Sports gif. John Cena from WWE heaves big breaths as he stops and stares at something, stunned.

Is there a way to defend the other team from doing that?

I’ve heard that Hurts was fairly effective this summer throwing slants to AJ - reading the blitz/finding the hot routes, using the whole field and getting the ball out quickly seems like the next logical step after last year’s setback. Howie has provided the roster… so the QB can play within the structure of the offense.

There's no question that Hurts had a good camp.  I also think part of the problem adjusting to the blitz was on him last season.  I am also concerned that no pre-season means no real practice against real competition and having to adjust in a realish setting during a game.

Not that I saw last season.  I am hoping this year the team tries to stop the other team from scoring.  It usually helps us have more points if we do it enough.  I don't mean to get too technical but I can post some stats.  Here is a game from last season:

8 Sun October 29 1:00PM ET boxscore W   7-1 @ Washington Commanders 38 31 21 374 315 59 2 26 472 388 84 1 15.23 -10.32 4.3

You may not remember because you are such a casual fan but I watch almost every game in real time or live.  That's because I am a real fan. (you may not know this but the word Fan comes from the Phanatic).  In any event, the most important thing in those "stats" above is what is called the score.  This is what I consider a "good game" because we (Eagles and myself) scored more points than the other team, the Commanders (in the olden days they were called Washingto Football Team but they had to change the name because George Washington was boob against cherry trees and made teeth out of them).  Thusly, the Eagles won the game.

You sound like you know what you’re talking about but I’m gonna need to see some Pff numbers to verify

God look at how bad this defense was I can’t believe we had to endure an entire season of that.

It's like they purposely didn't gameplan or try to cover receivers.  How many times did they just mess up coverage in bunch sets.  I got PTSD just watching this.

Well I have those stats too becaue I only use facts in my posts whereas most people on her use their "opinions."  Opinions are like teeth in that everyone has a few of them even the poorest of the poors.

It seems like if you grab them and make them fall onto the grass they don't throw the ball against the ground and dance around as much.

They probably will.  I'm betting on every offensive play, they either run it or pass it.

You really know your stuff.  It's good to see other knowledgeable posters on the interent.

Listed as a potential trade candidate. Any interest if it's a day 3 pick?

The former first-round pick suffered a career-altering injury early in the 2022 season and then played a special-teams role on the rare occasions when he was active in 2023.

Now Cine’s career feels like it’s at a flashpoint. The Vikings are pretty loaded at safety, with Harrison Smith, Cam Bynum, Josh Metellus and Theo Jackson near certainties to make the opening roster, plus Jay Ward and Bobby McCain behind them.

The good news for Cine is that he’s healthy and coming off perhaps his finest outing as a Viking last week, with 10 tackles, an interception and a sack in a win over the Browns. It also was notable that his teammates on the sideline appeared so excited for Cine’s success.

It would be foolish for a team to give up anything close to the first-round pick the Vikings spent on a player who has a mere 10 defensive snaps in two NFL seasons. But for a later Day 3 pick, Cine might be available. It might be the best thing for both sides to start fresh.

I really liked Cine coming out of college.  I don't know that they would want to trade for him unless there's an injury to a starter.  I would hope they would potentially sign him if he's cut.

My 53.

I went heavy with DL.  I also anticipate that they will IR Steen after roster cuts.  Toth, Jenkins, and McCollum should all clear waivers will be put either back on the roster or on the practice squad and elevated for game day.

Garner Minshew is a gift to football.  That sweet mullet and stashe look is awesome.  I'm so devastated that he sucks as an actual QB and didn't work out as a backup here.

"I'm not looking for the best players, I'm looking for the right ones".  Cute quote.  It's idiotic, but cute.  I'd be happy with all the best players.  Especially those that the Commanders are willing to give us for bargain basement prices.

I read stuff about this, too.  He did not seem to be happy in training camp.  I'm not sure what his story his, I guess we'll see what happens when he comes to DC.   It could just be a guy that needed a change of scenery.

So no punts or field goals?
