Jules:
Nah, I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all.

Vincent:
Why not?

Jules:
Pigs are filthy animals. I don't eat filthy animals.

Vincent:
Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.

Jules:
Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherf***er. Pigs sleep and root in ****. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense enough to disregard its own faeces.

We’ll see how much/if they play Parker or Campbell. I have my doubts this team plays a 5th round rookie much if at all.

I think he will surprise. He has a great skill set for the slot and does the fundamentals well already.

People were talking about Penix Jr earlier and it reminded me that ESP was on WIP with James Seltzer after the draft and they were talking about their feelings on everything and then after they talked Eagles James asked ESP if he had any overall draft takes and he said he really likes the Penix Jr pick. And James was like whoa what did you like about the pick? And ESP said "Once I saw everyone hating it, it made me like it."

He finally said the quiet part we all knew out loud. Every single take he has is a contrarian point of view just to be different and for attention. First time I actually heard him admit it though.

For those not familiar with his funny side, I found this interview with Ricardo Mantalban very entertaining.  He was also excellent in the Family Guy episode he voiced:

Not that this will shock anyone but the extreme takes are intentional to draw reaction. I’ve seen that admitted as well.

its boring radio for everyone to say let’s wait 3 years and see what happens. Of course I find it all impossible to listen to anyway

At one point in sports talk radio it was the bozos that would call in with their hot takes and the radio personality would ‘educate’ the public.

I don’t think folks have the patience to wait on hold for an hour anymore (as they can go to Twitter, etc.), so we have the in-house clown as an alternate.

Anything noteworthy about the Eagles?

Great haul. Howie showed restraint. Great forecasting as DeJean was first of 4 straight corners. Likely start DeJean on outside. Good at everything. Not sure he's elite but high floor.  Fangio loves Hunt. Wilson has major ability.

Many years ago, back in the 80s, I used to call into a local sports talk show because the host would actually talk to me for 3-4 minutes, and it was a dialogue or a debate.  Now, like you said, people wait on hold for more than an hour and get maybe 30 seconds or so — then the host cuts them off and gets the last word anyway

Well said…sports talk radio was certainly more tolerable in the beginning

Thing I worry about with Smith is that ankle.  Frankly, he looked better pre injury so I worry the multi year eye is clouded by the before and after.

Thank you for saying this. It is a mistake I often make. As an example, I remember Dean as a great college LB and skip over the last two years. I still have hope for him but it is leavened a bit by time. IF he is healthy, I think he’ll like this system, as LBs are more protected with Fangio with his gap-and-a-half approach for the DL. All the LBs should show better, though guys like Carter may get a bit frustrated on early downs.

In fairness to Jalen, he's making an exception for what his grandmom is making.

Probably nothing worth the $11 a month cost.

The description for the boys basically confirms all of their RBs got sniped

The Cowboys were working the fringes on running back, one of several needs, but the lack of a fourth-round pick hurt their chances.

The No. 87 pick was a spot where they could have chosen a back, but the Cowboys felt Notre Dame linebacker Marist Liufau not only addressed another major need but provided the toughness to fit within Mike Zimmer's defense. Dallas had shown enough pre-draft love to MarShawn Lloyd that the USC tailback (who went to Green Bay at No. 88) thought the Cowboys would be one of the possible teams to draft him.

The Cowboys also really liked Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright, who went No. 120 overall (the 20th pick of the fourth round) to Miami. If the Cowboys had a fourth-rounder and Wright were still available, chances are they would have jumped on him.

Beyond Liufau on the defense, I'm told Dallas sees shades of Cowboys staple DeMarcus Lawrence in second-round edge rusher Marshawn Kneeland, a player who can win with speed or power and can stop the run.

Do you think the Eagles still gamble with Hunt in R3 if they didn't get two blue chip players in R1 + R2?

I wonder if they contemplated moving up from 78 when Cooper Beebe was still on the board (Dallas picked at 73)

There used to be some semblance of substance back in the day.   Of course, back then, there were very few outlets with actual information available.   Since then, there have come a lot of content avenues - many of which are also complete garbage - and so talk radio (an older media format) had to do something to remain 'relevant', or at least to keep the ratings up.  But, I mostly listen to the games on the radio, when I can't watch.  I might catch a quick pre-game with the player or manager/coach interviews, but the rest is just not worth the time.

They used a pick on Davion Taylor after selecting Reagor and Hurts -- both polarizing picks.

I'm not at all convinced Hunt won't be another Taylor; I just hope he can stay healthy, which would put him far ahead of Taylor all on its own.

I think so. It’s worth remembering that they traded down three times before drafting him so they weren’t in a rush to make that pick. I believe they had by then collected a third and a fourth in 2025. As I said, no rush.

Agreed…I rarely listen to sports radio anymore.  I’m mainly listening to books on tape or music in the car.

That being said, SiriusXM NFL radio is still worth a listen. Particularly the show Moving the Chains w/ Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan.  I think they bring a unique insight.  They at least are certainly not after click-bait topics.  They focus much more on roster building and cap management than any show out there.

Howie Roseman, the NFL's most aggressive general manager, parlayed eight trades into an impressive-on-paper draft.

One AFC scout lauded Roseman's haul, which reflected restraint. A team that typically prefers 300-pounders in the first round had high grades on at least eight offensive linemen yet took the first corner off the board in Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell. And to get defensive back Cooper DeJean at No. 40, before the Day 2 corner run ignited -- DeJean was the first of four straight corners selected in the second round -- was peak forecasting.

The Eagles found additional defensive value beyond DeJean. They will likely start him on the outside and see what he can handle from there, and are cognizant of giving him too many responsibilities too early, despite his versatility.

"[DeJean] is good at everything -- not sure he's elite in one area but his bust factor is really low," an AFC scout said.

Of Philadelphia's other defensive picks, the scout said, "[Defensive coordinator] Vic Fangio loves [third-round edge rusher] Jalyx Hunt. He's got some high-end traits. And even [sixth-rounder] Johnny Wilson is [physically gifted]. He's got major ability."

I’m eager to see the difference in Mitchell and Terrion Arnold in a few years. Could it be Reagor v Jefferson 2.0? Same with Cooper vs Kool-Aid.
