No… I just don’t want him to be jinxed for the regular season.  It feels like that’s what ESP is trying to do.

Who else just wants him to throw a pick on his next throw?  Imagine how many times this stupid stat is referenced if he throws two picks in the first half in Brazil.

I'm sure many of you Hurts haters are praying he starts looking awful.

If you knew anything about me, you would know that I’m anything but a Hurts hater

I’m guessing it’s going to be rainy for the Ravens game this week. Not good.

Are the throws that count only the ones where they do 11 vs 11?  Because if they practice for a long time and then do 11 vs 11 I'm not sure we want them doing more than that.  Guessing they're mixing in 10-12 runs as well.  So 24 plays for O and D after a long practice seems about right... I could totally be making all of this up but sounds semi-logical

It's team drills so 7v7 and 11v11's

Fangio basically calling last year’s defense a bunch of soft p*ssies was interesting to hear. That might explain some of his love for Baun over a shrimp like Dean.

He's not wrong.

Who on last year's team would be described as a physical player for their respective positions? I came up with two: Nolan Smith (who is undersized) and Zack Cunningham.

Blankenship is it. The only one.

What I thought was interesting was his focus on legal hits in film study.

He doesn't want a bunch of idiots head hunting just to show they're "tough."

Tough is an attitude, and it goes deeper than just tackling, it's also a DB taking on an OL on a screen to slow it up instead of avoiding contact, holding the edge against the run if you're an undersized DE, etc.

I'm curious what it is about Tyler Steen that the coaches hate about him. I wonder if they view him more as a T. He could also be a piece to trade off to OL needy teams while he still has some draft position value. If he sits all year again that value is gone.

Well Baun is built like a WR. And Dean barely played last season. But his point isn't wrong even if Dean doesn't have much to do with it. I don't think Dean is soft I just don't think he's very good. Which still surprises me because of how much of a stud he was in college. I actually think he's one of the few people who'd lay a lick on a player. Just is too small for it to impact much and he hasn't been good in coverage.

(He's right)

Funniest thing I read is Nick Gates, the OL guy we just signed last week who stinks, got pancaked in practice.

I read the OL guys they brought in were to take reps and kick the tires while Dickerson and Steen were shelved.

Pretty sure he's just here to play about 6 quarters of preseason games and nothing more

Apparently Will Shipley was really bad in pass protection today. Doesn't bode well for getting a lot of snaps, especially on third down.

Keep signing bums and let Connor Williams go to Seattle.

Oh I'm sure. Just funny because they usually do the pancaking, not getting pancaked themselves.

Most LBs have to learn to cover at the NFL level. They need to get experience as they play. It's too bad Dean hurt his foot last season, because that would have given him much needed experience to learn from and build off.

Dean has all the physical tools to be effective in coverage and is a very intelligent person. I still think he'll get there and be solid in coverage.

I do feel that when people are being critical of Dean that they are kind of glossing over that very few LBs are ever more than "a liability" in coverage. It doesn't really matter who the LB is, if he's in a 1v1 matchup with a WR, TE, or RB, it's considered a mismatch.

I'd prefer to wait until preseason to make a judgement on his coverage. There's just not nearly enough TC footage available to draw any conclusion.

I would like for you to be right. You can’t teach speed or quickness. Maybe he can to recognize earlier. He was so far off everyone he tried to cover last year. Did he break up any passes?

Count me as someone who thinks Amari Cooper is better than Aiyuk. And honestly, by a decent margin. Dude played in a mess of a QB situation in Cleveland for two straight years and put up big numbers. He's really good. I think Aiyuk is more of a system player.

Good for you Ross, good for you.

If Jalen wants to pander to the fanbase he should drill ESP with the first pass tomorrow to tie the record.

You're on a very small island with that I'd imagine at this stage of their careers. Aiyuk won't do any better in Cleveland however - actually will be quite a hit to his fantasy value too.

Steelers back in it

Just a continuation of last year where it rained for a lot of the games, including the game with the Jets last season.
