Pretty confident in these 51.  Steen goes to IR.  And barring a trade, the last two come from Toth, McCollom, Ricks, and Burks.

That's impossible. So many fans want to trade away a corner because we are so stacked in the secondary.

The best trade idea I’ve seen so far is the Ricks for Lewis Cine trade with the Vikings.  That one takes a strength and makes it (potentially) stronger.

I think it’s because we’re a little more obvious this year. Not too many Eli Ricks or Josh Jobe type situations

Did you intentionally leave Bradberry out, or was that an oversight?

I think because we haven’t traded him yet, Bradberry is a lock

12 DL and 8 OL? That doesn’t seem right. Hennessy’s gotta make it

The thing about Nolan Smith is he has one pass rush move, but he doesn’t play to his speed and doesn’t have the arm length to make the outside speed rush work well. If he doesn’t learn an inside counter, he’s unplayable.

This is my #1 frustration. He's tough. He's smart. He's athletic.

But he spent the off-season adding a total of zero moves to his arsenal. He's too small to not have at least one counter. Absurd. Right now, he's a 1st down player only.

Don't agree that Ainias Smith should make the roster over Campbell.  Smith isn't ready for the big league.  I know they spent draft capital on him but I think he'll make it to the practice squad where he belongs.

Everything else I agree with what he said.  Would like to see Burks and Booker make it but don't know that there is room.  Also. agree with his take on the new kickoff.  It's a convoluted disaster and most teams are going to kick it into the end zone anyways with the ball only coming out to the 30.

You can IR two players at cutdown (and designate them to return so it’s not a season-ending IR) instead of having to carry them on the initial 53.

So in effect it is an initial 55?

Toth can go to the Practice Squad and be a game day call up. I keep the other three and take a chance that A. Smith makes it to the Practice Squad after being cut.  However, if one of your 51 can join Steen on the initial IR you can keep A. smith as well.

If you have the real or fake injuries to do so, yes.

Hennessy might be an IR candidate. Big guy with back problems that can’t walk doesn’t work for a reserve o-linemen

I see him as a Week Two signing after not making the initial 53.  McCollum provides as much or more at Safety than Bradberry does.

9 OL with Steen on IR.

I'd love for Smith to be an IR guy and have Campbell on the team instead. I don't trust Smith if he had to play, he has fumble and drops issues. I'd at least trust Campbell to not screw up on basic things.

It also makes it very unlikely that another team will poach him before he makes it to our Practice Squad, so he is one of my cuts.

I was thinking one of the two IR spots might for him if we don’t have them earmarked for others. That way he can stick around in case we get hit with a couple of injuries at iOL and he gets some money for his trouble. Might as well use the free space.

Is Ernest Jones any good? Or is he one of those LBs who puts up solid numbers but when you actually watch him, he's meh. Not sure the Eagles have room for another LB though.

I wonder if White or Baun could be surprise players that are moved. Probably no chance but I'm anticipating at least one where did that come from move.

Part of me thinks burks is cut cause they believe they can get through to their PS. I actually think he’d be picked up by someone.

Me too. But I’ve been fairly checked out (by my obsessive Eagles fandom standards). Maybe it’s just knowing that in all likelihood we wouldn’t lose anyone worth a darn anyway, or maybe it’s tue ability to put two guys in IR so we can game the system to keep their two hardest roster cuts.

I’m really only interested in seeing any potential trades.

I feel the same way.  For me, it’s several reasons:

1.  Training camp and preseason content are useless and uninformative for fans now.  We always made more of it than we should have…but there did used to be SOMETHING there to at least over analyze.  Now it’s nothing.  Nothing to learn.  Nothing to entertain.  We dont know any more about this team than we did after the draft.

2.  Forget preseason, the regular season has been diluted with the new format. One team per conference gets a coveted bye and everyone else that doesn’t suck will make the playoffs.  I’ll tell you all right now…it’s highly likely the eagles will not get the bye and will make the playoffs.  Great.  So now we just fast forwarded through the entire regular season too.

Yes, he's very good. Immediate starter for us.

That second sentence is confusing after your first.

Just cause the eagles believe they can get him through and can make it to the PS doesn’t mean he actually does. It’s an educated guess on their part that he would make it PS. I tend to think one of the 31 other teams would put him on their 53 man active roster. Frankly wouldn’t be shocked if SF would as he played most of the SB after they lost greenlaw and they are familiar with him.

Will Howie be tempted?

Please God no, they kept Gainwell. We don't need both subpar backups returning

Colts released Greg Ward too. You know what to do Howie!
