we may not have a choice, unfortunately.

I think the Eagles are going to be quite good this year, but I really don't think Howie had a great offseason. I liked the draft, but that's TBD. I liked CJGJ. But overall I was not a fan of what they did in free agency. I think they're heavily gambling at so many positions. RG, EDGE, LB, WR3.

Does Ngakoue have anything left? I'd feel better if they just had one more proven guy who could get after the QB just in case. If Huff isn't a stud, the team is going to have serious issues on defense.

After seeing what’s going on with Hasan Reddick in New York, I don’t blame Howie on taking that gamble.  Time will tell if Bryce Huff pays off, but I do think that Reddick clearly has a higher value on himself than GMs do.

I’m really not too concerned about RG.

Agreed that Howie never seems to do what we want/need at LB.  Hopefully Trotter develops and is more than just a feel good draft pick.

As for WR3, they are pretty much in the same boat as most teams are in the league.  I like what I see from Wilson so far… Particularly his blocking.

Could have gone without the description of the vomit

Off the top of my head, I’d prefer the following third WRs to what we have…

Giants — Slayton or Robinson

Cardinals — Zay Jones

Bears — Odunze

Cowboys — Tolbert

Packers — any of their 3-5

Rams — DeMarcus Robinson

Patriots — Pop Douglas

Jets — Corley or Lazard (even if he was a disaster last year)

Bills — Coleman or Samuel or Shakir, whoever you put third

Colts — AD Mitchell or Pierce

Jacksonville — Brian Thomas or Gabe Davis (although they technically will outsnap Kirk since he only plays in 3WR sets)

Chargers — The husk of Chark

Niners — Jennings or Pearsall

Seahawks — JSN or Lockett

Browns — Moore or Tillman

Bengals — Iosevas or Burton

Titans — Boyd

Texans — Diggs or Dell. Even the 4/5 of Brown and Woods is better

Saints — Cedrick Wilson

Ravens — Agholor (yeah, I know, but he’s better than what we have)

They may very well trade for someone, but after how Fing awful Quez was last year, to not sign a guy like Noah Brown or Cedrick Wilson was odd.

I wonder if the Eagles are trying to roll over a lot of cap room to next season. Because for a team coming off a historic collapse, this felt like such a half measure free agency. Aggressively tried to upgrade some positions, but not others. Guys who are clear upgrades over what they had, they didn't even bother pursuing. But they still added guys, so it shows you they feel it's an area of need, but the guys they added are really uninspiring.

But even guys like Noah Brown and Wilson got very little money, have experience in a Moore offense, yet the guys the Eagles went after were Parker and Campbell. Then waited til the late rounds to add a WR. Cuh maaahn.

When ESP finds a bit, he leans all the way into it.

Ainias apparently had another bad practice today. Dropped some passes, no separation.

I went from finding it annoying to liking it now, because the people who legit get angry angry at such a harmless bit are far more annoying than the bit itself. It's just sports and seeing people curse him out over his Hurts INT thing or stuff like this is really sad. People really need to get a life.

Sharp Football's best available FAs at WR, a few days out of date (Robbie Chosen got signed by SF).

Davis and maybe Renfrow are the only intriguing guys. Highly likely we see a trade, my money's on Noah Brown.

It’s Renfrow or trade IMO.

Report: Cowboys monitoring Panthers RB Miles Sanders

Could Miles Sanders be heading back to the NFC East?

The Carolina Panthers running back may be of interest to the Dallas Cowboys—who still seem to be sorting out their backfield, Anthony Rizzuti of USA Today's Panthers Wire reports. This according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Fowler, after recently visiting the reigning division champions at training camp, wrote the following of their situation:

The Cowboys know they face questions at running back after losing Tony Pollard to a bigger contract in Tennessee. They will monitor the Ezekiel Elliott-Rico Dowdle-Royce Freeman experience, while keeping a short list of external options, just in case. Carolina’s Miles Sanders is on that list. And Dalvin Cook has shown interest in playing for Dallas. As it stands, Elliott is slated as the starter, but the Cowboys will manage his snaps. They need Dowdle to stay healthy; McCarthy likes what he has shown in camp. And the team really likes Freeman’s tape from the Rams last season and believes he can be an impact RB2/RB3 option — a banger in small doses.

After spending his first four NFL seasons as a member the Philadelphia Eagles, Sanders signed a four-year, $25.4 million deal with the Panthers in the spring of 2023. He’d go on to experience his worst campaign as a pro—hitting lows in starts (five), attempts (129) and rushing yards (432) while averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

The 27-year-old could be a third wheel in Carolina upon the clearance of rookie Jonathon Brooks, whom the team selected with the 46th overall of the 2024 draft.

Just trade for Robert Woods and fix WR3 long term next year

That would do it. Not sure if Houston, whom is a young team with a young QB would want to give Woods away though. He could be critical down the stretch and in big spots for them, plus if he is viewed as a leader in that young locker room, then I doubt they'd trade him. But I am not sure about him in that regard.

They have Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, Tank Dell, John Metchie, Robert Woods and Noah Brown. Off the top of my head that’s the strongest WR room and probably not even close. One of them has to go and I’d guess Woods is the most likely. Diggs can be the leader.

How do you "win” joint practices? Is he counting all the individual rep wins?

I want Metchie. Woods is old and busted

The diamond in the rough WR in Houston imo would be Xavier Hutchinson.

I thought we only lost to the Browns.  Who else did we lose a joint practice to?  Did we go 0-2 last year?

Me too but it depends on what they want for him.  They could use a veteran CB/S, but I don't know if Bradberry gets it done for them.  They could just easily cut Woods and hang onto Metchie for depth.

I miss Ray Didinger.

He is what a true sports journalist is and should be.

Sadly, this is what passes for journalism and reporting nowadays.
