Games shouldn’t be decided by weather. Best team should win, not the team that can best adapt to high wind or rain. Not to mention the additional risk of injury. It’s a better take than cheeseburgers.

Pretty sure he was one of the ones bringing up how many games the Eagles played in last year where it was raining.

If it's all about the elements and playing in whatever then it shouldn't matter that the Eagles played in a bunch of bad weather games, right?

I'm not a strictly indoor/dome guy but I like the idea of every team having a stadium similar to Arizona and Atlanta.   When the weather is good you can open the roof.  When it's awful, close it.

Yeah, no one enjoyed the Eagles playing half of their games in the rain last year. There weren’t any amazing games played because of it. The only good thing that came of rain is that it almost cost the 9ers the divisional game against GB in the playoffs.

Jalen Hurts.

It’s a stat they’ve been keeping going all the way back to 2023!

NFL teams might switch to domes because they lose the money if the league cancels and they have to play in another city. Another thing is hosting the Super Bowl which brings a city lots of money for local businesses but they won't have it where there's risk of weather.

I like the outdoor stadiums. But it does suck when a game is rescheduled, it messes up the schedule for the team, they have to adjust and if you're a fan with tickets and they relocate to another city you miss out on going.

Nothing wrong with being a CEO HC if you have the right coordinators:

Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry could not have had two more divergent personalities. Yet, while working for the New York Giants in the mid-1950s under head coach Jim Lee Howell, the pair formed what still stands as the greatest set of coordinators on one team. Given their personalities, one might have likened Howell’s job to that of Dwight Eisenhower’s as the general struggled to control the egos and politics of his allied subordinates during WWII. But for some reason, Lombardi and Landry worked almost seamlessly, leading the Giants to the top of the NFL. In the five seasons the two men coached together between 1956 and 1959, the Giants appeared in three championship games, winning the NFL title in 56.

Both coaches would go on to NFL stardom, Lombardi with the Green Bay Packers and Landry with the Dallas Cowboys. But it was during their years as Giants coordinators that they developed the coaching philosophies they would employ later in their careers. For Lombardi, it was the reliance on the running game that started with Frank Gifford and would continue in the Packers Sweep” days of Paul Hornung. For Landry, it was his own invention of the 4-3 defense that led to the Flex” defense of his Super Bowl winners in Dallas. How they developed their ideas, and how they were allowed to implement them, was a testament not only to their genius, but Howell’s willingness to let them handle the strategic matters while he looked after the big picture.

Those are anomalies. Indoor games will mean more money for the owners as fans will enjoy not sitting in 0 degree weather in the winter + players won’t have to deal with bad weather or the increase injury risks. The refs will be less blind too. It’s win/win/win/win.

Anomalies?  What are these weather games that suck because of the weather?   Were are the stats to back up your claim that injuries occur more in outdoor stadiums than indoor stafiums?  One of the reasons you want indoor stadiums is because it makes the owners more money?  You think officiating is better in indoor stadiums too?

I'm love going to games in adverse weather.  It adds a different level of electricity in the stands.  But I'm not soft like you.  It also makes the viewing experience when watching on TV better as well.

How do you quantify a higher risk for injury in an outdoor field (natural grass in most cases) vs artificial turf indoors?  Last I checked, there is still large men running into other large men.

I didn’t know you weren’t allowed to have grass because you have an indoor stadium.

Logan Thomas has been successful... marginally.  Really, he had one great year and has battled injuries a lot and took a long time to reach that level of success.

Yes, we know that money is the driving force.  It's always about the bottom line, not about the sport.   The bad weather games have produced some of the most iconic moments in the history of the league.  I can't speak for everyone but whenever there was snow in the forecast as kids, my brother and I always organized a football game to play in the snow.  It was a part of growing up for kids.  So, while it might mean more money in the short run, I think the league is literally doing everything they can to make the game less desirable, less available for youth.   For example, the more money for owners from the indoor stadiums will be a necessity to help pay for the ridiculous cost of these stadiums.  There will be corporate boxes all over the place and the ordinary fan will be pushed out, especially the ordinary fan with kids he'd love to bring to the game.   It seems the NFL wants to turn every game into a miniature version of the Super Bowl.   And we all know that the Super Bowl isn't for the ordinary fan (at least not in terms of attendance)... its a corporate affair and a spot for celebrities to go and be seen.  My personal least favorite part of every Super Bowl is when the broadcast spins the cameras around the stadium to find the celebrities in attendance.

As for the refs being less blind.   Sorry.  That's an incurable situation I'm afraid.

lmao this reads like an Onion article

You are correct.   They had a natural grass field for the Super Bowl in Arizona a few years ago in that indoor stadium.   That worked perfectly, didn't it?

Now THAT's a throwback

I hate dome games. I'll take outdoor games with unexpected weather all day

Sad part was they worked on that grass for an entire month and then painted half the field. Stupid

Imagine if the Eagles did their white Kelly Greens too. That would be so great. They used to wear white at home quite a bit during those days. That would mean getting rid of their precious black uniforms though.

Black uniforms are the worst

A+ camera work. Framed perfectly all by accident.

Raiders have it too. It can work if the owners care about it.

You don't think the owners cared about it for the Super Bowl?

Chris Long is one player I wish was an Eagle for longer. Loved him coming out of UVA and was so glad the Eagles signed him. Really cool that he's embraced his time in Philly so much and from what it seems considers himself an Eagle even though he played 8 years in STL. And Beau is just a guy you want to have around. Should have brough him back rather than let him walk.

I liked Beau Allen for who he is and where he was drafted. But it didn’t make sense to bring him back as 3rd DT at $5M per year when he didn’t exactly fit in the scheme. Also keep in mind the last time he played in the NFL was when he was 28 and retired shortly after. Good dude, good use of a 7th round pick but not a guy you extend.
