covey and campbell should get the most snaps.  Covey is small, but over the last 2 years he's proven himself as an excellent punt returner in the NFL.   His resume in college and high school has a lot of undefeated QB, 2x state champion,  still, too small maybe, college 180+ catches,  a good number of runs, with a good high yards per carry.   And a passer rating of over 500,  3/3,  2 tds.    He's weapony,  we haven't really seen attempts to check that out.

Yeah covey was a big deal i highschool in Utah, he played QB at Timpview a 5A school which is just right down the street from BYU

He only started 2 yeas in HS, won state both times and mr utah football twice ended with 111 total tds in 2 years which was 4th all time in Utah HS history.

People were kind of shocked when he chose UTah over BYU, as a  Freshman he was named freshman all American then left on a 2 year church mission then tore his ACL the redshirted then had an ok senior year.

Hes already 27 years old, id love to see him get some snaps in the slot or just used on some gadget plays but if all he is is a top PR in the league ill settle for that.😁

Patriots already have a de facto GM Eliot Wolf who just ran their entire draft. They can’t name him GM yet because they are having trouble getting outside candidates to interview because everyone knows it’s basically his job and this is all procedural.

I wouldn’t expect anything to happen here.

Depending on who else interviews, this could very well be a Rooney rule mandatory interview.

At the same time, these interviews ARE good for Hunt's profile. Makes it more likely he gets hired next year for a job as other owners will find out who he is.

Possible GM openings in 2025: Jets, Saints, Giants, Broncos, Jaguars, Vikings, Falcons, Seahawks. Obviously not all of those will come open, but they're all teams who have missed the playoffs in multiple seasons recently and can justify a change.

The offseason story we all needed

It sounds like it is. It’s the first external candidate that I have found in general. They asked two other guys from Bills and Bengals who both declined.

I do agree there are benefits for taking the interview. I just don’t see this particular one leading directly to the Patriots job.

If it did, I guess we wouldnt get picks since its not the title of GM?

It likely would, is my guess. It’s the top managerial role for New England. Im guessing they are just used to calling it something different after all the years of Belichick being there.

I bet we would get screwed.

Ehh… we just drafted Smith and Wilson. Smith should be the primary slot receiver. He has great hands and RAC ability. I’d rather give the playing time to the rookie than stunt his growth.

Cowboys could’ve used him more than us…I’m happy with that

We’ll see how much/if they play Parker or Campbell. I have my doubts this team plays a 5th round rookie much if at all.

Seems like they’ve had an eye on Smith for years and were very dialed in on him in that behind the scenes video. I think he gets a crack at the slot but wouldn’t be shocked if Campbell has a vast lead for it to start camp.

I have no idea what to think of Parker. We don’t have that much depth but he also looked terrible last year.

So Gainwell knows the daily interactions with the Chiefs and their players?  A lot of BS from this and makes me want to cut him

Players know way more than you think. They talk to friends, teammates, and ex-teammates. The NFL culture is not just front office people on phones. You think Travis and Jason are the only guys who share their thoughts? Really? Every team has twenty guys who used to be on other teams.

Smith has battled some injuries which have impacted his draft stock, and he sat out of the rookie minicamp. But if he's 100 percent I would think that the Eagles would give him every chance to win the job. He has great hands, makes contested catches over the middle and runs good routes.

4.8 forty 😳 Yikes, if he were 260 like his dad maybe not as big a flag but hes 228.

Small and slow isnt generally what teams look for in nfl players...

Bull💩  Trotter Jr. has been recovering from a hamstring all year.  He played through it.  That impacted testing and frankly, his last season. How often does an ILB run forty yards. The three cone is more important.  He’s strong.  Real solid football IQ.  Decent in coverage.  Great value at 5th round.  He’ll be 235 quickly.  This did not test is a joke.  Like the NFL doesn’t have a program that assesses speed from a football stance.   Frankly, I like Trot Jr. better than Dean.

Howie took some injury risks this year. I am not worried about Will Shipley’s knee.  Not worried about A Smith’s shin but I do worry about that ankle injury.  Trot Jr.’s hamstring will recover and we probably have a 4.7 guy. I kind of feel about Junior like I did about Edwards. Film suggests solid read and react.  Consider that to knock a tenth of a second off the forty time easy.  I do worry that Trot doesn’t have quite as quick of a first step as Edwards but part of that comes with experience.  Plus, he is going to live with his Dad.  Think about watching film with Trot Sr.  Like getting an extra coach, set of eyes.

Someone commented the other day that last year we would be thrilled with Dean, White and Trotter Jr.  Well as bad as White can be, I doubt he is Morrow bad.  I expect Junior to be better than Cunningham, especially in coverage.  Dean I am not sure about that foot.  Convince me.  Add in Burks and that is solid and I expect VanSumeren to stick.  Really like his potential and the football IQ and instincts were better than I expected.  I suspect Nolan Smith and whoever backs him up at OLB will be solid back ups.  Suspect this is the end for Patrick Johnson.  I would like to see the Eagles try Brandon Smith at OLB and I would move Terrell Lewis to DE.

I would be the first to admit that this is green colored glasses and green KoolAid time of year where I tend to be encouraged by possibilities.  But I like where they are on LBs more than this time last year but… can’t say I was hoping for a bit more.

Chitterlings, send your grandmother my way.  That said, no pulled pork, no pork chops, no ham and no bacon?  Don’t get that. Last night I grilled a pork tenderloin that I bourbon based marinaded for a couple days.  Pork, it’s the other white meat.

I think the only upgrade they could have made was in the draft, and Wilson was the only guy they really passed on to pick Hunt. With his injury history, I think they made the right choice, but time will tell.

Thing I worry about with Smith is that ankle.  Frankly, he looked better pre injury so I worry the multi year eye is clouded by the before and after.

Trot has great instincts and IQ and at the same time hes a bit small and not horribly athletic.

I hope the kid works out it would be a good story but there was talk about him possibly being a 2nd Rounder  pre athletic testing then after he drops all the way to the fifth, scouts obviously got spooked by something, maybe it was his Duke game where he just got abused all game🤷‍♂️

5th Round is a good place to take a chance on a guy who doest have ideal NFL size or speed, he has some really good moments in tape but lots of draft picks do.

Casey Matthews grew up in a legacy football family didnt help him one iota, Casey looked pretty good in college too, had good instincts and high football IQ but dude just didnt have what it took in the NFL.

Maybe Trot jr. Does well have to wait and find out, im not ready to crown him just yet because hes living with his dad...

Fair points, we’ll see. The Eagles reluctance to use anyone in their rookie year taken in rounds 3/4 and beyond recently have me skeptical they use a 5th round rookie in a notoriously weak draft prominently. If he is the next Nacua during TC that changes things but I’m just not expecting much.

Don’t get that is a hilarious response.
