Non Football related, but I'm gonna post this here anyway (along with having posted it in WU). With regard to my mother's stage 4 lung cancer: A week or so ago, we went in for another CT sca

Vick would have had multiple rings and be in the hall if he studied the mental aspect of football in the beginning

Pocket passers > mobile QBs if they have weapons

Howie isn't a great GM. He just gets contracts done before the market

Should have used the money for Barkley on someone else

There doesn't have to be a HOF class every year. If a player deserves it, they should get voted in. But the more they vote in, the more it becomes the Hall of Very Good.

Out of all 4 QB’s there’s been only 1 interception all camp and that was on a desperation Pickett throw to end practice. It’s better no one is throwing interceptions than everyone but that points to scheme more than individual.

We shall see once the season starts but I think it points to something else: defense not creating turnovers.  Fun to hear no INTs for the offense,  not fun to hear no INTs for the defense.  Kinda ridiculous actually.

Dean seems to be having a mediocre camp at best and I think that's being kind. A shame, he was so good in college.

Groin for Parris Campbell. Could be big if it lingers.

Interesting way of wording that.

Sounds like McKee is getting work with the second team and has been playing better than Pickett. It would be nice if they were able to flip Pickett off

I got you.

Maybe Hennessy stinks as well and he isn’t even a typical backup level interior lineman as I suspected.

I feel like we’re two weeks away from Nick Gates being our top backup C and OG4.

I find it a little odd that Keegan hasn’t got much if any snaps on the right side. How much value does a LG-only player have?

Might just be a case of Stout keeping it simple for him to start with.

Or the defense still sucks.

If they're going to rotate their #3 WR based on skill set, they'll be just as predictable as last year.

What if they line up Mailata at WR3?  He played rugby, you know.  He has a high RAS score.

It’s a little bit of everything. Fangio defense of keeping everything in front and not getting beat deep. Moore offense of getting the ball out fast and taking what the D gives you. The LB’s all sucking in coverage = no INT’s.

Oh ok

There's his agenda for this Eagles season. I thought he was going to go with Pickett being the best QB on the roster this year, but it's Sirianni. His biggest takes about each team are always contrarian takes. Should have seen it coming when he was going with the "The Eagles offense was great in 2023 actually and the Eagles shouldn't change Sirianni's offense because it works" takes all offseason.

Big Dom put on 10 pounds of muscle. He’s having a great camp.

Teams that punt and don't score may not throw a ton of picks either. The 1 TD or whatever it is isn't great either

This one’s going to ruffle some feathers.

It’s time for Merrill to retire.

Compared to lb and oline depth, wr is a pretty minor concern. Brett Toth getting first team reps is way more concerning to me.

So I badmouth Brett Toth and he turns into a potential top 100 player.

"Toth faced Jalen Carter twice in 1-on-1's, and handled him both times. Carter has been unblockable in 1-on-1 situations all summer, so for Toth to handle him in 1-on-1 drills — which favor pass rushers — is notable."

Haven't heard the local commentating in so long that I don't care one way or the other. I know people will mute the tv and try to sync it with him though

I just never really cared about commentators like that

Phillies up 5-0 in the 8th.  Are they gonna get a win?

Greatest camp in 30 years.

I think I agree with you.  Sadly, my last memories of Pat Summerall weren't great, because he was losing it.  John Madden, at the end, wasn't himself either.   As much as it sucks when a player like Barry Sanders or Jim Brown walk away from the game at the top of their game, we never saw them playing like a shadow of themselves.  They were always great.   That's something that I am very happy about with Jason Kelce.  He left on top.  He might have been the best center in the league last year, and now he's the greatest center in retirement.

So many hang on for too long and it really sullies their legacy.  Compare how Jason Kelce left the game, compared to how Jason Peters left the game.  It's a shame seeing great great great players being forced out.  The same is true for announcers.  Its not as obvious when it starts for announcers, the slide is slower and subtler.  But it is absolutely real and its a shame.
