I'm glad Vic pushed to have some of the starters play because this defense really needs it. He's got his hands full it seems.

I really didnt ever think it was a question worth entertaining. He was an elite punt returner last year. You dont just cut those guys. And I really had hope that he would be utilized on offense this year since his skillset is a nice match for that Moore does. So far, so good. He gave us 2 productive WR screens which we could never do last year.

VanSpecialteams with the tackle there.

They could probably roll with just 2 TEs on the roster. You have Steen or Becton as the 6th OL or they can use Johnny Wilson who can actually block too. 

Johnny Wilson caught the slant route on 3rd down on the opening drive, and then has been nothing but disappointment- exactly as expected when you watched him play in college. Big, slow, no separation, and does not play big, and drops.

He should really try converting to TE. If he can get better separation against LBs it might help his hands as well, not trying to make contested catches all the time.

Have not liked what I’ve seen from any of the WRs so far which isn’t a shock because they did Jack crap with the position other than bargain bin free agents and late round draft picks.

As far as what we have tonight- Covey is a fine #4, and we lack a #3. Ross is small and plays small. Wilson is big, and plays small, and slow.

Look at Shipley on ST coverage now too. What a guy.

3 tackles for Hunt. 4 tackles for Trotter.

Some think Campbell may get cut. Would be insane to me. Not because he's really good, he isn't. But has far and away the most speed and juice of the other WRs.

It may be worth noting that John Ross with his 4.2 speed has gotten no separation likely in large part due to Wiggins having 4.2 speed as well. 

Ross MAY look a bit better going up against almost any other CB.

On the other hand, hes not inspiring a ton of confidence with his play style/strength. 

Im not saying hes gonna be surprisingly good. But he may not be quite this bad either.

He's been bad his whole career, he stinks. Anything other than him being bad was a major upset. The dude came out of retirement to play again. There's no way to dissect it other than Howie majorly neglected WR this offseason, which I just cannot fathom considering how bad WR3 was last year.

He needs to call up Green Bay and ask for their No. 5 receiver. Whoever that is would be our WR3.
