Complete joke that we passed on this guy in round 3, fell right to Howie and he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

When he gets hurt again, you'd be going LOL Howie taking another injury-prone player.

There's a reason every team passed on him 3 times

Has Anais Smith already locked up the Nasty Nate?🏆

More like the Clayton Thorson award.

I think the Eagles are going to be quite good this year, but I really don't think Howie had a great offseason. I liked the draft, but that's TBD. I liked CJGJ. But overall I was not a fan of what they did in free agency. I think they're heavily gambling at so many positions. RG, EDGE, LB, WR3.

Does Ngakoue have anything left? I'd feel better if they just had one more proven guy who could get after the QB just in case. If Huff isn't a stud, the team is going to have serious issues on defense.

Meh, he has an extensive injury history, which caused him to drop.

Third round. Howie used a 2nd rounder on a guy who tore his torn achilles a month before the draft. Wilson looks like a complete stud LB in his first go at it in this league. Could've used that, may have been the finishing touch at a position this D desperately needs and have needed for years now, but nope, linebackers don't matter in Howie world.

Signing Sterns doesn’t sound like it makes much sense. Cut down is basically two weeks away.

Nah, this guy had a high grade. This wasn't Davion Taylor or Brian Smith, who were also 3rd rounders that never came close to the grade Wilson has that were major reaches. Wilson is the kind of player you take a shot on in the 3rd, Howie has done this type of thing many times before with richer picks no less. Wilson looked perfectly fine to me the other night blowing up Pierce who ran roughshod over and through our paper defense just a couple years ago.

Makes sense to kick the tires now though and maybe sign him to the PS after cut down.

Young and looked promising when he played. Maybe he can be ir'd? Quarterman was basically useless and brought nothing to an already terrible LB room.

We have a 90 man roster right now. This is the perfect time to bring him in. If and when we cut him, will there really be teams willing to put him on their 53? I doubt it.

You don't really expect to get more than a rookie contract out of a linebacker. 4 years of good linebacker play on a rookie deal is plenty good.

If he's a star. But he's still an unknown like any pick. If you have a guy who's Patrick Willis level for 4 years and you look back and go, yeah those 4 years were enough. But in the moment when you're drafting and already think, before the guy has proven anything, that he won't make it to a second contract, then I completely get passing on him. There were several players I was annoyed they passed on in the draft. He wasn't really one of them.

Seems like Avonte Maddox may be fully moved to safety. I wonder if he'll ever get snaps at NCB again.

He was just claimed with the top waiver spot a few days ago. If it comes out he’s healthy enough to practice will he clear waivers again?

We currently have one average safety and a bunch of jags. Would be nice to sign someone that can actually play. This feels like Justin Evans all over again.

Wasn't too thrilled with the defense the first couple drives with the starters. Obviously it's early, but Rodgers seemed to play too soft, Mitchell had a nice play but then looked lost on another, Ravens back up RB sliced right through like we had witnessed way too many times in the past... Linebackers seem to be what most have been thinking and saying, they are not good. I had been holding out hope with Vic singing the praises of Baun, but he didn't show anything good at all. I would think we need to get him out there more the next game, and if it's the same garbage, Howie better do something. Love Trot but I doubt he's ready to be a starter and it wouldn't be fair to thrust him into such a role.

Trotters instincts and nose for the ball are going to have him starting by the middle of the season. I think he can be a big help

He looked pretty strong there when he played, so might not be a bad thing.

Who am I trying to kid, though? He'll get hurt momentarily

He was claimed when there was nothing to lose. A 90 man roster spot is almost worthless. Once you’re at 53, there is real skin in the game.

Simmons is still out there, but it appears they have no interest. Maybe he's asking for too much money, but with this and them not wanting Reddick anymore, I think they came into the offseason in a bit of overcorrection mode where they just don't want to sign guys post 30 anymore. Probably were scared off after Bradberry's 2023 season.

I'd take 4 years of Payton Wilson with his knees instead of 4 years of different 1-year deals on  past their prime veterans and hoping Nakobe Dean can play 3 games.

In that scenario, the bigger problem isn't that they didn't take Wilson, it's that they didn't adequately address the position via other means. They had plenty of chances to add better LBs this offseason. They chose to sign a guy who hasn't looked good in 2-3 years and a guy who's never played ILB full time.

Yep. Investing money in one decent linebacker would be nice.

If we're going to be blitzing our LBs more, their coverage skills are less important. As long as our CBs can hold up, we're going to be fine.

Lol. Even Fangio was surprised.

It is refreshing for a coach to be pretty honest in a presser.

Maybe technically less important by virtue of simply having one of them cover 10 percent less, but it’s still pretty damn important not to suck in coverage.
