Ainias apparently had another bad practice today. Dropped some passes, no separation.

Yet Malik Washington was looking good in Miami

Go figure

Watching that tape makes me feel a little better about our LBs.  For the most part they are doing their job against the run.

There are hardly any LBs in the NFL that can cover Rbs, Te's, slot Wrs down the field.  As long as they can stay close to limit gains and make tackles in the open field, then they are doing their jobs.

I can't believe I am saying this but I actually think bringing back Cunningham (barring a better option) after the first week should be in the cards.  He wasn't great but he was pretty decent against the pass with his arm length.  Overall played solid despite the dumpster fire that was the defense

I miss Ray Didinger.

He is what a true sports journalist is and should be.

Sadly, this is what passes for journalism and reporting nowadays.

i agree completely.

Jelani Woods is running as the Colts’ TE4 right now and played in the third and fourth quarters today. He’d be worth making a call on considering we have nothing at TE3.

How do you "win” joint practices? Is he counting all the individual rep wins?

How do you set a record for something no one has ever kept track of?

He's a troll. He gets clicks and interaction so dare I say, good for him for knowing how to use his platform.

Stetson Bennett is the best QB in the NFL

Some rumblings out there about the Eagles talking to the Texans about their WRs, but they don't seem to be from any accounts that I recognize as breaking legit news before, so not gonna link them here, but worth keeping in the back of your mind. That is the one team that does seem to make the most sense if they were to trade for a WR.

Yea we probably wouldn’t have drafted him if not for the QB experience.

I wouldn't say that.

I'm just saying that he did have that experience, and that the Eagles did take him.  I liked him,  and they took him.  I don't know exactly why they took him.  The Eagles take a good number of players I wanted.  I was calling for the exact trade up for Cooper,  started talking about a trade when I noticed that the 2 picks in the middle 2nd wouldn't get someone I liked,  there were a good number of players I liked between 40-45,  and thought that 2 2nds would get a better 2nd and a 3rd. Then DeJean fell out of the first,  DeJean being who most here thought we'd get at 22,  someone suggested getting DeJean in the second,  and I approved, and typed out the trade scenario, and was on it,  even typing "trade now" at almost the exact second the trade was made.  And they got DeJean.  I'm pleased with both of the picks,  I thought Quinyon would be gone, but liked him more than the other one, and suggested the Ravens might want to assess Quinyon, but not saying I liked him so much to trade up to where he was supposed to go, like 10-15.   Also had Johnny Wilson on my day 3 / udfa list.   Big WRs are somewhat rare,  they often do well,  a much higher percentage of the time a player who is 6'3+ 220+ 4.52 or better at WR goes to the pro bowl.  Johnny Wilson is very close to Mike Evans.   And there aren't a lot of players who are that similar to Mike Evans,  and Mike Evans has done really well for a long time.  So,  I'm happy with the 3 I wanted before the draft.  And the rest have been good except 1.

2 years in a row,  the fans got their pick, or the consensus pick, with the second pick after the Eagles took a very similar player with the 1st pick.   Interesting,  would be an interesting formula to use to predict for next year.

The Ravens started with a very massive Center-Guard combination,  with 370 pound Ben Cleveland playing Center and 380 pound Daniel Faalele playing Right Guard.  Neither had great PFF numbers,  in the 60s,  but they're big guys who are hard to move.   Faalele stonewalled Davis one on one - and Davis ended up with a really low PFF.   Davis won't be seeing a 370 pound Center and a 380 pound Guard next to him in regular season games.

Thanks for pointing that out - was worried that we picked up where we left off last year.

Uzomah was the 4th best run blocking TE in the NFL last year with a 74.5.   Solid,  I'll take that.

I could suggest that Steen could be RG, and Becton could be used as a 6th TE to do great run blocking.  But what usually happens is that things like that don't usually happen.  So,  because what I actually want isn't going to happen,  having an actual TE (not an OL playing TE) doing great TE run blocking will help the run game.  And that's Uzomah.  Johnny Wilson at WR doing great run blocking for a WR will also help the run game.  I'm also good with Albert O,  but that's mostly based on size and speed, and one good year a few years back.  Uzomah was 4th best just last year,  so,  I think you'll get that.    I can find players on defense who can play run blocking TE sufficiently well, perhaps dominantly so.  Carter, Davis.  But, again,  unless that happens,  an actual blocking TE is needed.

Btw, Wiggans was really impressive for the Ravens.  I hope  Mitchell measures up going forward.

I refuse to believe that until I see what his RAS is.

Wiggins got injured unfortunately. Which was a big concern with him coming out of college.

and DeJean.  Each will bring certain strengths and weaknesses.   Wiggins was the fastest and was the best at coverage.  But he's light, and there are concerns the weight might not help with tackling.    Some Ravens fans on their board don't think Wiggins is tough enough.  Not like a Raven.  Most are quite happy.  minor sprain,  day to day on his injury.  I think you might be getting more INTs from Q Mitchell and DeJean.  Wiggins just seems to blanket the wrs,  not entirely concerned with the ball,  the ball hit Wiggins on the back.  Q is trying to make ints.   Cooper was a hs QB, Quinyon was a hs RB, Wiggins was a hs WR.  I like them all.

A lot of this I’m seeing Dean actually be impactful in coverage and occupying proper holes. The defense seems to understand the concept of the play, and I hope to see them passing off/switching zones as smoothly as they’ve shown in some instances in pre season.

last year it seemed everyone was just occupying grass and ignoring threats.

Man that Quez Watkins muff was BRUTAL.

For sure.  Just do your job.  Alot of free lancing last year.

Watching White and Baun highlights, I can see how they could fit into this defense.  Again, if they play within the defense. Think we are going to see some blitzes from them.

If Hunt can continue his development, I think that presents a lot of problems for an offense with his rush and coverage abilities.

The rest Dean (if healthy), Trotter Jr and Vansumeren can play.  Look, we got a new defensive coordinator and they are still learning.  They have the ability.

Would I turn down an obvious upgrade?  Hell no but I don't think it is as a desperate need as some

Third round. Howie used a 2nd rounder on a guy who tore his torn achilles a month before the draft. Wilson looks like a complete stud LB in his first go at it in this league. Could've used that, may have been the finishing touch at a position this D desperately needs and have needed for years now, but nope, linebackers don't matter in Howie world.

Cooper dejean while yes had an injury he didnt have an " extensive" injury history.

There were reports that some teams took payton wilson off their draft boards due to his injuries, having said that yes Howie has a long history of not taking LBs early.

Maybe hes gun shy after watching Reid and Banner draft Barry Gardner, quinton Caver, Matt Mccoy and Kendricks all in the 2nd round ...☹️

Not really, the punter hit a boomer and watkins had to retreat ive seen plenty of guys over the years mishandle punts that were going over their heads

Having said that not sure what hes doing back there anyway, hes got good speed but not a lot of wiggle.

Then Wiggins got hurt.  Not sure what the injury is but he left the field.  Size was always a question with Wiggins and I have the same concern about Rodgers.

He threw some ugly picks, but I think that’s something McVay can coach him up on.  He also looked good on some throws….especially the game winner.  I don’t see him as a starter in this league, but he can perhaps develop into a decent backup
