I don't understand any talk of trading away any corners. They were hot garbage last year. They added 2 unproven rookies and a guy who hasn't played in a year and was never playing FT snaps in Indy. There's promise and potential there, but still unknown. Looking good in camp is one thing, but you have to see how rookies pan out. Rodgers hasn't played in a year. DeJean is coming off injury. Still questions and unknowns in the real games, and they don't play in preseason. At Safety, CJG was out for most of the year after an early injury last year and Brown is on IR. You want depth, not to trade away someone and then be thin on the bench. Ringo (4th round) and Ricks (Undrafted) have some potential but are also still unproven. Slay and Bradberry are likely gone next year.  They need to keep the talent and continue to develop and be ready for depth and injury.

This guy gets it. Depth in the secondary is crucial. You don’t simply give it away before the season even starts when you don’t know when it will be needed during the season.

I was trying to work past this, but seeing it on video just confirms how real this really is. It brought the sting back.

Let's say they trade Rodgers as some have suggested. First of all, what trade value does he have? Hasn't played in a year, suspension history, was a part-time player in Indy. No preseason game film, only camp drills and a joint practice. (Unless he played in preseason games? I'm not sure). What would you get for him at this point? Not much. So what's the point?

Now, maybe at the trade deadline if all these guys are playing so great they truly have an abundance of great corners and can afford to trade one, and you have a team that's desperate make you a good offer, maybe. But they need the talent, and it's not worth trading someone for a 6th round pick.

Sometimes I wonder if medical people have named the syndrome that sports fans suffer from where they think some JAG on the roster (who they're fine getting rid of) will reap premium assets from other teams.

"Hello, we have some garbage.  We're willing to give it to you for some of your gold."

Hall gone. Guess they had no plans for him.

That's an OG meme. Made funnier because a Walker and a 5th actually landed Terrell Owens

He deserved that one. In the words of the blog "just ignore and move on". He tried to flex on a random Twitter account, that's usually what happens.

It's complicated. Requires good knowledge of the league, how other GMs value your players, who you'll lose on waivers come the 27th.

If only we had an experienced GM who has a proven track record of making these sort of deals under deadline pressure.

Wonder what happened to Rodgers, he was the toast of the town now he lost his job the last couple days of practice?

The thing is it's better to trade one or two vs cut them for nothing.

That last line 💀

Almost have to commend him for being so invested in this

Embiid will break Wilt’s single game scoring record this season…mark my words!

Side note…hope everyone is well.  Retirement is awesome (though my retirement from retirement essentially started recently).  Haven’t paid much mind to sports or anything else since the new year when it became official.  Ready for football though and lazy weekends!

They may be bad this year but I actually think Nix is going to be a good NFL qb.  The guy started a record 61 games in his college career so he does have a lot of experience for a rookie

That’s interesting…how many did Penix have?  Had to have been close?  Both are ‘ancient’ for rookies it seems.

I think he will be pretty good too. Will Levis is another.
