Smiths combine numbers definitely got him picked. Looking back it probably wasn’t the best decision

No I'm not playing. The game is my work.  As in,  I will be saving lives at the soccer game.

By convincing people not to be soccer fans?

I don’t get it with Nolan Smith.  Incredibly rare athleticism.  It’s literally once every 5 or so drafts you get someone with his explosive traits.  Great attitude.  Smart.  Zero character issues.

And yet he’s on pace to be a total whiff in the lineage of Marcus Smith and Derek Barnett.

Not so hot take. Hunt, Johnson and Okwara all showed more than Nolan Smith. Would you take a 3rd for Smith and just cut your losses?

they’re not even trying anymore, that backdrop is Fing blue

Some of the best players ever are horrible people with attitude problems. Sapp. LT. Irvin. Rodgers.

And there have been amazing people who are willing to put the time in and elevate the team who just end up falling short. No receiver took it more seriously than Jordan Matthews. No DB represented the team more intelligently or enthusiastically than Nate Allen. No OL-man had a relationship with the community firehouses better than Danny Watkins.

It is what it is

ok I am here. you may post about the game.

Trade Nolan Smith for Reddick.

So Reddick can continue his holdout disgruntled here?

the first drive for DeJean was definitely a rookie taking his lumps.

He played a college rule and bumped a WR beyond 5 yards. You like the physicality but thats a penalty. And it negated an INT.

Before that, I did see him make a run stop.

He sorta got beat deep but the WR didnt get both feet in. I hate when CBs dont locate the ball. He didnt turn his head. Frustrating.

I stil think he will be ok.

Shipley earned a spot on the team. And Davis-Price is a much better runner than Gainwell. Gainwell should be RB4.

And now I see he fumbled. But hes still a better runner than gainwell.

A 3rd is a gift

Howie might be forced to trade for Reddick back if the edge rushers don’t step up. He values the position too much to let it hold us back and idk who else is available. Let’s just hope Nolan and Huff live up.

Got home a little while ago. Horrible game. Looked they just wanted to get the damn preseason over with. The only player out there who looked good was VanSumeren.

Hey this Trey Lance guy must be having a heck of a game

I’ll ask again: We sure Nolan Smith is better than Patrick Johnson?

Seriously Howie….figure out a way to get Reddick back in the building.

This appears mostly to be a SB roster with the only real questions being at pass rush

OL depth is a serious question in my book.

Jacob Harris is out, he got a concussion on the opening, safer, kickoffs

I dont remember if there was in injury last week too but I do remember a gigantic hit in our game. It seems like its consistently delivering big time hits.

Hell of a question to have on a SB caliber roster

He actually just needs more pass rushing moves. The problem is that coaching seem to be a bit confused on when to push someone to develop new aspects of their game. The correct thing to do would have been to ask Jalen Carter to spend some time with his old Georgia buddy over the summer and teach him some of his pass rushing arsenal. In the NFL, all the starters are pretty athletic, so technique is more important than in college.

Matthews, Allen, and Waktins had major, major talent limitations that Smith does not.  Still, your point is well taken.  Matthews deceived with a good but unspectacular 40…but the guy had cinderblocks for feet.  Allen just didn’t have make up speed for a DB.

Nolan Smith actually looked better in the preseason last year when he was slimmer than he is now. Not sure what's up with him.

But I do laugh at the people who said the Eagles "Had to count on him to be a big factor this year" when they traded Reddick, and used one sack he had against the Bucs in the playoffs as a defense for him.

Like, c'mon. It's ok to admit he's been a major disappointment so far. Could've had Brian Branch. But whatever, he still has time to develop. Athletically I think he has some tools, but he looks so damn small out there. He's built like a point guard not an edge.

Brandon Graham was a major disappointment in his first few years as well, honestly his first contract. We could have drafted Earl Thomas.

Not saying Smith will turn out like Graham at all. Just thinking you have to give some time. He barely played last season and it's preseason.
