Went to the grocery store today and as I was coming out a guy in a Dolphins shirt was getting out of his car.  His steering wheel was wrapped in 49ers covering. Of course, I greeted him with "Go Birds”.  He just shook his head.  How does one become a Dolphins/49ers fan?

Some idiot asked AJ Brown what he thought about the Patriots QBs he went up against today.

AJ Brown said I play offense I wasnt even over there.

The reporter then ducked out of the PC and walked away.

ESP has really been on one this year.

As it stands, he'll probably have a redshirt year until/unless injuries come into play. He said he's only been learning Nickel and outside CB and there's just too much of a logjam right now for me to think a rookie having only about a week of TC will push for any type of prominent role.

I do not think this is going to be a redshirt year for Cooper DeJean… unless he gets hurt again.

If he’s healthy… Something tells me we’ll see him quite a bit

We traded a 3rd and two 7th's for Pickett and a 4th.

How is any of that worth a 2nd round pick to anyone else?  Pickett hasn't shown anything at all yet to bump his value up that much.

Desperation, much like the Bradford trade.  How many 1st round selection QBs with winning records for all years in the NFL on a rookie contract are available?  Anything is possible?

He was a starter for a big time program (not quite as big time as it was a couple years ago, but still big time).  He's a smart player (from all accounts) and being smart many times outweighs size, especially in the pass happy NFL of today.

There have been a few "small" LBs who have gone on to have great success.  It's early yet to annoint him, but a few guys of his stature, which I believe was one of the main reasons he fell as far as he did, have had success in the NFL.  It can be done.  It would be nice to see him do it.  I am definitely rooting for him to succeed, and yes, his name does play into that a bit.

Is 6’ 225 lbs really a "small” ILB in today’s NFL?  I was perusing The Athletic article on 2025 draft prospects to follow at LB just this morning. Many are between 5’11” and 6’1” and several are between 215-230 lbs.  White is 6’, Dean 5’11”.  Only Brandon Smith is in the 240s, the rest are in the 230s, with most in the lower 230s.  Except for Braun, 6’3” and 225.  Those extra 3” makes Braun slighter than Trot II (like the alliteration).  Question on Trot II was his speed and that sure looks like a misjudgment to me.  His football IQ looks really good.

Speaking of Braun, he was with the twos today. Result of his play last Friday?

Oren Burks knee. He hasn't practiced at all yet. Not a significant player but probably the biggest injury. DeJean, Campbell and CJGJ would be the next few that missed the most time.

B Smith and Jobe with concussions missed some time and Garner with his hammy.

Maybe I am just thinking back to yesteryear then.

Anyone watch the Giants Hard Knocks episodes? Is it worth me taking time away from Gilligan's Island reruns to watch?

But Smith is NOT a good run blocker.

His PFF shows not good blocker.  48.2.  Not good.  Many of the WRs last year were not good run blockers.  Wilson had the best PFF at run blocking for a WR of the top 20 WRs in the draft.

The goal should be to NOT give Smith and Brown every snap so that they're worn out by the playoffs - which is exactly what happened last year..  Brown has the size to be a good run blocker,  but, again,  he wasn't.  He was at 51.0.    Who was good?  the big WR,  Julio Jones. 66.7.  The replacement for Julio Jones as big WR is Johnny Wilson.  All good.

Good run blocker at WR - Johnny Wilson
Good run blocker at TE - Uzomah

The Eagles have a lot of players who aren't skill position players who could go on the field and block well, but it remains to be seen that they will actually do that,  so they should be keeping the likely best run blocking WR,  Johnny Wilson, and using him as a run blocker instead of Smith or Brown, and Uzomah, the 4th best TE run blocker in the NFL for run blocking.

IMO, Smith is a very underappreciated blocker.

The disappearance of Boston Scott was really weird last year. I was never a huge fan of his, but I feel he offered much more pop than Gainwell. Never understood why they just took him out of the offense.

Philadelphia teams and their addiction to collapsing should be studied.

So Rob Thompson isn't making it out of this season is he? Might not be on him, but someone's got to take the fall.

A lot of blocking is effort.

AJ Brown is a freak, but he doesn't block his butt off.

Uhh, you do know Sirianni is still on the staff right? That's just as much an indictment on him as it was Johnson.

They wont throw him under the bus either

Well too late for that, they kinda already did when they made multiple references to hot routes and alerts that have now been installed, with the implication that there weren't any last year.

I have a friend that's a Bears/Dolphins fan, the other one is a Bears/Chiefs fan, another one who's a Bears/ Packers fan. That's the oddest one of them all. Idk why people have multiple teams. Pick one and stick with em
