I was thinking one of the two IR spots might for him if we don’t have them earmarked for others. That way he can stick around in case we get hit with a couple of injuries at iOL and he gets some money for his trouble. Might as well use the free space.

Hard to say without knowing who is hurt how badly. If Keegan and Steen are week to week injuries they both jump ahead in priority. If both are healthier than we think, I can see them stashing Hennessy. Besides those three the only others that might make sense are Stern (if he’s allowed) and Johnny Wilson. Maybe Albert O if they aren’t ready to kill that experiment.

12 DL and 8 OL? That doesn’t seem right. Hennessy’s gotta make it

Bradberry at his age doesn’t have a favorable contract to be traded in my opinion. I would expect him to be a cap casualty next year unless some team comes up extremely short of CB help. If not next year definitely ‘26, that cap number is huge for an aging cb.

Dallas is going to roll with the youth and I welcome it. Caelen Carson deserves a shot to see what he can do. Currently DAL is set to start 4 rookies, 2 on each side of the ball. Beebe and Guyton, Liufau and Carson.

Bradberry is 100% June 1st’d next year. We now have starters and depth at all db positions, no reason to keep paying him

How’s Guyton looking - RT was definitely in the mix here, so he was in the conversation this past spring. From my perspective he didn’t turn out as freaky as I wanted given that he also seemed a bit raw.

Honestly I haven’t watched any preseason at all so I can only go off what I’ve read, and some of that is Cowboy hype writers. The writers that are not seeing things through blue glasses say that he is better than expected, biggest weakness is he sometimes gets too far out front with his weight on his initial punch in pass pro. Run blocking is very good. Only time will tell.

Bring him back after week 1?

Nah. Unless it’s PS he’s pointless to take up a spot.

I was thinking for the Rams. Eagles sure don't need him back. Cliftoma said he looked pretty good for the Rams preseason.

Stream of consciousness thoughts on my 53... I think Fangio wants one backup safety who's actually a safety, and McCollum has been decent. No reason to keep Bradberry. Ricks comes back on PS if he makes it, but I think he might get traded - modicum of upside but it's not worth keeping over Jobe's ST. Felt weird keeping 6 ILBs, but couldn't justify cutting Burks or BVS for guys like Ainais Smith. Thomas Booker was a confusing one - maybe they do some roster gymnastics with Toth to get him on. Keegan IR rumors would blow this thing up. Parris Campbell was wild card #2, I think he has a better shot than the consensus thinks right now.

I think Howie bites the bullet and cuts him now.

Hope so.

Is Philly the only team who didn’t play their offensive starters in the preseason?

Meh. If you looked who played, most PT was the backups and the bubble guys, the longshot guys got no snaps and the starters a handful at best.

Makes sense, someone like VanSumeran or McCollum might not see a meaningful snap for two months other than STs.

So you want to give them as many game reps as possible to accelerate their development.

The Rams never do, and the Ravens didn’t this year.  I’m sure there are quite a few other teams that don’t.

The last two seasons with 8-0 and 10-1 starts leads me to believe it may be the proper method

I'm not sure how much of it is even his technique and polish. It may be, but it also may be that he's just not very strong. He seems to be completely engulfed whenever he engages with linemen. He can't move them and they completely move him. He has plenty of athleticism, but he may not have the strength. And I'm not even sure just getting in the gym can negate all of that, there's something to be said about raw power.

Maybe working on his technique can negate the need for some raw power, but seeing him get completely engulfed by lineman who aren't even good is concerning to say the least. Like, some of these linemen who've been getting the better of him in games and in camp, if you had any ability to push them off their feet and get them off balance, then you could use your athleticism to get by them. But it seems like every time he engages with any OL, it's game over. It feels like almost all of his sacks that have come so far have been where he just blows right past the OL without being touched or just barely being touched where they never actually engaged. But once an OL gets both paws on him it seems to be game set match virtually every time.

We'll see if that changes, we really have no choice, but is it fair to be concerned about him? It absolutely is.

Good analysis

Remember that guys like Hennessey and Toth are vested veterans and are not subject to waiver claims if they are cut.

How can Toth be a vested veteran at this point in his career? He’s been on an active 53 man roster in only about two seasons.

Just cause the eagles believe they can get him through and can make it to the PS doesn’t mean he actually does. It’s an educated guess on their part that he would make it PS. I tend to think one of the 31 other teams would put him on their 53 man active roster. Frankly wouldn’t be shocked if SF would as he played most of the SB after they lost greenlaw and they are familiar with him.

The biggest battles right now are Tuipulotu vs Booker, BVS vs Burks, Ainias Smith vs Campbell, Bradberry vs McCollum.

I'm really hoping they keep Booker and Burks, those guys are better, but I have a feeling the Eagles will lean toward "their guys." I guess there's a chance they could keep an extra LB though, but they'd have to go light somewhere else and not sure where that would be. I don't think they'd go light on the OL.

In your version of the world -  Ricks and Jobe are cut,  or not?
