Mekhi now has leg injury so Toth will start at RG Sat.  RG may be our biggest concern to start the season.

I wonder if Keegan could switch to RG.  Becton's injury isn't supposed to be serious.  I haven't seen anything about Steen's injury.

Great news for you and your family!

Thanks. For 5 years the doctors have been telling her that it would never go away, she'd have it for the rest of her life. In March, one of the nurse practitioners got down on her knees in front of her and said "You are a walking miracle!", but she never explained why she said that. Now we know why.

Probably because he doesn't attack posters, which is admirable considering how often he is singled out in posts like this. You think a person should be banned just because they have an unpopular opinion about something football related?

I mean, I don't think RAS scores are going to make or break a player in the NFL. I find them interesting as a tool to measure and compare a player's athleticism with another's. In no way does it measure football IQ, instincts, hustle, or heart. So, IMO, that's where the relevance ends. But I don't get bent out of shape because another person prioritizes athleticism over other attributes.

I believe professional players need to spend as much time perfecting their play at their key position as possible and don't really get into the "cute" stuff trying to use their athleticism at a completely different position. But there have been coaches in the NFL that have toyed with such ideas, so it's not completely absurd. I just don't think Refrigerator Perry is a better RB than Walter Payton or that Taysom Hill was ever a better QB than Drew Brees. IMO, you don't take out an all-time great player to use gimmicks that really in the end don't statistically have merit.

I do really like dual threat QBs and I'm pretty sure my opinion already strays away from the mainstream in that I don't worry about the "injury risk" of running. I have my own argument on that matter which people, I'm sure, have already seen. But I'm not so into dual threat QBs that I'd consider just cycling through the lesser talented ones to save money on contracts. I'm all for finding the right starter and sticking with him / building around him.

Finally, I don't understand having two favorite teams, but I'm not going to tell somebody else how to enjoy sports.

Am I missing something that just makes RR a terrible all around person that should be banned?

See below for just two recent examples. Delusions of grandeur, and Dunning-Kruger syndrome at their finest. He's an annoyance. At this point, he's kind of the EMB equivalent of that one friend from your childhood friend group you all disliked but didn't mind him once in a while since he would eat bugs or something else dumb for the group's entertainment.

It's data.

You seem to be against the use of data.   Opinions for you.  You're going with either the louder, more obnoxious one on the radio station,  or the more quiet one, who sits next to him.

I would like more data,  but I'll take the data that's there.

Eagles fans are never worried when they take positions that fly against the data.  They're wrong a lot.

why?

The Eagles bring in my players and I'm on top of trades.  For the most part, the coaches aren't all over my innovations,  but I'm still typing them out.

It's commonplace here for posters to just repeat talk radio arguments and trash the Eagles front office, coaches and players.

And apparently,  you think that's all good.

So here we are, 2 weeks in to camp, 2 games played and a pretty good feeling about what the final roster is going to look like. One thing when comparing the offense and defense is that while the top talent at key positions might be better on offense, the defense has much more depth and young talent.

On offense, behind the starters, there isn't a single skill player I would be upset if another team poached them. No one has jumped off the screen and made me say, wow I can't wait to see this guy develop down the road. The OL has some depth and I think Keegan and McMahon could be long-term starters so it's nice seeing those two guys play. I don't think a single skill player on offense would get claimed once cut. A few OL would.

On the defensive side of the ball there are young DL, DB and LB who all flash starter or key contributor potential. Ojomo, Booker, Hunt, Johnson, Dean (yes I've been critical), Trotter, BVS, all the DB have all shown me something. It's going to be tough to make those final 2 cuts. There are going to be teams who want players the Eagles cut on defense.

This team is so stacked at the top on offense and that's great, but next draft they need to refill the cupboard with some high end skill position talent.

I would be upset if another team poached Covey.  I like his career trajectory.  It was a modest start, only as a PR, but the improvement in that area may be a portent of saimilar improvement as a receiver.  Time will tell.

I'm looking at him more as a ST player, not offense. Probably the wrong outlook so I agree with you there.

Never say never I know but I'd be surprised if Covey is cut. We'll know soon enough.

Looks like they are trying to simulate a game week.  Thursday will likely be similar to a Friday practice if the game were on Sunday.

I'd be upset losing Covey or Shipley. That's it.

It was discussed earlier.  They will hopefully keep the younger players with upside on the 53.

Veterans that are cut aren't subject to waivers and can choose to wait for the Eagles to bring them back in the event of subsequent roster moves.

Oh, hey, you shouldn't be talking about other posters.   This is eaglesmessageboard.com,  not eaglesfansmessageboards,  where eagles fans talk about other eagles fans.    Personal attacks welcome.  I don't really much care,  but I'm not doing personal attacks.  I'm getting attacked personally, but my preference is to criticize "most fans here" - which is not a personal attack.

You, Outlaw, are the worst, and you should be banned, probably, and I don't see anyone else here that I've noticed that I would put in your category.  You haven't been around all that much recently (off season) but I expect that I'll be talking about combine and pro day numbers and PFF, and you will be talking about me, like you are now.

You can't win arguments with me because you don't use data, you don't like to use data,  but you'll try to win arguments with me by going back and finding something I said to complain about.  Which is what you're doing right now.

Setting a routine is going to be a challenge this year with Week 1 on a Friday and then Week 2 on a Monday and then a bye week shortly after. Not ideal for creatures of habit.

Covey is a top punt returner last year, led the NFL in most 20+ returns and led the NFL in punt return yardage.  I think he'll be an effective slot receiver.

The Eagles have 2 star WRs who want a lot of targets.  The Eagles don't really have a spot for another WR to get a lot of targets.  I think Covey can be good with hot routes,  blitzing situations.  Catch a short pass, break/evade a tackle,  gain 5 or 10 more yards.  But the Eagles have close to an all star team at QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, and they have role players who can, hopefully, do the thing they're good at.

Oh yeah, for sure. He was talking hypotheticals though, and those were the only extreme cases that would bother me.

 Yawn. Not around as much in the offseason as I'm busy traveling. Just got back from Norway after spending a few weeks in the Outer Banks before that. No surprise though to come back and see you're still the same idiot you were when I left. See ya around, DK.

Cut covey for who for what? Everyone else has looked pedestrian out there. Smith hasn't done jack all camp.

Mainly because I am bored, updated my projection based on the game and comments from the coaches. Few thoughts:

- I have Jenkins as TE3, but unclear about his injury. If he is out a while, maybe Uzomah sneaks on the roster

- A. Smith to the PS

- I have Campbell making it...for now. He'd be the guy cut before week 1 if they add someone via trade or singing.

- Hennessy seems to be a non-factor

- The last spot for me came down to Booker vs. Jobe. Well, Vic called out Booker playing well and Jobe struggling with penalties. I think they try and sneak Jobe to the PS and elevate him for special teams

- Brown to PUP

A straightforward reading of Lamb's post is that he has become bonded with an alien symbiote that will make him more powerful at the expense of his morality. Maybe he's telling the Cowboys he's prepared to retire from the NFL and embrace a life of fighting crime.

I for one am thoroughly enjoying this circus.  I hope CeeDee holds out indefinitely.
