I know this is probably a stupid question.  Would it be worth kicking the tires on Desean Jackson and coaxing him out of retirement?  He might be able to contribute more than the dreck we have at WR3 right now.  He certainly knows the position.  Question would be durability and remaining speed.

Maybe Darren Sproles is available as the 3rd down back too.  😝

Make Fangio the coach.

I’m fine with him just being DC.  I don’t think he cares about future HC opportunities anymore anyway (could be wrong, but it feels that way).  Yeah he’s a bit more honest in his pressers, but I understand when coaches aren’t 100% open about injuries.  Sirianni may have his share of faults, but that’s one he shares with most coaches.

My only concern is what happens if the Eagles offense is great again?  What happens to Moore after the season?

Why not make Dom the HC?  If it's just a CEO type role that they are doing with HC on this team currently then would Big Dom not be better suited for that than Sirianni?

I disagree. Nick and the Eagles in general go so above and beyond being reasonable it becomes annoying. We all saw he hurt his ankle, just say he hurt his ankle and a general timeframe. There’s no competitive advantage if the Packers know a backup offensive linemen is out a few days or a few weeks a month before the game.

Just the other day Zack Taylor said "Mims has a strained pec and will be out several weeks. We don’t know if he’ll be ready Week 1.” I’m not even asking for that level of detail. Just give  general update for some of these guys sometimes and it would be more tolerable when he wants to be secretive about Hurts or someone more important.

Eagles beat writers trying to will this QB2 controversy. What a joke.

I hear you… but we can just agree to disagree. It’s never been something that bothered me all that much. I understand that there’s not much competitive advantage to be gained in Steen’s case, it’s more of an overall philosophy regarding discussing injuries in general…

There are things that definitely bother me about Sirianni, so I’m not trying to go out of my way to defend them… Just my take on injuries

You're concerned we might be too good offensively?

Honestly, I hope it happens. Sirianni is still an offensive minded coach. His philosophy has always been to build around the strengths of the players as opposed to a system. He's capable of learning from success and failure. If expanding Hurts' tool belt helps make this team better this season, Sirianni wouldn't hesitate to keep it going.

Also, the funny thing about the NFL is there is no coaching staff salary cap. If the Eagles want to keep the staff together they can pay the coordinators to stay. Even if a young coach like Moore earns praise for his work and another team wants him as a HC, it isn't necessarily a situation that might favor the coaching prospect. If you rush into a HC vacancy on a poorly run team, you can tarnish your reputation quickly and that can affect future opportunities.

I'm going to let next year worry about itself and hope Moore does such a great job that the Eagles can't keep him.

1 year 8 mil for Simmons. Easily could've done that here. Falcons really upgraded that defense with Judon & Simmons out of nowhere. It's ok, we have Maddox and Bradberry.

I mean the QB2 is a thing. McKee has vastly outplayed Pickett in camp and preseason after playing really well in camp and preseason last year. And Pickett has legitimately been one of the worst QBs in the NFL since he's come into the league. I don't know why reporters would just pretend like there isn't a better option on the roster for the backup QB spot. Especially since Hurts gets hurt every year.

All good points… of course we want the offense to be great again. And I don’t really worry about it at the present moment, but I am pretty confident that the offense will rebound in a big way this year.  We already saw what happened when Steichen left.

I also understand your logic regarding how not every OC should rush to grab the first HC job available to them, but very few of them listen to that logic.  Coaches have egos… And most of them believe that they will be the one to make the franchise better.

But you’re right… That’s a problem for another day

I don't want to overreact to a practice report of a single play, but It may be helpful for Pickett to be humbled on the depth chart a bit. I think the guy has talent and upside, but he just seems to be struggling a bit right now. It's something young QBs go through. Let him play against the 3rd team for awhile and see if it makes a difference.

They really are. We've been critical in here but the switch was flipped and it's clear as day they are going to do whatever they can to convince us Pickett is garbage and McKee is the next AJ Feely.

I hope the bar is higher than that ... for both guys.

Based on his Pittsburgh exit I’m not sure he’s ready to be humbled

Not sure how it shakes out this year, but our starting CB trio next year sure looks like Ringo/Mitchell/DeJean.
