Pre-draft I kept saying Connor Barwin

Fact checked and confirmed:

The highlights impress me most looking at this edge prospect in coverage. Maybe he is best as a true SAM where you dont have to wait so long for him to develop pass rush technique. When I watch him playing from that stand up position, I think of Connor Barwin.

Someone else can do the edits.

Primarily in the slot in the pre season

Jahan Dotson’s role change: Dotson was the Commanders' primary slot receiver with the starters.

Dotson played 28% of his snaps from the slot as a rookie and 39% last season while Curtis Samuel was Washington's primary slot

Do the Eagles have no 3rd round pick now or did they have two before the trade? I forget.

They have one still. They had their own and then the 4th they traded this year for next years 3rd from the Dolphins.

Well that’s an exciting trade. Don’t love giving up a 3 for him, but it’s fine.

They have a 3rd from the Dolphins and their own. So had 2, now 1

Got back a 5th and threw in 2 7ths. Still have 1 pick in rounds 1-4 and 3 picks in round 5.

Love this trade.

He must really suck to get traded that quickly lol. But I’m excited to have him anyway!

Don't know what to make of the trade. It seems like great value but it is weird why Washington is bailing so quickly AND trading within the division.

Huge upgrade. You have to wonder why they gave up so quickly since they have little behind McLaurin. I read that he was having some attitude problems there or attention to detail stuff. Can’t exactly recall. Certainly worth a buy low.

He costs $2.07mm (maybe only $1.57mm if Washington paid his roster bonus already) this year and $2.757mm next year. Nice cost controlled 3rd WR option.

Love it. Dotson can play and adds even more vertical threat and can move Smith to the slot at time where he would just cook

Was Dotson the WR who caught the TD at the end of regulation last season to send the game into OT in Philly?

Yes. A great point. We really needed a cheaper upside option at WR3 who is under control for two more years.

Tate is about to explode

Dotson can play.  Nice trade.

Remember Howie picked up a bunch of mid round picks last draft for something like this

So what’s the reason Washington is dealing him? Is their WR room that stacked? Dotson was a good player at PSU and looked to be on the way of being a legit top end #2 WR.

Inside outside versatility so all 3 of our guys can line up anywhere..  I'm a PSU fan so excited we're becoming PSU factory... Know everyone on here feels the same way 🙂

Eagles 2025 picks before the trade.  Which 3rd did/do we send?

I think Dotson at the very least is a very competent WR. The question is does he have more upside than that or not. If not, the Eagles probably overpaid slightly given the going rate for WRs. If he is, they got a steal. Cost/benefit says it's a good trade. But obviously you can only truly judge a trade a couple years down the line.

Lol nope.

Clearly there was something sour about the relationship for them to give up on him this quick.  Kid is talented so I'm hopeful but still.
