Only if they change the helmets too. The new color looks like the wet jerseys last year. Problem with that is the helmet doesn't even come close to matching.

The bigger question is why the hell can Nike NEVER get colors right or not have the right materials when that's what they do? It's like Hershey releasing a dark chocolate candy bar that isn't dark chocolate because they don't have the right ingredients. Makes no sense.

Isnt it common for a material to look darker once wet? Shouldnt there be countless examples of a wet jersey becoming a different shade than a teams helmet? Maybe someone needs to come with color changing helmet paint so a wet helmet matches the color of the wet jersey.

Yeah for own personal journey that you're taking to try to argue things about 2023 that I'm have at no point been attempting to argue or talk about.  But for what I'm talking about that your reading compression handicaps don't allow you to understand, Samuel has 39 more targets over the past two seasons.

0.68 targets per game was the average for both seasons.  Learn to read 🤷‍♂️

Hey, did you know Jamar Chase only has 15 more catches in the pros than Kevin Curtis?  Talk about over rated!!!!!

Edit: 0.68 was the receptions per game, not targets over two years.  That was # 0.57. Whatever, doesn't change the fact quoting 39 targets as substainsal is valid even if you, and you are on purpose, forget the dude missed over a quarter of his rookie year due to injury.

After Anais Smith was drafted there was so much noise about him becoming the starting number 3 and replacing covey at PR and being a chess piece in the offense that can move all over, I think all those claims were greatly exaggerated and now Im hearing media and posters twisting them selves in pretzels trying to figure out how to keep hom on the 53 saying hell definitely get claimed if cut, which again I think is greatly exaggerated, eagles fans tend to over value their own trash.

I havent seen anything from anais that would compel to have to keep him on the 53 and with the trade for Jahan I think Howie feels the same

Having said that im going to guess he still makes the roster as Howie doesnt like jettisoning 5th round rookies

I could be wrong but I believe if a player is claimed he doesn't necessarily go on the claiming team's 53-man roster. IOW, he can go on another team's PS and can be poached at any time. Is there a team willing to claim Smith and keep him on the 53? I doubt it. So...we just sign him back if needed.

I havent watched this yet but I already know its good so here you go

That wasn't the point I was making. Last years Kelly Green wasn't the right shade. When the jerseys got wet, they looked more like the actual Kelly Green they should have been and that color didn't come close to matching the helmets.

This is WAY too bright of a green, both helmet and jersey.

Oh yeah. Im aware. I liked it. But I understand its not technically "Kelly Green". Looks like this year's jersey will be closer. Remains to be seen if the helmet will change to a darker shade this year as well.

Still, people complained about the helmet not matching in the rain. I assume this has happened many times to pretty much every team and we just didnt pay attention. But, it would seem there could be a fix with technology these days.

If not, maybe Ill invent it.

I've been trying to find a rain picture from the 80s/90s and it's harder to find than I thought. Of course the jersey will be darker when wet, but I don't remember the contrast being that drastic. It's also interesting to see how different Kelly Green can look based on lighting and camera technology. Sometimes it looks bright (not as bright as Nike's) and sometimes it looks really dark.

yeah. first pic is ugly. 2nd pic seems to be what all the old heads want. That would be ok but pretty meh. 3rd pic is nicest, and pretty close to what we have. And you can actually notice if you pay attention- his helmet doesnt match his jersey.

No, to claim someone they have to go on the 53. The only way players can go to the PS is to clear waivers first or be a vet that isn't subjected to waivers.

It all depends on the lighting. It matches the side of the sleeve exactly.

Honestly, looking back at all the old pics, there appeared to be quite a bit of variation. I don't know how much was due to using old film and camera technology and how much was due to changes in materials over the years.

But I can see how the Kelly Green at times looks like "hunter green" (below) and that was the inspiration for Midnight Green.

You can claim a player, he has to go on your 53, then you can waive them and put them on the PS.

This often happens around cut down day, you claim a player, then claim another, waive the original player you claimed, but no one wants to give up a slot on their 53 so you slip them to the PS.

He doesn't have to but the team that claimed him would have to cut them and put them through waivers again.

With waivers the team is claiming the existing contract, so that's why they have to go the 53. Once a player clears waivers the contract becomes non-existent and they can sign a PS contract.

Average depth of target'

2022:

--- Samuel: 6.7

--- Dotson: 13.5

2023:

--- Samuel: 6.6

--- Dotson: 9.3

Samuel is more of a check down / safety valve type target for a garbage QB. That doesn't make a guy the WR2. It just means the QBs were scared to throw the ball further down the field in many cases. Brian Westbrook wasn't the WR2 in 2007 despite being 2nd on the team with 118 targets.

I would think Vic wants another higher quality player added to the defense, especially after watching Howie spend capital on a third WR on one of the best offenses in the league. Whether LB, lineman, edge, I can imagine Vic walking back and forth past Howie's office checking in.
