Nothing thr Hurts Haters hate more than Hirts having a great training camp.

I'm not a Hurts hater at all. I'm often a Hurts defender. The trophy was to point out the idiocy of celebrating training camp accomplishments. He wears a red shirt, right? Doesn't get touched, right? There is little contact--receivers aren't in fear of getting smacked, right? Hardly a worthy context to celebrate a completions "record." In pre-snap drills, when it is just the QBs and WRs playing pitch and catch, what's the current record there? He's probably close to breaking that one as well.

Well, I did just now.

Yeah, I got the same label… Apparently I’m a hater because I think it’s a stupid stat as well.  Don’t take it personally… He thinks everybody is a hater who does not walk around with Hurts PJs on 24/7

Berman said the Eagles OL didn't perform as well as he would've liked today. Gave up some pressure and running holes weren't very big.

Bo and Zach both agreed that all of the Patriots WRs looked better than anyone on the Eagles not named Brown or Smith, so this could be another team they explore a trade with if they want to add a WR.

"We have answers now."  Those 4 words say it all, don't they.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion people had last year when they were constantly blaming Hurts for not throwing hot or being unable to beat the blitz. Felt like that debate came up almost every week and despite all the evidence that piled up by the end of the season, they were still thinking it was like madden where a QB could just walk up to the line and start changing routes without regard to the play design or input from the OC during the play call.

There have been so many comments from players on offense about how the COACHING is fixing problems with handling the blitz and creating more innovation. People criticize Hurts for not doing something about the blitz, while at the same time criticizing him for changing plays the coaches called. It always starts with coaching and play design. I still think the main problem - and there were others - was the coaching and their lack of making necessary changes when there were problems.

The one bad thing about the archived blog threads is that they aren't indexed anymore so you can't search them, but those who were blaming Hurts for this every week know who they are, even if they won't man up and eat crow on this.

Is it possible that baby Trot ends up beating out Baun, Dean, and White as the best ILB on the team by mid-season? I know it's early and an awfully small sample size but seems like that's where he's headed at this rate.

I still blame him

you expect his teammates to throw him under the bus? Far easier to blame the fired guy. Basic office politics

Uhh, you do know Sirianni is still on the staff right? That's just as much an indictment on him as it was Johnson.

Not so sure about that.  Pearsall has looked pretty good for them so far.

And from what I've seen from a lot of Niners fans, is that they're not all that upset if Aiyuk is gone.  They think his stats are inflated because he's a checkdown option behind Deebo, Kittle and McCaffrey.  If that's the case, Pearsall should be able to walk into that sort of role pretty easily.

I could swe him being better than Dean and Baun but I think White is going to be the best Lb

No Dov, I don’t.  49ers lost some players on D and they may be better or worse there. Aiyuk may be going to the Steelers so there is that to factor in.  Lions revamped their secondary like the Eagles.  I’d say we are neck and neck. Green Bay’s OL has to be factored in just like the 49ers. Detroit and Eagles are better there.  Think the Love for Love with Green Bay’s finish last year may be overstated. Not sure the Texans have risen that high and I like them.  Until Burrows shows no lingering impact from the injury, it is too early to rank them that high.

White's an absolute gangter when rushing the passer and stopping the run. The problem with White is that he's still hot diarrhea in coverage.

As a Bay Area resident, I can tell you that local sports radio has been Aiyuk Aiyuk Aiyuk all day all night for well over a week now.  Their fans generally do not think Aiyuk is a top 10 guy (though some do -- Niners fans are a surprisingly unsophisticated bunch), but they do think his presence opens up other receivers and other receivers open him up -- i.e., that he is not a force unto himself, but his presence makes that offense a force.

Bradberry should be red.

Why do you say that? How many healthy safeties have we got?

It's crazy to me how many people in here get so worked up over the ESP Jalen Hurts no INT streak - you guys know he's 100% trolling all you dorks, right?

Do we have any good coverage LBs at this point

Red are candidates to trade or upgrade during cut downs, I think the rest are basically locks.

I feel they will put the 3 best corners out there and Q showed he belongs. He needs to be out on the field even if its at nickle.  The Eagles can go lighter at DB since they have several hybrid type players like CJGJ, Bradberry, Maddox, Q, DeJean, plus Sydney Brown. Howie has turned this position group around and is almost a log jam now.

getting rid of Ricks and Jobe - with PFFs in the 40s last year - solves that log jam.  Fixing the CB problem of last year pretty much means that the CBs who were terrible last year (Ricks and Jobe) aren't playing.

Some of them are in the Hurts got paid, he's done, thread. All the stuff that's come out about the coaching, they obviously brought in a new OC and Siri isn't even in the offensive meeting rooms hardly at all anymore, and all the players are happier about the new coaches. Yet some of these guys solely blame Hurts. He had his issues too, and so did the O line (there were times they were awful in pass protection but no one wants to admi that), the defense was horrid, and other problems. There is plenty of blame to go around.

That's why I'm thinking Trot may just end up being the best, somehow.

They're right, Aiyuk is not a true #1, he's always been overrated. And his stats aren't just inflated because of that, they are literally inflated. As in, statisticians juice them to make them look better than they are. They regularly do this for California, Boston, and NY athletes. His actual receiving yards last year was just around 800.
