The 49ers are really screwing this up, and I am here for it.

Non Football related, but I'm gonna post this here anyway (along with having posted it in WU). With regard to my mother's stage 4 lung cancer: A week or so ago, we went in for another CT sca

I'm of the mindset that if the SB Champs do it, then there's no excuse why the Eagles don't

Steen is an undercooked cheeseburger you’re not sure you want to eat. Becton is leftover steak in the fridge that you think you can make a good sandwich out of.

One underrated positive from this upcoming season:

Don't have to watch another team and stress out about hoping they lose games so a pick can be better. I love accumulating picks, but hated that aspect of having Saints picks the last couple years. Them playing in a terrible division, every week was a nail biter.

Yeah, Nick definitely doubled and tripled down and was too stubborn to change. It seems likely that Nick didn't trust Brian to make changes the way he trusted Shane. Nick and Shane's history definitely came into play there, whereas Nick had no history with Brian. Add on that Brian was closer to Jalen than Nick was, and it likely felt to Nick as 2 against one, making him more dug in. It's an error and immature response, but also human. Have to hope he has learned from it.

Well Moore has already said that Nick isn't involved in the offensive meetings but pops in at times.

FWIW Colin Cowherd reacting to this story said that back when the Eagles hired Nick, He (Colin) called some sources and they told him Nick isn't ready because he isn't good with X's and O's and doesn't have a strong command of either side of the ball, and the players don't respect him as a play caller.

I think the players like him as a player's coach and motivator and he probably is best suited to this CEO type Head Coach. Let's hope Moore can run the offense and everyone feels comfortable and executes it well.

Zach and Bo both strongly agreed Becton is the starting RG even if he wasn't listed as that on the depth chart. Both said barring an injury, they're all but certain he will start week 1.

I mean, Colin Cowherd is a complete idiot and a documented boob, so...

He basically crushed Nick after his bad PC taking the job. Then called him a great coach in 2022. Now this is his take. The guy is a boob weather vane.

That piece made Sirianni look really bad. Not as a person, but as a coach and offensive mind. I have no idea how they kept him if the sources info is right.

He's a great cheerleader apparently

Yes, hence the "FWIW" if he truly did hear from "sources" that he's bad at X's and O's.

We shouldn't really care who wins between Becton and Steen. We just want someone to win the job and not be the lesser of two choices.

We don’t need cowherd to tell us that Siri is terrible at X and Os, it’s been fairly obvious since his first year.

I just find him and everyone on that channel to be awful. Start the day off with Carton, a convicted felon who served jail time. Move on to Skip (well, not anymore), the dumbest hot take artist on the planet. Up next is Cowherd, Mr. if managing is so hard, how come Dominicans can do it. Right into Nick Wright, who answers the question what if Skip Bayless were somehow dumber but also had bad hair plugs. And wrap it up with Emmanuel Acho, a man who loves talking, and talking, and talking, while saying nothing.

What's sad is NFL Live is basically going the same way now. Orlovsky has become a full on hot take artist. Mina Kimes really is the best one on the show.

I don't even have any cable channels or see any of that, just clips in Twitter or YouTube

Honestly, the best outcome is Steen winning the job for a variety of reasons.

I keep forgetting Wentz is the backup there now. Curious to see what Big Red does with him.

As good as some cuts of steak can be. Even if they are cooked perfect. Juicy, tender, melt in your mouth, etc. No cut of steak, no matter how high quality, tastes better than a top quality cheeseburger.

The grease, the melty gooey cheese, the way everything comes together, it's something that no steak can ever match, as good as some steaks are.

(I don't mean cheesesteak btw I mean a steak steak)

I agree I prefer cheeseburgers over steak any day

The downside is having a former 1st round pick at 360lbs play G?

I think Steen not winning, a guy they drafted and put development time into, to lose to a guy they picked up cheap after the draft was over, suggests they are really down on Steen. Especially since by all accounts Becton hasn't looked great. So for him to win the job, a guy who they have no development or draft loyalties to, and no equity invested in, who doesn't get paid a ton, to win a job over Steen while still not looking great, suggests Steen simply has not been good. Like at all. And that's not ideal.

He might not be any good at that spot either. Not saying Steen is, but ideally we want the guy taken at the top of round three to win the job and be a cheap starter for three years.

Becton starting this year and playing well isn’t a bad outcome, but that puts us in a position to either pay him good money or be in a similar position as this  past offseason.

We should all be rooting for Steen to win the job.

Yeah, it’s not like Becton was any good last year, plus he’s moving to a brand new position mid-career.

It’s a bummer Steen hasn’t developed as hoped (there’s still time, but…).
