Do we remember Mark McMillan?  I'd take him over Bradberry right now.

I agree. College rules allow contact until the ball is in the air. College DBs are grabby because the rules allow it. None of that 5-yard rule the NFL uses. It’s quite an adjustment for them.
DeJean played a lot of off coverage so it may not be as much of an adjustment for him as for Mitchell.

Mitchell played mostly zone coverage at Toledo. He did look a bit grabby in the Senior Bowl practice films.

On a date?

Simply put, Shon Stephens shut down John Ross and that was enough for the Eagles.

Eagles can cut Bradberry at any point, they haven't used a single post June 1st designation, so they still have 2. But there really isn't a point. He's been paid his money and his cap number doesn't have any advantage to release him. He doesn't seem like a bad locker room guy and he doesn't seem like he wants to be somewhere else, so he'll enter camp and compete. We'll see if anyone offers anything for him, but it's doubtful. When the cuts start, that's probably the time to watch.

I thought both played decently for rookies.

Ringo especially is a project. He’s STILL the youngest DB on our roster. 6’2”, 4.3 speed, can hit, solid hands, and was a clutch player in college.

To me, Ringo has a roster spot through next season. You don’t draft a guy of his profile where you know it’s going to take a while to develop him and then dump him after one season. That doesn’t make sense.

Even next year he will be younger than a lot of rookies we bring in. Let him develop and after year 3 you can make a decision on his progress. But the talent is there to develop into a high quality starter, and if that happens our secondary should have long term stability.

My recollection is that Ricks didn't play well during the season.  I think Ringo looked OK in the pre-season and I agree with you on the rest of your points.  Ideally Ringo progresses so the team moves on from Slay after next season.

It will be a complete fail if he's not the 2nd string QB by the end of training camp.

versatile freakbeast,  a weapon who could be used on offense.  The Eagles have accumulated a good number of those versatile freakbeasts over the last few years.

He's also going to be a 25 year old rookie. ICK!

Two-gapping, as the name implies, is more complex that a one-gap front. And yes, you can run a pure one-gap 3-4 defense and be successful. See Wade Phillips. Agree with the first part though, where Fangio runs sort of a one-gap plus.

I really hope they line davis up over the center all game long. Make the OL work hard to help each other

I doubt he's wearing the green dot as a rookie in the secondary.

yeah.   I'm saying Nakobe Dean would be wearing the green dot,  which was the plan last year.  As ILB.   At the other ILB spot,  that's more of a rotation.   Looking at White,  who had a high draft pick and hiras,  but his PFF has been low,  maybe he's not playing all the snaps.  Maybe he's not playing on run downs?  But is playing on pass downs?  Because White's PFFs in run defense were not good at all, very low,  dragging down his overall PFF.  The pass rush and coverage PFFs were better.   So,  maybe VanSumeren gets some snaps in areas where he is better than White and White gets snaps where he is better than VanSumeren.   Or maybe there are OLBs like Nolan Smith and ILBs like VanSumeren who are doing unpredictable things.  The Eagles have a lot of top athletes in that 230-250 range who are either OLB or ILB.   Having a lot of top athletes at those positions says to me that they aren't going to keep one player in one place the whole game.  Generally, the green dot does stay on the field the whole game,  like the QB.   In the future,  probably not 2024,  it seems to me like Cooper DeJean might be a good green dot, depending on how Dean does and how DeJean does and what they have him doing.

As to the whole question of ILB,  the Eagles have a lot more there now than they did last year.   Losing TJ Edwards, with a PFF over 80 in 2022, hurt.  If Morrow came in and played at a 80+ level, and he was never hurt, everything would have been fine.   But that's not what happened.  However,  even last year,  the ILBs were about average,  not bad, the way the CBs largely were.  Not a lot of ILBs with PFFs from 40-60.

Probably gonna be predicated on the offensive personnel. When we see 3 and 4 WR sets, we finally have some depth to deploy 5 and 6 DBs with regularity so I'm curious to see how many snaps he'll actually get. Hoping to see a more balanced rotation with the DL and OLBs than we saw last year. Gotta imagine a guy like Davis still ends up behind Carter, Sweat, Huff, and maybe even Williams.

I get the end of last season was a trainwreck, but let's not forget Davis absolutely played like a first round pick for the first half of the year. Nobody played well the last quarter-ish.

Now he gets to play with an actual pro DC. And he's at the point where he's had plenty of time to optimize his conditioning.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

Davis looked worn down the second half. He didn’t take the wear of an NFL season into account last offseason.  Only saw a short view on the PE.com lift clip but he looked less flabby this year.  Hope that means he took the offseason seriously this year.

Fangio brought in Clint Hurtt for the interior DL.  That may make a huge difference for that group.  Hurtt has a track record of developing DL.  They kept Washburn for the DE/OLBs.  Rocker went back to Tennessee.  Rocker didn’t really do much to develop the interior DL.  Given the investment on DTs, that was kind of disappointing.  I have some optimism that we see better performance from all the young DTs, including Ojomo.  All the DTs are on rookie contracts but note, only Marlon T and Milton Williams have more time than Davis.  Hurtt has a lot of youth to develop.

Jalen Hurts is a creeper in the weight room. Look at how happy Barkley's glutes make him.

I wonder if the realization that he played like a $25 million a year player in the first half of the season and a $2.5 million a year player in the second half had any impact on the way he approached this offseason.

Now to figure out his RAS score.

You don't have to try so hard to troll  Plus the trainer was standing behind Barkley so if anything it's the trainer's glutes that Hurts like.

Poor effort at best

Nike has turned in to the worst thing for sports. I thought the Phillies were bad (and they are). But these are just next level putrid. I hate City Connect so much.

This looks so much like the Phillies city connect uniform.  Both of which are absolutely abhorrent.

Is Dark blue, light blue, and black required colors on the city connect?   Maybe they just started with the Phillies city connect, removed the yellow and the dumb looking lighting letters, added 'MOTOR CITY' and then rolled?

I really like Tampa Bay's city connect uniform.  That's fire.

Only SF and GB have gone to more NFCCGs in that time (9 each).

And Washington has not gone once in that time.  NYG - 3 and Dallas - 2.

I like how youve mapped out where all the man glutes are in the room at any given time.
