJean. Even after Slay is gone, you can potentially have Ringo and Rodgers as starters. You still cant even get Mitchell outside, or DeJean in the slot. There is actually too much talent here right now.

Now, they probably wont extend BOTH of Ringo and Rodgers which will eventually open a slot. So at some point it probably makes sense to trade one of them.

I think Slay and Rodgers are gone next year and it's Mitchell/Ringo outside and DeJean at nickel, no?

Outdoor is always better.  Also for attending games too.  The move for all indoor stadiums for thr NFL is an awful development.

It would seem so. As I said they probably arent going to keep Rodgers and Ringo both long term because then you still cant get Mitchell outside. So it makes sense to trade someone this year.

What? Y'all don't want to see the unfrozen artificial turf of Lambeau field?

I've never been to a game in a dome and don't have a desire to. Outdoors makes it special.

Completely skipped over your last sentence

thats a shame because it was a really good sentence.

I dont think I saw anyone post this. Which would mean you all are slacking. Its sort of a FG kicking tutorial by our 3 headed FG monster, Elliott, Mann, and Lovato.

It's not just a cold thing, but even for games like the Rose Bowl the overall aesthetics are much better to watch. Domes are mundane and lack character. It is and should be a daunting task to have to go into Arrowhead in January and beat KC at their home field in the elements, Foxborough during the prime Brady years, or Lambeau in Green Bay.

I have no idea how long Rodgers is signed for, but I'd imagine they have another year or so for Ringo. What a difference a year makes.  DeJean could end up at safety. Make him our John Lynch in that defense.

I'd rather be on a dome in August, January or December, but outdoors from September to November.

Rodgers is one a one year deal, and Slay likely is released with a post June 1 designation this offseason. Ringo is signed through 2026 on his rookie deal, Mitchell and DeJean through 2027. Plan A must be Ringo and Mitchell on the outside with DeJean in the slot in 2025.
