Based on usage. We're already reading that they want to give Barkley around 16 touches per game while giving Gainwell a chunk too. IMO, if you pay Barkley all that money, let him be the lead dog and don't have him on a touch count while trying to get Gainwell the ball. There shouldn't be any talk of limiting his touches. He shouldn't be coming off the field.

Who cares. Barkley is the better football player. 16 touches from Barkley will be better than 16 touches from Swift. I'm also not sure where you are getting this 16 touches thing from but unless one of the coaches came right out and said it, again, who cares. I would like to see Barkley get around 20 touches a game myself which is a nice number and hopefully allows him to be fresh and healthy for the playoffs.

Some other names that could be WR trade targets:

Rashod Bateman

Nelson Agholor - yes, really. If it weren't for the concentration drops, skill wise, he's honestly what the Eagles could use as a slot guy. A guy on a cheap contract with down field speed and over the middle quickness. Prob would cost next to nothing.

I"m not sure Agholor would work here just because of the mental side of things and he also seems to do better in a bigger role. I think only getting a few targets a game would lead to those concentration drops. That being said, he would be a legit upgrade over everything they currently have and while it was only one season people underrate just how valuable and good he was during the SB win and that entire season.

Like I said, I would start by bringing in JJSS for a workout this week.

I'm finally got to watch some highlights of the game. Love what I saw out of the young secondary guys. WR3 is weak.  Shipley is a player. LBs had some good plays but mostly in runs/rushes, didn't see anything that blew me away in coverage which was the bigger question mark with this group. I'm way too hype for Jayx.

Anything else I missed?

I'm pretty sure AJ Brown mocked him after getting released and then deleted the tweet. I don't think we'll be disrupting our current offensive chemistry. Those two don't get along.

JJ had 78 catches for 933 yards in 2022, is only 27, and a perfect slot WR. If the Eagles want him and he's interested that ishe will get squashed real quick. He is BY FAR the best WR out on the market right now and the Eagles have a need. AJ's feelings will change quick if they have to.

A 23 year-old guy who looks 30 already.

Juju’s contract was something like $7M guaranteed for the year and they still cut him. He either had to have been really bad or something else was brewing behind the scenes. Patriots are rebuilding but on the same hand you would think they would want to have weapons around their rookie QB.

I blame the hitters. Nelson has been awful at home this year. Entering the game with close to a 5.50 era. They managed to score 2 off him.

Blue claws played the blue rocks last night. I was there. So of course the Blue Claws lost.

Starting right guard?

Don’t think so, although he may be making a case to be first in off the bench.

Took a few goes to watch the game, nothing awe inspiring.  But...

  • Ringo looks to have taken a leap this offseason. He looks confident out there.
  • I have no idea who some of the camp bodies are - thanks Eagles for making TC so bland
  • Pickett looks to be playing on 1/2 speed out there. Why did the Steelers spend a 1st on him?
  • WR depth is meh. Smith waving the ball about like that is dumb
  • I suspect the coaches will be happy with what they saw, good and bad

Interesting notes in here. Back to my CB discussion earlier. Neither Zech McPhearson or Shon Stephens logged a snap. Not good for them. Still an abundance of CB to figure out what to do with.

I must be getting senile. It sure looked to me that Toth was playing center, not tackle.

Dallas Turner looking good

Jordan Love throws a TD pass to Dontayvion Wicks on the third play of the game. Easy pitch and catch.

Becton was playing high. Not surprising considering his size and that it was his first game ever at guard, and right guard at that. Another thing that stood out to me was that his timing was a little off with Toth. When he tapped Toth to tell him to snap the ball, he was not always all the way square to the LOS when Toth snapped it. It also contributed to his playing high. Stoutland can fix that.

Of the other guys, the player who stood out most for me was Keegan. He was a rock in pass pro, excellent in his double-teams, and pulled nicely on at least two plays. I would like to see him get a little stickier when blocking in space. He was an absolute steal in the fifth round.

He was playing center at least for the first half, and got pushed back so far back on the tush push.

He was.  I found it a little strange that Hennessy was 2nd Team Center but it was Toth that got the initial snaps.Perhaps says a lot about they see Toth internally, even if he doesn't have the pro snaps in his locker

Like I said the other day... this guy is going to be a fixture in the NFL for the next decade.

I really like this draft pick.

We haven’t won a Super Bowl since Nelson left.  It’s exactly like the curse of the Bambino and we need to bring him back.

Yep. It's just going to take one injury for him to get in the lineup at RG and it's his.

Thanks. I definitely don’t have PTSD from Christmas Eve 2022.

I'd rather have him than Pickett tbh
