I don’t think Aiyuk does anything of note outside the Shanahan scheme.  Hopefully the Niners don’t fleece a trade partner.

I read that the Browns would send them Cooper and NE would send them Bourne so I’d rather him go to NE in that case

Plus we play the Browns this year

Reddick never slacked off --- at least not in games. There were reports that some players were deviating from the scheme and doing their own thing late in the season. Some people claimed it was Sweat and then later they claimed it was Reddick. IDK what, if any of that is true, but Reddick did play hard for what it's worth.

Just a guess, because he's the one they got rid of.

I agree.  He hustled his butt off all season even when everything wen to 💩  Sweat imo was chasing sacks all season and abandoning his edge responsibility.  It sucks that Reddick is gone and Sweat is here.  But it is what it is.

Dean is not an NFL LB. He can blitz and stop the run but the kid is always 2-3 steps behind anyone he has to cover. He is a huge liability. Other OCs will take advantage. He is a special teamer and maybe goal line player. Its a passing league and Dean dies not have to ability to run with and cover receivers

Well, you mentioned Lincoln in the earlier post and now Michigan State as a cow college.  So a little history.  In 1862, Congress passed and Lincoln (tie in) signed the first Morrill Act creating Land Grant colleges to encourage education in agriculture and technical.  Many of the universities with State in their name started as Land Grant colleges, including Michigan State.  There was a second Morrill Act in 1890 expanding such and including HBCUs.  Now especially in the South, they segregated the institutions and HBCUs were created.  Those HBCUs included colleges like Prairie View A&M that fit the definition of what was required to be a Land Grant college.  Now when those HBC universities pushed for Land Grant funding they were initially rebuked but through litigation eventually they were included in the funding.  There have been amendment including adding Native American institutions with the same focus much later.  So, of course Michigan State was a "cow college”.  In Texas instead of State it was A(agricultural) and M(mechanical).  BTW, Penn State is a Land Grant college.

BTW, Land Grant ties to the funding through the federal government donating federal lands towards the the establishment of such colleges

You know me, @just relax, I could go on and on when given the chance to throw out some history.  I will stop here

Don't stop on my account. History is who we are.

Most LBs have to learn to cover at the NFL level. They need to get experience as they play. It's too bad Dean hurt his foot last season, because that would have given him much needed experience to learn from and build off.

Dean has all the physical tools to be effective in coverage and is a very intelligent person. I still think he'll get there and be solid in coverage.

I do feel that when people are being critical of Dean that they are kind of glossing over that very few LBs are ever more than "a liability" in coverage. It doesn't really matter who the LB is, if he's in a 1v1 matchup with a WR, TE, or RB, it's considered a mismatch.

I'd prefer to wait until preseason to make a judgement on his coverage. There's just not nearly enough TC footage available to draw any conclusion.

Cooper is still a downgrade from Aiyuk and when it comes down to it all if they trade with the Patriots then they are likely looking at a top 20 to top 5 pick in the draft next year as opposed to a 1st from the Browns that would hopefully be in the 20s.

Well of course Cooper is a downgrade, I guess I'm looking at this through this year's lens vs the future. I see what you're saying in the longterm though.

CJGJ is prone to dings and such, go get Justin Simmons for depth. If he's willing to accept a role of having to compete for a job of course.

Kind of shocked to see we have 25M in cap space - are these sites not updated?

It's only measures top-51 during the summer.

Sounds like Rodgers beat out Ringo

I’m more concerned with the overall LB quality/depth than I am Safety

Who holds the Eagles training camp record for consecutive passes without an interception? Will his family be in attendance tomorrow and going to every practice until the record is broken like Roger Maris’ family?

Funny thing is when ESP did his radio hit one of the hosts asked him that, and he didn’t even know.

RG has a chance to be a real mess tbh. Pretty concerned about it.

We need to roll a nice chunk to 2025 - we have very little cap space next year with Kelce and Cox final dead cap hits on the books.
