I'd take Noah Brown over Parris Campbell.

Don’t think Campbell is making the team anyway.

The book (North Dallas 40) is better than the movie, IMHO.

A made for TV movie that is underrated is ESPN’s The Junction Boys.  Now it may be that because I grew up in Texas during the days of high school level 3 a days, it might be because I spent a year at Texas A&M but everyone knew about the legend of the Junction boys.  Imagine in the day of NIL and the transfer portal having a coach do what Bear did in 1954. @bpac55, I know you advocate tougher practices so that’s the movie for you.

The book North Dallas Forty is indeed better than the movie. Much better and much darker.

But the Eagles are playing in Brazil so it shouldn't be an Aztec warrior:

A proud Guarani warrior wearing a Philadelphia Eagles-inspired outfit. The individual has rich brown skin, dark hair, and distinctive facial features representing Guarani heritage. They are adorned with traditional Guarani elements like feathers, body paint, and hold a traditional Guarani bow and arrow instead of a spear. The outfit incorporates elements of the Eagles’ green, black, and white color scheme. The warrior stands confidently in a powerful pose in a natural jungle setting, blending cultural tradition with modern sports themes.

RR just fell to his knees at Costco

Dude, don't drag Costco into this :nonono:

100% guaranteed to be wrong, but here's how I see it.

NFC East: Dallas lost too many players, and Washington I think gets better as the year goes along. NYG crash and burn

NFC North: People are too high on the Packers and Bears. Neither gets to double digit wins. Minny destroyed by injuries already

NFC South: Someone has to win. Let's go with Atlanta. I know some think they will be better, but Kirk gonna Kirk

NFC West: I am assuming Trent Williams is there...

AFC East: Picking the Jets just feels wrong, but the Bills and Dolphins got worse. New England is gonna pick #1

AFC North: The Bengals are going to be really good, and the Steelers don't have an NFL QB

AFC South: I wanted to like Indy more, but I don't believe in the QB. I am most skeptical of Jacksonville winning 10 as I think Lawrence may become a bona fide bust

AFC West: Maybe I am too down on the Chargers, but Mahomes gonna still be the best player in the league

So dumb.  We have literally had the tech for several decades to track the ball and determine electronically whether it crossed the goal line, first down marker.

I think 49ers struggle with their schedule and don't agree with a lot of people thinking they're going to be #1

I think NFCN and AFCE will be a problem for 49ers

Chargers are that team you think Herbert is going to take them to the playoffs but the team falls flat. Also doesn't help to be in the same division as the alien

Agree that Texans take AFCS. I'm just not a believe in Jags but Texans have been built pretty well and I'll be rooting for Mufasa

Refs add the drama that the league likely wants to keep

Way too much Cover 0 last year.  Sure thought they ran more Cover 6 and Cover 4 but 0% in Cover 2 seems low.

Those are pre-season #s. Wouldn't put much stock in them, Fangio may have run coverages to expose DBs to get better player evaluation (i.e., doesn't want the system to hide player weaknesses when evaluating roster decisions).

I want to keep the chain gang. It adds a unique element to the game. Plus those few anxious seconds waiting for them to run out to measure can't be replaced.

I know it's a different O but I never saw the great value in using Stoll who you knew wasn't going to catch a ball over a 6th OL

Agreed, bringing him back doesn't make this team better.

But in many cases, knowing whether the ball crossed the goal line or not isn't what's at issue. The question is often whether the knee was down at the time the ball crossed.

For example, suppose Hurts is doing a sneak at the goal line and is surrounded by bodies. Suppose further that the technology says that the ball crossed. How on earth could an official make a determination that his knee was or was not down (remember he's blocked by bodies and no one can see) when the ball crossed?

Just for ishs and giggles, I once (about twenty years ago) purchased a real chain set and had it shipped anonymously to my uncle. I thought it was funny. I think he did too. They eventually donated it to some local youth league.

Guess that's off the table

Most "based on a true story" movies change details to make what they think is a better narrative for the movie.

Regardless of how true to life they are, from a purely entertainment factor, my favorite football movies are Remember the Titans, Friday Night Lights, We Are Marshall.

Comedy/for fun: The Program because it's kind of a B movie schlock and I saw it with my football teammates in High School so it is nostalgic in that way. Necessary Roughness, The Waterboy.

Unpopular opinion: I did not like The Replacements or Any Given Sunday.

Yea, the Program is one of my all-time favorite football movies. It came out when my buddies and I started playing football and for as cheesy as the game parts are, it's just such a quotable movie for us. While it wasn't a football movie, Dazed and Confused offered us some great quotes that lasted our football careers.

Starting Defense, placed at the table, WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Don't get soft on me this summer, sittin around the pool all day, chasin the muff around. BREAKDOWN. Hell man, my grandmother is quicker and tougher than you pansies. Of course she's 6-3 250.

Terrell Lewis and Anim Dankwah were reported also

Vakalahi was the 91st guy so he never really counted.

Another one with Brown to keep an eye on.
