Nike has turned in to the worst thing for sports. I thought the Phillies were bad (and they are). But these are just next level putrid. I hate City Connect so much.

And Burks.

I think they like VanSumeran, but might want another season to work with him (ST, backup this year).

It would have been nice to add a stud ILB, but the two DBs were far more important. With Mitchell and DeJean and bringing back CJGJ, Eagles no longer have to ask their young DBs to make a big step up to starter quality, if they're cheap, solid backups that's more than sufficient.

I think you're right about VanSumeren.  He's someone that may play his way past Burks, Dean or White to get on the field.

At least Nike said they were going back to the jerseys from last year and previous years but won’t be until sometime in 2025. Frankly not sure why they can’t just do it now. Teams have their jerseys from last year. Heck harper wore one in a game this year.

Kirk Ferentz said if DeJean came back to Iowa next year they probably would have played him on offense 15-20 snaps a game because he is that much of a play maker.

Cooper DeJean set a record at his high school for Passing yards in a career.  And, Receiving yards in a season.  And state champion as a QB.

He was a top 30 visit before the draft.

All these CBs brought in and Bradberry is still on the roster.

They actually look quite good; better than their regular uniforms.  I'm disappointed the emblem on the hat and sleeve wasn't an engine block or at least a hubcap, though.

Since it's Detroit -- couldn't they have just gone with all-orange prison issue garments?  All joking aside, they look good:

What's the rush to dump him now?   Why not wait until at least June 1, and better yet... wait throughout training camp and maybe a team gets into a desperate situation and will at least take his guaranteed salary off the Eagles' hands, if not actually offer a trade of minimal resources.

I’m guessing he’s here through camps. Really don’t get much out of just releasing him prior to that. Has to be a post June 1 cut to begin with. It would benefit him as he can find a new team now as opposed to later. That said i think they want to see if bradberry can be at least useful on this team as his career arc indicates he should be better this year as opposed to last.

So if he went to LA to make sure the bone was healing appropriately, it sounds to me that he went there to get the injury "fixed."    Also did the doctor say a higher risk of re-injury or just a risk of re-injury.  If it is a higher risk of re-injury, is that just during the time period when the bone is healing?  I am not sure what the higher risk injury means if his functionality is the same.  If he's the same functionally, then how is the impact of the injury different than any other condition that places a player at a higher risk of re-injury.

Someone had just written an article about him. I think he's the cousin of Joey Porter Jr. He had something like 16 INTs the last 2 years?

It will be a complete fail if he's not the 2nd string QB by the end of training camp.

I'm thinking maybe Dean wears the green dot and there is a rotation at the other spot.  Or maybe there isn't some "other spot",   could be rotations at OLB and ILB, mix it up.

I posted the doctor who talked about the wrist injury a couple posts back. He talked about the risk with the wrist. He’s far more accurate when discussing that aspect.

the reporter John is trying to say his his source told him he had the surgery in LA and not PA like the team reported. Also he had a ligament fixed in the initial surgery reported back in November. The reporter saying surgery was for the reasons of make sure bone grew correctly. It would make more sense if his source said after the surgery he went to LA to get it check and fix if the bone was believed to not be an issue and the ligaments were healing correctly. But he’s not saying that. John is saying his source had the initial surgery in La and for the reasons he described

What about last season makes you want to keep Ricks and Ringo? I would like Ringo to get a chance to play outside.  I thought he looked ok in the pre-season.  I don't think he's a superstar in the making.  Rodgers is an unknown at this point.

I thought both played decently for rookies.

Ringo especially is a project. He’s STILL the youngest DB on our roster. 6’2”, 4.3 speed, can hit, solid hands, and was a clutch player in college.

To me, Ringo has a roster spot through next season. You don’t draft a guy of his profile where you know it’s going to take a while to develop him and then dump him after one season. That doesn’t make sense.

Even next year he will be younger than a lot of rookies we bring in. Let him develop and after year 3 you can make a decision on his progress. But the talent is there to develop into a high quality starter, and if that happens our secondary should have long term stability.

At first i was surprised no one mentioned nick foles during this entire roast. they did Eli manning. I still think nick foles being brought up was likely something Brady is still irritated about and was made off limits in the roast. Cause i have to believe someone would’ve made a joke there if allowed.

Nick Foles is off limits but Giselle banging her trainer is fair game.  No wonder she left him hahaha

They were rookies; IMO CB is the most difficult position to transition from college to the NFL. There have been more than twice as many rookie pro bowl QBs as there have been CBs since 2000. So good or bad last year, I like those players based on their potential for the future.

I agree. College rules allow contact until the ball is in the air. College DBs are grabby because the rules allow it. None of that 5-yard rule the NFL uses. It’s quite an adjustment for them.
DeJean played a lot of off coverage so it may not be as much of an adjustment for him as for Mitchell.

I doubt he's wearing the green dot as a rookie in the secondary.
